Mightfo Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 so apparently throw range was cut in half like in location tests. does this mean 2a throw still whiffs like in location tests? how will haku open up players with good defense? imo tsubaki and zantetsu dont really cut it against those sorts of players. 6b kind of does but doesnt really lead into damage, although i guess with CH it does now? if you can get a fuzzy going that will help, but..

Also that new command grab like move is probably his crush trigger, which looks cool.

We'll see. I almost feel like they just want me to spam naked Tsubaki and Renka like the CPU Boss Hakumen and get my damage off that. Awwwright~ What feels weird watching these is how as a defensive character with a special defensive drive he's supposed to use that instead of just normal defensive options but instead he has to rely on the same system tools that everybody else does. I mean, you should be blocking anyway but it's almost like they don't want you to use it. You can get pretty far just by smacking people with random j.C's though. That doesn't cut it after a certain point. I'm just putting down random thoughts. :P EDIT: It took me a while to realize the one song I kind of liked listening to so far was the Susanooh remix. It definitely sounds different but I could pick up the similarities.

First off, why are you posting here? Are you going to sub/main hakumanz :3 Secondly, he has stars out the ass, so in theory usually he should have some sort of pressure tools when he's on offense. Also 6b looks comboable even without CH, so he has SOME tools both in theory and in practice. Also an increased hop speed should, in theory make it easier to hop grab before you get mashed out of your pressure. So we'll see, but for now, I think he might have better pressure than his previous iterations.

I guess we'll see how it balances out against other characters and their own changes.

Awwwright~ that's true but at least more meter gives him better pressure options to make them not want to jump or hit buttons, more yukikaze(helps make up for normal parry nerfs? did yuki get nerfed?) and stuff like double zantetsu sounds a bit promising also fast meter gain essentially means you have a really cheap rapid cancel. i know that traditionally doesnt have much of a point, but there may be good uses for that, perhaps a way to set up solid mixups(rapid move with a lot of blockstun, then...?) Are you going to sub/main hakumanz :3 no but i am just interested in how all the characters are changing in bbcp, im interested in the effects of general changes like the throw range thing on specific charas, and dioxide is my friend and i fight her all the time so i should pay attention to haku lol. also honestly, his improved movement and meter and blockable parries make me a lot more excited at the matchup.(oki works but i have to deal with a stronger neutral aside from damage, sounds fun imo.) I mean we have no tools to punish obvious pressure strings, our drive it made to punish stupid things, and now things like obvious 6bs from Ragna and 6a gatling pressure from Tager just has to be blocked. I mean yes you're not supposed to rely on counters, because you'll die and your defense should only be supplemented by counters and not the other way around. But each iteration his counters get weaker and weaker, now you can't even combo off of them lol. The only thing I like gameplay wise for Hakumen is his INSANE meter gain, I'm hoping his still has crazy damage potential off of those stars.
