dummyacct7 Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Yeah, most of my edits were rather obscure references... As fun as messing around is, being able to play her would be much appreciated. Looks like any fears of CS Rachel damage have been dispelled, 3.5k+ on combos that have been found already sounds pretty solid for CSII. Liking the sound of j.B having cross-up potential, that's something I really wish I had with Noel =/
Starlight777 Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 My god she is turning out to be a corner rapist. 236B's heavy knockback just makes this all the more silly.
soujiro seta Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Jesus christ her damage is insane. Reminds me of valk and mak when they first got released. She is going to get nerfed that's forsure.
HiagoX Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Just a reminder: When it says "j.236A" only, it means that it wasn't really specified which follow-ups you should be doing. I guess that means you can go for whatever you want to.
Cirno Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Loving the Pan combos, loving the variety, loving just about everything. Oh, except that part where we can't play her. Still, though. I'll add this junk to the data page tomorrow, I'm very tired.
Urichinan Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 I updated the combo thread. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE remember that nothing in this thread is final, things will change and alterations will be made.
Devdan Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 No Pretty Sammy or Sailor Moon palettes? C'mon, where's the real magical girl anime, I continue to be disappointed in the people that make alternate colors for Platinum. The CCS one is pretty great though.

I thought making three based on Yukarin characters was pretty good =(
Chaoschao222 Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Who/What's Yukarin, Google didn't help me much...
dummyacct7 Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 (edited) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yukari_Tamura CS2 first footage: http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm12996134 http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm12996454 http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm12996644 http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm12996908 Poor Plat getting beat up =( Bombs look like they have some nice hitstun on block there. Forward jump dash looks kinda risky, but the back jump dash looks like it gets some good distance. Edited December 11, 2010 by dummyacct7
Starlight777 Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Well the unholy rule of new character footage is that the first vids are almost always of them getting spanked by a fraction of the cast. I really hate that sometimes but no one has gotten completely great with her yet.
Chaoschao222 Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yukari_Tamura Oh, it was her, I didn't know she was pallet worthy...
Starlight777 Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AS9C47xoIeE SPECIAL DELIVERY! there's some Plat for ya'll.
dummyacct7 Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Oh, it was her, I didn't know she was pallet worthy... What is this I don't even... This isn't the place to rant aboot that though. Stupid Jin, his combos are still more or less the same, so all the Jin players are walking all over everyone else right now. Seems to be a lot more moves that send you somersaulting in the air in CSII. Was really funny to see Ragna's dead spike do that... it's a little different than it used to be. Also, I wonder what trigger's Plat's different voices. In that first fight against Hakumen it was Luna's voice, but in the fight against Makoto it was all Sena. By opponent, perhaps?
Chaoschao222 Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 (edited) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gLaVQ0tXdgc#t=6m4s SPECIALER DELIVERY! What is imo Platinum's better voice. What is this I don't even... Sorry... I am young and naïve Edited December 11, 2010 by Chaoschao222
Zeromus_X Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Maybe you can hold down a button before the fight to "select" a voice set (like in GG)? That's pretty cool she has different voices for her different personalities. Lol cat screaming every time you attack with it. She looks really fun. =)
Starlight777 Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 I prefer Luna's voice in my opinion. I wonder if there is a Trinity voice set? In an unrelated note I love Ragna's damage nerf I enjoy seeing him have to work his ass off for once lol. Also the new Mu scares me and Jin is the newbie character again it seems.
Chaoschao222 Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 And Noel is wonderful~ but enough about the others
SoWL Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 I think I heard Trinity's voice when Plat was using her items in the Haku fight. Just like I heard Luna's voice when Plat was using her items in the Makoto fight. I think I see a pattern here. Another thing I found curious is that Plat holds her staff up with a small puff after she uses Cure Dot Typhoon. Maybe it recovers her items, like Dramatic Sammy? On a kinda unrelated note, what should the tagline for our subforum be? ぺろぺろ seems a bit too obvious, but I'm already tired of seeing it all over the place...
Absinthe Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 I love bubble combos, hope they'll play a more important role in Platinum's zoning / keep away game. They remind me of Darkstalkers 3 and Rikuo's unblockable corner setup w/ bubbles... And omg DAT MEOWING CAT
Hurricane Rev Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Loving the Pan combos, loving the variety, loving just about everything. Oh, except that part where we can't play her. Still, though. Pretty much This. I Am Loving Platinum At The Moment but there are quite a few things that I picked up watching those vids. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AS9C47xoIeE @5:01, Platinum hit Hakumen in the air with the Cat hammer on counter hit but Hakumen teched once he hit the ground. Also, Dream Sally can be popped by normals and you can block dream sally without using barrier. @5:37, Platinum hits hakumen with the bat and it push him back quite far (Across the screen). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gLaVQ0tXdgc#t=6m4s @7:29, Platinum miss Makoto with the cat hammer. So, if your opponents are too close to you then I guess they can't be hit by it. @9:54, Platinum does swallow moon which I knew for a fact that It would look something like that. The move looks really good for mix ups. @10:18, Platinum does dot cure typhoon and just about when Platinum hits makoto with it, Makoto did a jab which didn't effect Platinum at all. Like someone said before, dot cure typhoon has invincible frames at the start of the distortion. If I made a mistake on something just tell me. But aside from that, I'M IN LOVE WITH HER!!!!!!!
Yggjrasil Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 (edited) Not gonna lie seeing all these Platinum players lose doesn't make me happy one bit,but her blockstrings are just like May's and her Swallow Moon works like SVD/HSVD. Instant Overheads ftw. And /cringe at the new announcer. (Hakumen's still pretty good though...) EDIT: The fact that her natural overhead can't be followed up makes me kinda sad even on CH there's nothing you can do. I'd almost say that it's like Chipp's 6K, but Chipp's overhead changes properties on CH. looks like Swallow Moon or any IAD poke looks like viable overheads for now... Can't believe how fast JP players adjusted to Platinum's new stuff. Edited December 11, 2010 by Yggjrasil
Cirno Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 (edited) There's nothing wrong with Platinum players losing initially, nobody has really had enough time to learn her. Just give it some time. On a kinda unrelated note, what should the tagline for our subforum be? ぺろぺろ seems a bit too obvious, but I'm already tired of seeing it all over the place... かわいいあsふck (i'm serious) Edit: just saw this, it is absolutely glorious and exactly what I was hoping it would be. piowah Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gLaVQ0tXdgc#t=9m53s This looks interesting is that air jab an overhead? and what move did she use right before the air jab? Cool mixup
