You guys better put on a good stream! I've be stream monstering this one while I study for my finals. *sigh* wish I could make it out there. Someone use makoto for one round for me :3

Also with January the first Saturday is the 1st is it to be on news year day. or is it the following week?

The schedule is on the first page, lol. It's set for January 8th since New Year's Day people are bound to be super busy (Or Hung Over).

Yo, if you don't mind that my current plan is to bus to SJ, you can always crash at my place in Santa Cruz, on the UC campus. It's closer than Hayward, and you'll probably be offered lots of trees by my roommates. PM me if you're down.

Thanks for the offer, really appreciate it. Unfortunately, it looks like my chances of coming now are about 10%. I've ordered an HD Fury 2, and it's taking forever to ship. Worst of all, my faithful 2 grand computer just had a second harddrive failure, and complete screen shutdown. At this point, I can probably say after futily trying to restart several times, I've probably done permanent damage to the harddrive. Add a bad weather forecast on a motorcycle, not so great on finances, researching a new computer, testing my new setup, and general difficulty in finding places to stay, I think I may have to nix this tournament.

I'm sorry guys, If Tsubasa is making it I'm more than sure he'll deliver well, he was awesome at recording/streaming at that last NCI ranbat with him :3

why are you researching a new computer if you are having an HDD failure. Just get a new HDD? If you need to recover stuff from that hdd just get an external casing and see if you can access it through that. If not just return the casing.

Yeah it was bummer we couldn't meet up over this break (been busy all weekend sadly), but once this semester is over I'll stop by and take a look at it. Get some BB too :3

1) It's the computers second harddrive failure in 2 months. It cost me 400 goddamn dollars to recover, and install a new HD. A new computer now at like 800$ is almost 4 times as powerful. Mind you this CPU is 6 years old.

2) Accessing an external casing is impossible if the computer doesn't boot up, AND you can't see anything lol

3) I have it backed up on an External Terrabyte drive. All I'm missing are some SCR finals vids and the mikez vid, it doesn't matter much.

Sadly hard drives are a POS. Also they are the only mechanical part of a computer. Better get your self a nice SSD (32 -64 gig )for your os and a few other things then get a nice 500 + gig hdd run as a slave for storage ^^

Where i used to work we would get data off of busted hard drives through the above method, just depends on the level of damage. Sometimes it works other times it doesn't *shrugs*

Speaking of which I probably need to back up my data but eh, maybe I'll do that this winter break haha. Though I am jealous, I've been wanting to get rid of my e6750 and build up a new rig for awhile, I think I'll be building one this summer.

Then he should start testing on his machine. Removing ram, dcing HDD. Checking for blown capacitors on the MOBO. Great now I am distracted thinking about this. haha

You should be able to just download those from the My Videos section of BBVlog anyway.

Yyyyep. The harddrive turns once, I can hear it, then it goes dead. The screen doesn't even respond. There is absolutely no way to even figure out the problem if I can't even see anything lol.

You'd be surprised. If it was a desktop tower, shit, it wouldve cost me like 75 bucks and I couldve done it myself lol. But laptops are much different, it is very difficult to work with and they're usually not as flexible softwarewise.

Not to mention, because of this difficulty those nigger computer "fixing" bastards suck every dollar out of your pocket they can, just because they know that you need your computer done quick and you cant do anything yourself.

Bloodsuckin bastards lol.

Storage is for every day use. I don't use my backup HDD every time I want to listen to music :3

Ah you use a laptop. That makes a bit more sense. No dual HDD's in a those :(
