Ashercroix Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 O_o I thought it was already completely scanned and uploaded?
PandaKingEX Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 The tier list posted looks very off to me. Sol is not close to top tier at all, in fact he probably safely holds the bottom tier position, which is a shame, since he is a character that is clearly geared for beginners.
PandaKingEX Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 I honestly wouldn't call Sol the best fighter at all. I would probably give that to Sin, or Izuna, as their amazing range is just a bit too much for Sol to handle most of the time. Oh and Ayumu. Xithmos said we have to play with him today, since it's his birthday.
PandaKingEX Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 Sin has the cheapest combos in this game. They take no effort, deal ridiculous damage, and are nearly impossible to burst out of.
Blade Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 Grrr...why has nobody talked about Raven at all? How does he play? How are his combos? Is he better than Paradigm? Worse? I'm dying to know.
Ashercroix Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 He moves like a salted slug and his mind his slow like a sloth on sake. Seriously though, it's probably because I'm just bad at the game, but I'm not good with Raven at all. His style is very swooshy, dance-y, and stabby. He tends to have a really long after-move cooldown period to flap and pose, so I get wrecked after a combo nearly every time. Not There is a good move though. :P Gives you a pretty much guaranteed free shot. As for better or worse than Paradigm... in a Masters battle, probably yeah, but in general, about the same? I dunno. :P I'm not the Overture Gameplay Authority to any extent.
Silmerion Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 Raven is notable for having a really strong army, the fastest, most damaging projectile in the game (his forward Y), and Not There, which pretty much gives him a free air combo. He can also use his relative nimbleness and his aerial Forward X dive to carefully duck the opponent. He's like a better Valentine, really.
PandaKingEX Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 He is a really annoying character. His teleport, and slow down personal skills are beyond annoying, and he has a nice set of projectile moves. If you play him well, it's hard for anyone to take you in head to head combat, but he has a handful of flaws. He lacks good servant killing moves, has pretty much no crowd control, and his personal skills are beyond useless outside of attacking a master, so despite him sharing the same set of servants as Valentine, he is considerably worse overall. I have this raven combo video I made a while ago, and it shows a general idea of how he plays. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cf-7Xys24CQ
Adelheid Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Clearly the most awesome character is in fact Paradigm, even if he doesn't even approach the top really Also Darago as much as I want to think that Sol is good, I have literally never lost to a Sol. It has never happened.
PandaKingEX Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 No way that Paradigm in near the bottom. He is the only character that can summon 4 sets at the start of the match, which pretty much means he will be dominating the map at the beginning of the game, and the opposing player will always be starting at a disadvantage against Paradigm. One of the best players in this game is also a Paradigm user. These are some of the best players from what I've seen, although I haven't gotten to see each of them face off yet, so I don't know exactly who is the best. Kimera Cryin. Best Valentine user, and very likely to be the best player. HN Tappu. Best Paradigm user. Hirokosuke and lxl hapi lxl. Best Sin users. (Not sure which one of these are better, as I haven't gotten to see them face off yet.) Panda62. Best Sol and Raven user. (I saw HN Tappu completely destroy his Sol in 2 rounds.) Not sure about Ky. Paruga and Guilty Blood are solid Ky users, but I can beat these guys. Same with Izuna as well. I haven't really seen any stand out Izuna players.
Ayumu Gardevoir Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 meh, I spam Nekomata and don't afraid of anything.
PandaKingEX Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 Anyone here want to join in on a tournament I am setting up? It will be this weekend, and I will have more details by tomorrow. The tournament will be singles and teams for masters only and normal servant play, and it will be double elimination. Teams will be random, and if the match disconnects, you restart with the same teams. Here is the current list of players and what they will participate in. 1.PandaKingEX - All 2. FlameMasterAJ - All 3. AntiKirby - All 4. Xithmos - All 5. BladeOfJustice7 - All
Ayumu Gardevoir Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 Put me down for all but Singles. I hate singles.
Zazz Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 i downloaded one of Xithmos' replays and it was only .01mb and ended less then 5 seconds in because someone threw the match people should post real replays
PandaKingEX Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 It's because Xithmos is an achievement boosting noob. I have some matches on my youtube channel, which is better then a replay, since you can see everything I'm doing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jTrFY94EXic&feature=channel_page
Ayumu Gardevoir Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 Watch mine too, you know, if you like to see people suck... http://www.youtube.com/user/qindarka
Zazz Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm5416136 oh WOW. strange weirdness involving valentine having a way of exiting the bounds of a map. hilarity ensues. i was just rewatching this and got to wondering: is this still doable and why does the japanese version of survival display the full time while the us version only says 99:99
Ayumu Gardevoir Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 it's cause the Japanese get all the good stuff and wtfhax I gotta try that.
1 / 2 Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 i was just rewatching this and got to wondering: is this still doable and why does the japanese version of survival display the full time while the us version only says 99:99 It has been confirmed that there have been changes during the English release, so it's no surprise. it's cause the Japanese get all the good stuff Not always, not always. Don't forget that they also get plenty of earthquakes and disease just like the rest of us. From what I read, the Japanese version's single player mode has less items to choose from as well as Sol's alternative costume.
Ayumu Gardevoir Posted May 23, 2009 Posted May 23, 2009 meh, I rarely use Sol's alt no jacket costume. Don't even know why I bothered downloading it... and if it has no landmines... then that sucks... Landmines for god tier.
