For $400 you may as well spend some extra cash and just replace your shitty six year old laptop.

Or buy a netbook that's still better probably.

That was the plan :eng101:

For the price vs. specs it's pretty awesome, basically the only thing mediocre is the HD rpm speed, which 5400 is pretty low 7200 is what you'd usually like. It'll take longer to render videos and stuff, but shit it's DEFINITELY faster than what I had. Do you know how long it took me to render the SCR finals?

13 HOURS :vbang:

RIP ole compy TwT...

You'd be surprised. If it was a desktop tower, shit, it wouldve cost me like 75 bucks and I couldve done it myself lol. But laptops are much different, it is very difficult to work with and they're usually not as flexible softwarewise.

Not to mention, because of this difficulty those nigger computer "fixing" bastards suck every dollar out of your pocket they can, just because they know that you need your computer done quick and you cant do anything yourself.

Bloodsuckin bastards lol.

laptops can be a pain to work with, but they aren't so fundamentally different as to warrant charging people that much for a simple hard drive recovery and installation. i mean shit, i did a better job of putting my laptop together than the manufacturer did after they "fixed" my problem, and it was the first thinkpad i'd ever opened up.

please don't tell me this was done by geek squad, at least...

Manufacture repairs are always questionable lol. Sometimes the technician is good and you dont worry much, or they're a complete dipshit and ruin it. I'm not surprised lol.

No I didn't geeksquad it xD I looked around this area and there is literally two PC repairists in San Rafael lol, thi one was "cheaper".

I've done almost the exact same job that you got done for people for ~$100 (they paid for the new HD too). Sucks that you paid that match. I don't find working with laptops difficult, but it's best to check the documentation because plastic snaps are a bitch.

Interupting the computer talk, is the entry fee and schedual going to be the same as last month's?

Posted

Yeah regarding the schedule: Let's try to start on time (by on time I mean an hour late max). We should also at least try to stagger the start of the tournaments so we don't run into issues with the streaming again.

We are CONFIRMED for the 4th of December, at the SJSU Club Room.

Please show up on time, I'm readjusting the tournament schedule now.

Use the SAME FORM as before on the first page to register equipment.

(For Each Tournament Stream, Stop at Top 4 or Designated Time Frame [Whichever Comes First] then Extra Time into Casuals)

2-3PM Melty Blood Tournament Matches

3-4PM Guilty Gear Tournament Matches

4-6PM BlazBlue Tournament Matches

In reality, this is the range of start times for the tournaments.

:v:

Edit: Also, I think I submitted two forms of "Bringing a HDTV." I'm only bringing one so someone please fix/take note of that.

Right, the fee will be increased. It will be 5$ Entry, 5$ a tournament. So no change complaints, lol.

Not sure why we increased the venue/entry fees again but okay... You should probably break down the venue fee (i.e. how much goes to the CS club, how much goes to future NCI events).

Posted

I'm assuming $5 to the pot(obviously), then the rest is either split $1/$4 or $2/$3 to the CS Club and NCI respectively. Hopefully that's how it is. The slight increase in money towards NCI would be a big help later. Especially if we use that money to invest in Koogy's shirts :3

Fees per tournament and venue have also been increased, and are non-refundable.

5$ (2$ CS Club, 3$ NCI) + 5$ a tournament.

Shadowbrookes is currently tentative for January. I just got off the phone and they're not sure if they'll be able to give us a space until later on.

However, in the case it does happen, the venue fee will be 4$ + NCI planning (Which I haven't figured out yet) for the January 8th date.

I'll keep you all posted :).

We're only playing on Windows 95 computers.

The only game we will be having is Virtual On: Cyber Troopers, it will be 2 people to a keyboard.

We'll ask that everybody brings their own supply of brown tang.
