soujiro seta Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 Just FYI, Hazama is currently the 3rd best character in the game, His worst matchups is a 5-5 and shit roll downhill from there. Carl is right behind him. Yeah, they aren't game-breakingly dominating, but they are sure as shit OP. You can't compare carl to hazama. Carl, lambda, tao without loop, makoto without loop, and jin, imo, are the most balanced characters and don't need buffs or nerfs. Carl has only 3 matchups in his favor: Tager(6-4), rachel(6-4), tsubaki(6-4). Rachel and Tsubaki cause they suck, and tager cause tager has trouble getting in. Everything else is even or he's at a disadvantage. As mundus said, carl can win every match but he can also lose every match, so I don't know how you got to conclude he was OP Carl is not as good as hazama. Carl doesn't need nerfs, Hazama does cause he's a bit too good right now. Zoning is so easy for him, great defense with IB houtenjin, great meter gain, etc.

Haku needs his combo-able j.D (or at least give Hotaru more untech time, or let Tsubaki be able to hit as well), Ragna needs his post-C.S. options since he relies heavily on that precious meter for damage anyway, only way I could think making C.S knock away be useful is if you shortened Ragna's recovery time back to neutral after the animation. Then he'd just have to High Jump or something to follow up (in corners maybe?).

Noel was nerfed cause Mori plays her and he didn't want her to be good, CT noel in CS would god tier more or less so she needed some changes, she got nerfed to much though. Rachel was probably the character out of the top 3 who received the least whine yet they nerfed her to oblivion. So i don't think they listen to the whine of their players, Ragna was becoming overused though, so maybe they want don't want like 50% of the players to use the same character, i don't know. He hopefully will get better before launch though, since he wasn't that bad to begin with just a bit on the easy side to play.

kenja0 Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 The Tsubaki 5DxN in the videos looks iffy: 1 knockdown = 2~3 bars. It's cool, but it makes 2D worthless as a charger. They'll probably swap the recovery times on both (since they said 2D is stiffer in recovery).

I don't see her getting much better unless they do something crazy, like make 2d an overhead again. Dunno about worse, she'll probably stay the same ass character. But with everyone else getting nerfed it'll probably get better, lol. All I care about now is dat Platinum<3
