BladeOfJustice7 Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 Some good matches are out, today. You guys should check them out I'll add them when I get the time.
BladeOfJustice7 Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 I also read that the feint is pretty slow but it still sounds like a useful tool in stuff like the Tager matchup. That's pretty much what I had in mind, it's only useful in 2 matchups, the other is v.s Carl and to a lesser extent, his dad. But that's about it.
itsme Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 Doesn't Shippu during OD look like Touga Hyoujin from jin? His Ice wave super that is. Yeah, I think that's what they tried to reference. Can you rapid Zanshin? : O Well, rapid sure is more avaible with the faster magatama gain. I'm pretty sure you can unless if they changed the properties again in CP.
BlackYakuzu94 Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 What, you can block Haku's counters, that's bull.
Mightfo Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 just means you have to rely on yukikaze to get out of projectile oki setups. not relevant to parrying basic strings
itsme Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 2D is still pretty strong vs. most lows since most of them aren't jump cancel-able for an easy block. I can agree with the change since an unblockable counter would be too good for a speedier game like CP.
Isuna Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 I've yet to seen how the blockable part comes into play against Carl, Relius, Mu, Nu and Rachel, but I can agree more with that change than making 6D not instant. Is there any supers that has 10+ start-up after superflash? What other uses can it have? ._. Have we seen any use of 5D Emma? Should tell us about the proration of the drives? I guess it will be 5D > Emma > jump J2A > jump J2C > Agito?
BladeOfJustice7 Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 I'm still not feeling his combo system, it's like he just has a butt load of magatama for random specials into either meagre damage for meagre oki (usually). I've yet to see a glimpse of full fledged combos from Hakumen players. Hoping guys like Chin and A92 figure something out. I really am not feeling his gameplay, but he looks like he has a lot of fun tools. Just not feeling his gameplan as compared to CSEX, yet. And yes, I don't understand why they had tear 6d a new ass, now people can just give even less fucks when up close against Hakumen, when pressuring him. It's the one thing that still bothers me, the rest is fine, and I'm sure it'll sort itself out. But not fucking 6d.
itsme Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 His new combos are pretty meter inefficient, I kind of gave up trying to craft combos after I tried to find out what might be the best 2B confirm just a bit ago. There are already a lot of theory combos there as well as corner carry combos on the jbbs too so it shouldn't be long before we get to see some full fledged Hakus soon. And I swear Arksys is trying to say that Hakumen doesn't need his drives with the 6D nerf and some of the weird drive adjustments. OD Yukikaze is still cool though so that can stay.
eliram Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 kishuu still has projactile invincibillity: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dXKZSUp2prc&feature=player_detailpage#t=103s
kirbster Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 EX Hakumanz is OP so I don't care if he's nerfed a bit :p y'all have been spoiled! Is j.b still dumb?
Skeletal Minion Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 ^j.B is completely unchanged AFAIK.
Sophisticat Posted November 24, 2012 Author Posted November 24, 2012 ^^ He's apparently still top. I wouldn't be surprised if he is, lol. Some sick shit has been coming out. I believe j.B is still dumb even if nerfed a bit. It's always been a good move, and it's still in its second-best iteration in CP. EDIT: j.B wasn't nerfed! Top tier status confirmed!
itsme Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 iirc jB's untechable time was nerfed a small bit compared to EX. Also, I'm not going to call out tiers now but he is definitely looking stronger than I anticipated, CP is looking good so far.
mAc Chaos Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 so all that counter nerfing was for nothing lol
mAc Chaos Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 As for tiers, don't forget that every time BB games come out, characters like Ragna and Tager and Hakumen are higher than their eventual position because they're so much simpler and straightforward. Then everybody else finds a whole bunch of new stuff and the tiers change.
Sophisticat Posted November 24, 2012 Author Posted November 24, 2012 Actually, I saw a note in the general thread where Stunedge said current JP list was Azrael/Bullet/Valk/Haku as top. Stunedge usually knows what's up.
mAc Chaos Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 Yeah but I mean it's like Day 3. Whether it's going to stay that way 3 months later is a different story.
itsme Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 Especially considering stuff like people are joking around that Tager's gonna be S-tier for another 3 more days until his old friend comes back.
BladeOfJustice7 Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 EX Hakumanz is OP so I don't care if he's nerfed a bit :p y'all have been spoiled! Is j.b still dumb? Why are you lying when you say that? You KNOW he's not OP -__- Anyways as for "tiers" he hasn't looked that strong to me in my eyes yet, at least not until people figure out how to manage his stars and his damage. I LOVE how we can't combo off any of our overheads (tsubaki, 6b). <_<
Saeor12 Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 I thought we could combo off of 6B now on CH
Sophisticat Posted November 24, 2012 Author Posted November 24, 2012 You can combo them. I just saw a vid where he did Tsubaki -> Hotaru -> IAD j.2c -> stuff. 6b is comboable on CH. Avg dmg seems to be 3k. 1 star stuff averages 1.5k, and if you add Zantetsu to a combo it can break 4k. He's still got some corner carry with j.C ender. J.C seems really good by itself now because of dmg buff. It seems once you go OD, it's GG for the other guy. OD -> Mugen -> Wave spam -> Kishuu -> Mugen mixup -> OH SHI-- For real, I doubt he'll end up bad. He's still got his great normals and buffed meter gain. Corner carry is still there, and you can still get dmg, just need to spend more it seems. Options for situations and mixup got slightly improved with Agito too. Counters were nerfed and you can't combo off them, but they still serve their purpose and you get a star to boot. That's my take anyway. I can't see him go any lower than mid-tier.
Warhound Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 I'm not really convinced he's at the top yet. He might have an edge when it comes to using CTs but so far, it's not like he has every tool in the box to work with like CS1 Litchi (that bitch).
BladeOfJustice7 Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 Is 5a still air unblockable? It honestly makes sense of Hakumen to still retain some semblance of his csex self since it's the first time he was actually good and had 5/5 matchups with zoners. Unlike pretty much every other version of the game lol.
