Spirit Juice Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 BECAUSE YOU'RE ALWAYS DOING THE SAME SHITTY BLOCKSTRINGS AND THE SAME GODDAMN COMBOS. DAMN IT. DON'T BE MAD THAT I CAN ACTUALLY DO COMPLEX MOTIONS LIKE 236 AND 623 AND CAN ACTUALLY DO COMBOS OKAY. So is Chun working on another venue then? Not his responsibility to do so. Community should be doing so. I could try for something in Sacramento, but yeah NorCal sucks and no one would come so I don't bother.
natearistata Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 Hey hey hey, watch it. I can do 236 PERFECTLY FINE EVERY TIME. It's 236236 I have issues with =(
Yggjrasil Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 well, there's always my house, along as you guys dont bring like 100000 niggas here.

Ranbat would be fun, but I just want a damn good excuse to go back to that pizza place :3
Dacidbro Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 I could try for something in Sacramento, but yeah NorCal sucks and no one would come so I don't bother. Seriously who are you even talking about when you say this?
Coopa Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 http://calltaggamer.com/ <-- I'm really busy with stuff right now, but I was recommended this new venue. The store owner SPECIFICALLY said he wanted to hold tournaments here. It's an internet cafe, and the owner is already talking to IPW about holding monthly SF4 and BBCS tournaments. Mainly SF4 though. Also, YOU WAS NERVOUS, is my favorite Tokido quote.
Chun Posted November 16, 2010 Author Posted November 16, 2010 Goes without saying probably, but the bi-weekly this week has no event planned, so there is no addition for that. As for the venue coopa linked me, I'll give them a call to see what they would want in terms of compensation. If it's within reason for the venue fee and associated expenses, we might go for it. Otherwise Drom's might be the other only option.
Spirit Juice Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 Seriously who are you even talking about when you say this? Not sure how much of the BB crew would come out, but mostly talking about the GG/MB crew.
Chun Posted November 16, 2010 Author Posted November 16, 2010 Just got off the phone with the venue Coopa mentioned. If we go along with it, Venue Fee: 10$ a person, the place would be rent out. Hours: 10AM to 11PM, but after 11PM is ok because management decides hours. Accommodations: High speed internet, possibilities of providing setups (But I believe it'll cost lest to be own) So this might be a chill place for the bigger NCI in the future I.E. Eudemonia-like, but I don't see it being the monthly spot. Drom's is looking more likely. ~Chun
Crosell Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 Would it possible to have another Drom's gathering?? Ranbat would be fun, but I just want a damn good excuse to go back to that pizza place :3 True nuff! Would droms be big enough for mbaa and GG though?
Coopa Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 True nuff! Would droms be big enough for mbaa and GG though? Hmm... Well, the drom's venue isn't large, but... I think with the amount of people willing to go out to Davis, yeah, I wouldn't even worry.
Crosell Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 Hmm... Well, the drom's venue isn't large, but... I think with the amount of people willing to go out to Davis, yeah, I wouldn't even worry. Yeah I can imagine turn out being low. Its around finals season for a lot of people. Sadly I doubt I'll be able to make it out.
Spirit Juice Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 There's a place in Elk Grove that I could probably snag for a monthly tournament (or just for next month) that's about 2.5 times the size of Drom's. But yeah like I said, I wouldn't expect that many people for GG/MB cus them niggas are lazy. YEAH I'M CALLING YOU FAGGOTS OUT AGAIN. Not sure how much of the casual BB crowd would come too.
tofurr Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 Elk Grove and Davis are easier for me to get to than the Bay Area (due to cost of gas), so I would come.
Dacidbro Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 It would definitely be less people universally, cause ya'll sactown niggas keep forgetting to start a scene out there, not that people aren't CONSTANTLY asking where the scene for BB meets over there.

I'm sowrry! I would like to come out more, but the SF community is nagging me to play more SF. >.>
Spirit Juice Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 I know the BB regulars would show up, so I don't care about that. I'm pretty much talking how the GG/MB regulars wouldn't show up cus they're lazy fucks that don't want to drive farther than 30 minutes.
RinHara5aki Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Hey Coopa do you remember that venue that IPW uses for SF4 tournaments in the Bay Area? I'm slapping myself trying to remember the name of the place but I just can't for the life of me. Its not StarBase.
OrionXElite Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Hey Coopa do you remember that venue that IPW uses for SF4 tournaments in the Bay Area? I'm slapping myself trying to remember the name of the place but I just can't for the life of me. Its not StarBase. Wasn't that Shadowbrook?? Don't remember if the spelling is right but it was something like that
RinHara5aki Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 THANK YOU yes thats it. From pictures and descriptions of Shadowbrook, it looks like a great venue. I don't know the price, but I'm sure its not rediculous. From the looks of it, it looks like the midpoint of the entire Bay Area. Concord is smack dab in the middle of san jose, san rafael, and sac. I think its a fair venue. This is an idea, what do you guys think?
Crosell Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 I would love it to be in concord :3 I wouldn't mind calling and asking questions , I just don't know what to ask :P
RinHara5aki Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Well its still up in the air, but just ask about how much it costs to hold a venue for like what, 12 hours or so? Thats the most important question. See how much space they have, how many tables, power outlets, internet speeds. It is a D&D based place so just keep your eye out for that. Oh another note, I think its fair because most BB events mostly ended up in San Jo, I think the turnout will be more varied and different if we hyped this up more and let the North Bay get light on this. I know they have internet too because IPW streams there. Also, I think its San Jose's turn to start doing some driving around, and Spirit won't have to drive for like 4 hours to get there and back home lol.
