Tsubasa Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 ^David, could you list who gets points during each ranbat (i.e. the values for first, second, third, etc.)? Edited my post. I'm going by last season's convention of 4 to 1st, 2 to 2nd, and 1 to 3rd. Not sure if we want to change that this season.

Mystic d Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Shoutouts: Willy, for being free at McDonalds. Noej, for losing to me in casuals then destroying me on stream. Crosell, for his first top 3 finish and repping that furry. Aginor, for running BBCS brackets. Also thanks for letting me use your stick all tourney. Spirit Juice, also for running brackets. What did you do with that copy of Halo?? Chun, for once again putting this together and ensuring things ran smoothly. Hope you got that hw finished. Tsubasa, for the streaming setup (also to that other person who was running the stream, sorry I don't know your name). Looking forward to the next ranbat (which will be in two weeks?)
Crosell Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 (edited) Sorry we couldn't get matches in mystic d. Next time for sure. And thanks :3 still have a lot to work on though haha. Edited November 7, 2010 by Crosell
qwerty Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 i already posted results? i don't have the previous results, ask jake.
Dakanya Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 shoutouts to the new people that sat down to play guilty gear too bad i dont really know anything about this game so i can't tell you anything specific if you do your homework then we can talk more 'cause i can't fill in the details myself shoutouts to the new person i met at sjsu who didn't come play gg ~legs legs legs
qwerty Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 also, i ran the tournament as well as i could, considering everyone was in every fucking tournament aaaa if you were playing bb/mb when you were scheduled for gg, i told you to play those games first because i figured gg wouldn't take very long anyways, so you should get your long matches over with first. it sure didn't help that people wouldn't stop playing casuals though, even if they were supposed to fight the guy they were currently playing anyways. it went pretty well overall though. started later than i would've liked (chun told me to wait, shrug) and took a bit longer than expected, but this is norcal after all...
Spirit Juice Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 i already posted results? i don't have the previous results, ask jake. Need the points they get. Nigger.
KatanaDash Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 also I posted last months in the tourny results page. points is standard 4,2,1
ehuangsan Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 Also, WTB reaction face camera =X It's moments like these that make me wonder why I bother to play this game What about imaginary points? I want my i point for MBAA
Whiteboywilly Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 Something that I think really needs to be more kept to task on was the time. This isn't just me or my opinion so don't go attacking me. But like I think it sucks for people who go to a tournament starting at 4, then its delayed just because? Like the schedule made it seem like the tournament would end no later than 9 yet people were there till about 11. I totally understand normal tournament delays and other things that make things go longer. I just think it sucks for people who drive out far that their tournament doesn't start when stated cause what if they cant stay longer till like 9, they drove all the way for nothing? Just something to think about.
blk_mage Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 Shoutouts to 2GB combo for easily the most epic match I had all day. Crosell for not punishing random distortions and still managing to win. Meowmix for breaking my door and for helping me fix it, as well as for the gas money (I honestly think I wouldn't have made it home if I'd taken the 5) Everyone who I played against either in casuals or tournament for the matches. Solex for perfecting Willie's Arakune then fucking up and losing to his Hazama. Chun for putting it all together. And the CS officers for putting up with us and letting us use their room And... I think that's everyone, I'll do more if I remember anyone I forgot.
Meowmix Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 Meowmix for breaking my door and for helping me fix it Hey man, that door broke itself. I just happened to be using it when it did.

Shining Aquas Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 Shoutout to everyone who came, it was a great time. Shoutout to Chun for losing a round to my Touhou 12.3 Rachel as Litchi. Shoutout to Qwerty for making me look like a scrub, but still losing. Shoutout to Honnou for not coming, thus allowing me to finally place higher than 5th in GG. Shoutout to Melty Blood, what the hell I don't know how to play at all but it was awesome. Shoutout to everyone who was cool enough to play AH with me. Shoutout to me for putting on my worst BB performance of all time. Another shoutout to me for having the most hype matches in everything, with a fucking following crowd and everything. Shoutout to Tenkai for making me look like a scrub, entirely so. Also, Jiang when the hell are you gonna stop trolling yourself and enter a tourney again? Finally, shoutout to NCI for giving me a fucking fever. I'm not feeling all that hype.
Chun Posted November 8, 2010 Author Posted November 8, 2010 (edited) Something that I think really needs to be more kept to task on was the time. I just think it sucks for people who drive out far that their tournament doesn't start when stated cause what if they cant stay longer till like 9, they drove all the way for nothing? Just something to think about. I'll take responsibility for that. As much as I pushed for the registrations to end promptly, I found that across games many people weren't arriving until the later hours, probably because most didn't know the time designations per game, or thought they couldn't make it. Most people arrived for Melty, Guilty at around 2-3 PM so the schedule was offset. Also, streaming was put out of the equation to my knowledge then brought in at the final few moments, so things in the top 4 and 8s took longer than I planned. I had to make a good amount of judgment calls in terms of when to start what event, in the best interest of the scene. I could have been a complete hardass about the time schedule and cut registrations per game at the times I said, but ultimately I feared the stigma I would get for doing that to the people that I knew and weighted it out for the people that were new. As much as I encourage timely attendance, people don't appear within reason, and that makes my job harder from a moral standpoint. I hope to improve the scheduling as it seems that people cannot make a 12PM and 2PM time for various reasons, but also account for timeliness for a more professional view in preparation for the future. Like usual, do leave feedback with any concerns you did have, as I wasn't able to check hourly like I did last month. ~Chun Edited November 8, 2010 by Chun
blk_mage Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 Thats karma for when you broke my door at droms :p I actually thought that when it happened too :P Also, shout-outs to whoever chaged my character voices to japanese. The English ones are fine, is it really necisarry to go into the menues on someone elses sytem to change it?
Chun Posted November 8, 2010 Author Posted November 8, 2010 I actually thought that when it happened too :P Also, shout-outs to whoever chaged my character voices to japanese. The English ones are fine, is it really necisarry to go into the menues on someone elses sytem to change it? I changed it because I use voice cues to time my combos during my match, I hadn't had the time to train without them, and was what I am used to hearing in the arcade. Admittedly I hate Litchi's English voice. ~Chun

blk_mage Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 I totally agree with the voice cueing thing. And I also agree english voices are horrible as well. ...You play Arakune, you can hardly understand what he's saying anyways :P And I prefer the English voices because I understand what they're saying and don't speak Japanese.
