Nini Heart Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 huey253, yeah I haven't seen at the time when I made my post. His DD IS too good, but outside of that he is a well balanced character. 2A that stops rolls can be used with pretty much any character, so I don't see how that gives him an advantage, option-select DD is null if you delay your roll. But hey, look at Tao who has godlike speed, mobility and mixup and easily gets 3.5K+ mid screen. Look at Jin, who got buffed from CS1 while being a solid A tier character. Noel and Makoto with easy 5K damage, add 50 heat and you get 6K+. Carl with his doll can reset the crap out of your life bar and there's only so much you can do to get out. Corner only or with meter PLZ. I have to say though, i'm kinda mad at how they made her braindead in this game. Yay 2C>214BD for 2k damage... Noel is not as braindead, she needs loops and shit to get damage, but Makoto in CS2 isjust stupid. Easy combos, easy damage.
huey253 Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 they forgot to give 2C repeat proration, so now she uses it like 5 times in her combo ahahha noel is mash d until you win
Jourdal Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 I know we don't care about CS1...but watching some of the SBO matches....Team UFO, and Stunedges team performed really well. Dora VS KV was hype.
Lord Knight Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 The DVD is out already? I remember hearing that Stunedge's team was really close to getting to r2.
Nini Heart Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 they forgot to give 2C repeat proration, so now she uses it like 5 times in her combo ahahha noel is mash d until you win Seeing how they reduced invincibility on D, NOPE.
advancedNoob Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Did you not see recent Noel videos? They mash 2D like there's no tomorrow...

Raptor Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Is most of the Noel stigma in CS2 mostly coming from her CH 2D? Using 2D still requires you to use a brain to read the opponent correctly seeing as how it's still a high risk move and easily punished if used incorrectly.
huey253 Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 i think i should just be straight forward. I was overexaggerating. but noel with more d is
advancedNoob Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 SBO Dora vs Kid Viper looked pretty epic! Raptor, I'm obviously missing something here. I don't have a lot of experience vs Noel, but I played a few good ones and 2D/5D was not pretty when they aren't just spammed by someone. Explain to me, please, suppose you are Hazama without meter, how will you punish blocked 2D since expanding chain revolver with A string makes it safe on block (at least I couldn't jab out of it). Even if you do manage to sneak in 2A, it's still far below 1K. What about Jin and Ragna? Sure, they can DP, but Ragna's DP outside the corner will yield less than 1K punish, while 2D on hit provides 4.5K combo. Same goes for Jin. Her risk/reward is FAR from fair.
Zeromus_X Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Himajin vs Stunedge was pretty mathematical. Though it kind of seemed like Himajin mashed DP and didn't really care sometimes. I hate how "safe" Tsubame is. =/
natearistata Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DVACLIeBHIg#t=11m58s How exactly does that move of hers work? I don't know anything about it, but it almost looks like a dead angle that doesn't require meter? Almost every video I see of Platinum, I see that move used once or twice and it seems really good.

That's the bat, which is one of Platinum's drive attacks. It has F1 invincibility, although I'm not sure if anyone's figured out exactly how long it lasts for. Edit: I believe it's Platinum's only reversal besides her cure dot typhoon DD. Edited January 14, 2011 by OmegaZyklon

Explain to me, please, suppose you are Hazama without meter, how will you punish blocked 2D She can pretty much make it safe on block with follow up 4D, optic barrel. What you wanna do is mash 5A>5C to AA her out of it if you can react that fast or just 5A mash if you predict a 2D. 5D gets eaten by moves with a lot of active frames, 2D gets eaten by anti airs.
advancedNoob Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 So basically when someone says "2D is very unsafe", they WAY over exaggerate...
Konner Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 Moving past potentially top characters; how are Tsubaki and Tager doing? Better, worse, etc..?
smooshman Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 you knew that that jin was going to be good when he was playing mind games at the color screen.
Eshi Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 Moving past potentially top characters; how are Tsubaki and Tager doing? Better, worse, etc..?The instant block change buffed Tsubaki's offensive pressure enormously, the difference looks like night and day. Combined with getting access to charge moves much faster she looks legitimately threatening. Tager is still Tager.
TheDarkWall Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 wait, really??? I thought tager was supposed to be looking pretty decent now what happened?
smooshman Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 Tager is still Tager. his 6A buff makes him at least look atleast more threatening than a small koala. speaking of which pink jin ran out of runback cards on tager.
Jourdal Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 his 6A buff makes him at least look atleast more threatening than a small koala. speaking of which pink jin ran out of runback cards on tager. Pink Jin = Yutta, the same one Stunedge ran it back on a few weeks ago, former Ragna. Anyways...i don't see a lot tagers using 6A like they were in the beginning, but...guardbreak GETB ftw.....as for Tsubaki...from what i understand she's really good..but most of the people who play her seem to be in CS1 mode and think they're still playing a bad character
Airk Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 The instant block change buffed Tsubaki's offensive pressure enormously, the difference looks like night and day. Combined with getting access to charge moves much faster she looks legitimately threatening. It's not just the instant block changes - they've clearly done some 'under the hood' changes to her normals to remove holes in her blockstrings, and allow some things to combo that never did before. There's still not really that much info on her though - there was a Jin vs Tsubaki match in the last set of videos and about the only thing you can learn from it is that Jin can tech throws and Tsubaki can't. :P
