Crosell Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 I'll be having Thanksgiving dinner, but a lot of stuff will depend on what you find out. Thanks Crosell :3 Thanks giving on a Wednesday thats madness!
Honnou Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Hey CRAZY IDEA HERE! JUST CRAZY BUT IT MIGHT WORK let's do something no one wants to do split norcal install into a 2-day event for december, a gg day and a bb day. if venues are too small to hold a place, a gg event can be held at one spot and a bb event another day at the same spot or a different location just a thought I personally wouldn't mind hosting GG and MB as I have the space for it at home, and I don't mind hosting BB on a SEPARATE day, but I just can't do both at the same time. If this doesn't work, I guess we're just waiting til January...
ehuangsan Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Pending the outcome of the Shadowbrookes venue, I don't mind donating a huge portion of the venue fee for the Pacifica venue, so long as someone writes me a receipt for tax purposes. It doesn't seem like that many people are going to show up anyway, but a more accurate headcount would help.
TaoFTW Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Whatever happened to the venue fee you guys have been collecting? You should tap into that to purchase a venue. Koogy is also willing to make NorCal Install T-Shirts as long as we pay him $400 for the proceeds. So yeah, invest $400 to Brokentier.com and get 30 shirts n' sell em for $20 each while getting extra shirts to give away for prizes. Rinse and repeat n' profit. NCI should have it's own paypal account already.
Crosell Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 NCI shirts actually seems like a good idea. I'd get one.
Dacidbro Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Hey CRAZY IDEA HERE! BB tournament at your place sounds -magical- I would still support there being a venue fee; half of it going to magical foods and the other half just to you. Would anyone object to having the tourney at Rod's magical house?
natearistata Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Is Rod's magical house 5 hours away from me? <_<
Dacidbro Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Is Rod's magical house 5 hours away from me? <_< Considering your area of living, it is most likely just as far as everywhere else (1 to 2 hr?) This is obviously unfortunate. Maybe we could put some kind of fund to alleviate the travel cost..
Chun Posted November 24, 2010 Author Posted November 24, 2010 (edited) There's no profit to be had currently. The budget for NCI is nowhere near the ability to flex for venues before the not-set-in-stone huge NCI at the end of the year. NCI T-Shirts are not a bad idea altogether either. But there's simply not enough overhead to facilitate the 400$ necessary at this time, as gdlk as that would be. The only other solution would be committing to T-shirt orders ahead of time so Koogy is guaranteed the profit he's expecting for the manufacturing. As easy as it may sound now, out of respect for Koogy I really don't want to butt into his company process without his consent or consulting first. We don't know what plans he already has currently after the recent success at NCR and should not operate under this assumption. The two-day thing sounds plausible, but in the best interest of all scenes it might be a good idea to keep it together. The feedback of tournament organizers/runners would be appreciated before I figure this out ultimately. I'm banking on Crosell's idea at the moment. ~Chun Edited November 24, 2010 by Chun
ehuangsan Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 I posted this earlier, but I can also host the entire thing, provided that people bring chairs and setups. I should have more than enough space. But again, I live in the middle of nowhere in Campbell and will probably charge a token venue fee, so it should really be a last resort.
TaoFTW Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 I just talked to Koogy in person at NCR and been collaborating with him about NCI for over a year now. It's basically the same thing he did with IPW. Koogy made a t-shirt for IPW to advertise Brokentier.com -> 100% earnings would go to IPW. The only difference is that we're paying him to design the shirt so we can buy n' sell it. It's not butting into his business. On the contrary, it's giving him business while giving us a profit; Paul supports NCI 100% and encourages us to see the long-term goal.

I enjoy the fact you kept me updated about what you were doing with anything related to NCI, or that you were still part of doing anything NCI related for that matter, lol. I'm still against the T-Shirt pitch at this stage of the game. I'd love to collab with Koogy about this but the budget would be far over-extended than it already is for the final. Sure, I guess I should stop posting useless information that doesn't help NorCal. I'm only relaying the info that was given directly to me from Koogy himself.

koogy Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 Chun, get in contact with me. I want to help your event grow, and you need cash to do it.
Dacidbro Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 I would personally -love- to see a Norcal T shirt on Koogy's lineup, and would strongly encourage us to take this chance being given. Esp cause Koogy is a BOSS.
Chun Posted November 25, 2010 Author Posted November 25, 2010 Chun, get in contact with me. I want to help your event grow, and you need cash to do it. Sure, send me your number through PM and I'll call you up either late tonight or Friday/Weekend. Let me know.
Spirit Juice Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 I say all our NCI shirts just make fun of Dacidbro.
Crosell Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 I expect Nice pick up to be a shirt heading off now, will post up info as soon as I can.
RinHara5aki Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 Chun, get in contact with me. I want to help your event grow, and you need cash to do it. This sounds like a great idea. If there was an NCI t-shirt, it would give many people looking at this event a much more fulfilling idea of NCI. It would make it feel more official. Koogy I'd also like if you could pitch a new BBV logo at me :333
Chun Posted November 25, 2010 Author Posted November 25, 2010 P.S. I've been thinking over and figuring an updated website for NCI to add presence on the side. Though not much is created yet, haha.
Crosell Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 Ok, they sre willing to do it. He doesn't for see any problems on the 4th but will need to check with people. They are expecting at least a 100 or 4. Dollars per person. They place a decent size/ lagless tv there for main event. Interenet for streaming. It is a little bigger than droms and has tables in place. May be a bit crowded vut could work I got pictures of the place ill post up later as I am on my phone. Chun I will pm you the owners info so you can discuss more with him if need be. You are a better representative of nci than I am.

A website from SCRATCH? Yeah.. you need at LEAST basic HTML experience, and more. I think dreamweaver is the website building program. I suggest maybe like a NCI YouTube or something I dunno, like what Arcade Infinity is doing. Wait that doesn't make sence I post those vids NCI MYSPACE MAN DAT NORCAL DRAMA SO STRONG lol Ok, they sre willing to do it. Tables, decent room, internet, decent price for venue, even their own TV's? Smack dab in the middle of the Bay Area? Not bad! :3 Now we gotta ask WHATS WRONG WITH THEIR FREAKIN PHONE lol.
Crosell Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 . PThey are new owners. Old owner dcd phone and won't give pw to the myspace page OH YES parking is easy. Lots of grocery stores around for parking and a decent lot by the place should be able to fit us with a bit of flexiblity. Owners are very nice and seemed a bit excited themselves haha. And its just one tv, but that's fine for main event stuff
