Dacidbro Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Make sure they know it isn't a HUEG tournament, and see if the venue would be very reasonable. Sounds like a great possibility.
Crosell Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 (edited) Whats the average turnout 50 people? or so? http://www.myspace.com/sbgames is this them ? Actually I'll be down in the concord area tomorrow so I'll stop by and check it out. It may be better that way anyways. Just post up some questions and I'll ask em. Edited November 17, 2010 by Crosell
OrionXElite Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 If I had to guess, it should 50 at the most. With people being iffy due to schools being near finals that week, people may not show up. Our usual gatherings are around 40-60 total so I'd honestly say somewhere around 40-50.
blk_mage Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 It being in Concord would be awesome, I wouldn't have to drive an hour or more each way. :P
Chun Posted November 17, 2010 Author Posted November 17, 2010 I will contact Shadowbrooks sometime this week. ~Chun
Crosell Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 I will contact Shadowbrooks sometime this week. ~Chun You don't have too, I have to go the hospital in Concord anyways for school work, so I will be in the area. Though, a list of questions to ask would be helpful in this situation, I don't mind taking the lead on this one and helping out a bit with the community.
A.K. Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Fuck concord is even farther away. Grr, it's gonna be hard I think =__=;;
RinHara5aki Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Fuck concord is even farther away. Grr, it's gonna be hard I think =__=;; Like I said before, there have been sooo many San Jose events, I think its time that San Jose players start driving around to different places as well. On that note, I'm MORE than sure someone nice can carpool ya :3
A.K. Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Arg, well I just started going to them haha. So I guess it's my bad. Grahhh...Carpool you say? Who?D:
Tsubasa Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 I understand the desire to be fair about venue location, but to be honest, planning for Concord or Davis sounds like a bad idea to me. The majority of the NCI crowd is from the lower part of the bay and so I think it makes complete sense that we've been planning primarily for south bay or slightly up the east bay/peninsula. I think going further up the east bay/north bay is a step towards being more fair, but I'm not sure if it's the most reasonable choice when it might noticeably affect attendance. I'll probably end up going to wherever it is though.
Crosell Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 yeah but no one is offering up places . Chun offered up SJSU that can't be used this time around , we have a potential location in Concord, unless there is somewhere else in San Jose that warrants us to stay there. It goes to where ever we can find a location.
Shining Aquas Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 To Spirit Juice: Dammit man, I ain't lazy. I used to drive at least an hour each way for every NCI up until we moved to SJSU. I know we have at least a few people in the community that could make the drive, it's just inconvenient as fuck for most of us. GET CLOSER TO US. To Dacidbro: Your carpool group is now called "Nice Pickups"
Nakkiel Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Hey, most of PNW drives an hour each way every Friday to go to meets. Step it up!
Meowmix Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 My rule of thumb is, if I get at least twice as much time playing as I do going to/from the venue, it's all good. Seeing as how these things go for 12 or so hours, being on the road for a total of two hours really shouldn't be a problem.
Dacidbro Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 To Dacidbro: Your carpool group is now called "Nice Pickups" I like your style Aquas

Every time I go to a San Jose ranbat, I carry 3 heavy bags, two which are full of equipment, on a MOTORCYCLE, and even during one of the SVGL ranbats through HEAVY RAIN AND STORM. Goryus took me in like a stray puppy, I was fuckin soaked. You know how fun riding like a packhorse at 65mph in heavy rain for an hour and a half JUST to record ranbats? I agree with SG. San Jose needs to step it up. Meowmix's rule sounds legit to me too. The ranbat will run for awhile. To Dacidbro: Your carpool group is now called "Nice Pickups" Someone should sig this :3
Crosell Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Every time I go to a San Jose ranbat on a MOTORCYCLE How bad ass are you?

OH WAIT, I DRIVE 2-3 HOURS, DEPENDING ON IF I HAVE TO PICK UP FAGGOTS LIKE SONITI OR COOPA ONCE A MONTH, EVERY MONTH TO GO TO THESE TOURNAMENTS. IT'S ALMOST AS IF I HAVE A REASON TO COMPLAIN MORE THAN OTHER PEOPLE.
natearistata Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 lol that's pretty much what went through my head too though
Spirit Juice Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Capslock and exaggeration is the name of the time but the point remains!
Dacidbro Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 No dude don't apologize, it's okay to be mad
Whiteboywilly Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Yea I feel you scott. Your point is very valid.
