Dacidbro Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 (edited) Okay, I'm sold. See you guys in Socal. Also, Orion, Lolllllll Edited February 1, 2011 by Dacidbro
Senkei Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 Nothingxs it is really pointless to argue with these guys since Cali would much rather drive to this tourney instead of flying over Florida just to lose . Final Round is where I will be doing most of my work to make sure BB has a very strong presence at CEO. Being a staff member of CEO, I'm very disappointed on the negligence of this tourney and it's kind of bullshit for anyone to say they had no idea of CEO. On that note Rin shouldn't be crucified for it but that was inevitable since the post was on SRK. All I can give you players assurance on is that the tourney will be 1. Well run: by BB players with myself as the lead. 2. Not shady: Alex Jebailey throws great tournaments and supports BB. 3. Fun Area: This is in my neck of the woods so I know whats up just make sure your 21 4. Great competition: Cali isn't the only state with self-proclaimed top players. 5. Hype: Cause I never stop yelling I would like Cali to come out and actually prove to the US that they travel more than never but thats on them. See you guys at Final Round/CEO/EVO.
Yuushiro Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 Just how much money will you be taking lol..., I dunno... if your bang also improved and it'll be BBCS1 it'll still be a challenge

I won't stop and counter-point out all the obvious trolling (which I hope you're joking about), but you should ask for the CEO thread to be stickied. It was posted over 2 weeks ago and no one has made a post in it except for the OP. If it's supposed to be treated like a major, then it should be represented like one. I had no clue CEO was happening, as I don't check SRK. I also don't look at tournament threads made by someone I don't recognize or that only have 1 post in them after 2 weeks. With that said, I won't be going to either, but I hope these tournaments bring some hype together for EVO.
Dacidbro Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 Man, did you really make that avatar? I'd take it down to keep your tournament's professional image.
Senkei Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 I did not make that Avatar but i thought it was a little bit funny. I will remove it if you all think it's that offensive. Stickbug: It was more joking as far as the little pokes towards Cali but how this drama is going down with tournament dates and such really got me bothered. I am working to get a guaranteed pot for BB but it will take a little time since that money will be coming from the BB community not sponsors.

I hope everything works out for CEO... we need more tournaments inbetween FR and EVO. There's always a huge lull after FR until either next next iteration of BB or EVO, and it always makes the community look lazy. I'll be at EVO, and I can't wait to play you again... don't think I've seen you since like, '08 NEC?
Senkei Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 I hear ya and yes shit that was 2008 oh gg the things you made me do, Good times for sure.
CopperDabbit Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 I'm glad this now has a more positive spin to it. The NorCal Express is as geared as it ever was to kick ass, take names and win dem moniez. HyperBolic Time Chamber Training GO GO GO GO! I don't really like doing money matches, but I'll throw down FT3 $5 with a handful of people I guess. But only if I've never played them before. And finally, lol @ Senaki saying Cali would lose if we went to florida. Am I the only one that remembers our Mirror Matches on PSN?
natearistata Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 Aren't purple throws the only viable moves in netplay? I'm pretty sure that's how it works.
Crosell Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 Aren't purple throws the only viable moves in netplay? I'm pretty sure that's how it works. Dont you mean only viable in NorCal
RinHara5aki Posted February 1, 2011 Author Posted February 1, 2011 I did not make that Avatar but i thought it was a little bit funny. I will remove it if you all think it's that offensive. I have been as patient as I can with whole deal, and trying to keep quiet about it, but I feel very hurt by the remark said on here. The main point is I'm now associated with something I'm not, which was failure for tournament organization. I was only commissioned to create a promotional, and now I'm the face of tournament legacy. I appreciate nothingx responding and being repectful about it. But the fact that you thought it was funny doesn't bring light thoughts to me. I understand florida is frustrated, but please don't associate me with this misfortune of planning.
PozerWolf Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 And finally, lol @ Senaki saying Cali would lose if we went to florida. Am I the only one that remembers our Mirror Matches on PSN? Are there any side bets going on here? I'll put money on Copper.
CEO Jebailey Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 (edited) I have been as patient as I can with whole deal, and trying to keep quiet about it, but I feel very hurt by the remark said on here. I understand florida is frustrated, but please don't associate me with this misfortune of planning. Hi, I'm Alex Jebailey, The main man behind CEO. I'm doing my best to stay out of this and off the SRK thread debate about the whole situation. I want the BBCS Community to succeed and I'm glad you guys are getting a big event and I wish it the best, and I'm sorry you felt like you're the center of blame on this one Rin even though you were just helping out promotional wise so none of this should be an attack on you (And Sorry for the avatar which pretty much 100% of my supporters found funny and nobody really knew who the avatar was about, it was just about the Revelations event as a whole.) With that said The reason why this has become such a big deal is because the man behind Tournament Legacy even admitted to me directly that he was not aware of any other events going on because he does not keep up to date with the community( I was contacted after my CEO Trailer went live http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ctq7BmKq-J0&feature=player_embedded) and had to keep hush on the date because of his "sponsors" . That community makes up 75% of the attendees for any of these tournaments that go on all the time throughout the year. You can't do good things for a community if you have literally no part in it or care to check. On my end for over 2 months since November contacted EVERYONE top guy on the west coast(Mostly in the Street Fighter World) to make sure that nobody was planning anything on this E3 Weekend and I was told, nope you're good to go nothing will come up by one of TL's partners themselves which I won't name. So even people helping out had no idea when it would happen, If I had known someone else thought of a big tournament I would of looked at other dates, but even My Full on research came up with nothing, So I moved ahead with putting together one of the most legit tournaments I could ever possibly come up with and if you check out ceogaming.org you'll see the venue in Orlando, FL can't be touched. I'm committed to my venue and event dates unless people wanna give me 20,000 bucks to cancel the contract, and even then I wouldn't do it cause I care about the community and bringing people together. It's a shame there will be a divide on this event and will make both suffer rather then having 2 amazing events on 2 seperate dates, but in the end, my event will be a success because It's all out of my own pocket and I have the entire community behind me and Big names like Mike Ross/Gootecks and others with more community power to help advertise my event and get more name players so I'm on track for a great event, I feel bad for TL cause I know they'll be sweating every move I continue to make. Everyone deserves success if they try hard for it, but before you can make a move, you need to do your research and not step on anyone else's toes like I did for months before this all happened. Good luck to everyone that attends either event, just remember those who attend EVO will get more recognition than any other BBCS tournament. Again Rin Sorry for the backlash and best of luck to you, and I honestly enjoyed your trailer, keep up the good work. Jebailey Out. Edited February 1, 2011 by CEO Jebailey

Copper: Okay yes netplay with 1 bar you beat me 6-2. I also had the game for about 6 days . Yes that completely scares the dogshit out of me from playing you, and will stop any other shit talking that will commence. I also hope you don't think 6c and grab is actually going to work over here. I haven't seen you do any other mix-ups besides that but thats cali's problem really more than yours. @Rin: Man I'm sorry about the AV. The part I found funniest about it was the CSI Jebailey part at the end... which is a CFL thing about getting Jebaited.
RinHara5aki Posted February 1, 2011 Author Posted February 1, 2011 (edited) *snip Really appreciate it Alex. I understand that you've been going through hell with this turn of events, and I'm glad that while you're steadfast and strong on CEO, that Revelations can happen as well. Sure, the player split will be sad, but honestly, I've never seen anything like this happen before, two enormous tournaments on opposite coasts at the same time, I believe something original can come of this. Im sticking Tournament Legacy throughout this, so good luck, and lets hope that we both have amazing turnouts! Edited February 2, 2011 by RinHara5aki
CEO Jebailey Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 Really appreciate it Alex. I have to stick with Tournament Legacy throughout this, so good luck, and lets hope that we both have amazing turnouts! No Problem, Don't think you should of posted my quote on the SRK Thread cause now I have to get involved lol. That's why I said I'm not trying to get involved with the debate. Oh well, it covers my general feelings on it.

Undone sorry It seems the real debate is over, now its just players choosing events for their own reasons. I'm glad it got to that point.
Ben Reed Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 While I doubt that very many of the California players reading this thread are on the fence about which event to attend, for those few who might still be debating, I feel compelled to say two things: 1. Don't underestimate Florida. We're not as podunk as you might think when it comes to BB. Senkei, Hotnix, Mystic, Lord Cruxis, all very strong players just to name a few. Tsak in particular has really tightened his game since he first got onto BBCS, and I believe that anyone who underestimates his Arakune is in for a very long and painful ride on the Bee Train. And if that doesn't really sway you, well, we're closer to the rest of EC than you guys are, so our prospects are pretty good for attracting imported talent from up north to sweeten the pot. The possibility exists that you guys can mosey on out to the Sunshine State and humiliate a gigantic swath of EC in one fell swoop. Send a shockwave all up and down I-75 and laugh all the way to EVO. How's THAT for food for your egos? 2. Don't underestimate Jebailey. He might look like an upstart to people who have never heard of him, but when it comes to running events he's thorough, he's genial, he's resourceful, he's honest and transparent, and for all the good-natured shit he talks on the game, he believes in the BB community. (And of course he confers regularly with respected BB players like Senkei to keep his finger on the community's pulse.) He's busting his ass to erase the stigma of G.A.-you-know-what from our fair-ish city/state, and any support you can offer by showing up to his event won't just enrich our local scene, it enriches the national scene. Cultural exchange between regions breeds advancement and success in all regions, and for too long the Southeast has been a blind spot on the fighting-game map for all but the one month Final Round takes place. Help us build towards another major and let's milk this new-generation fighting game glut for all it's worth.
TGS Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 Only one good thing can come out of this whole fiasco... I propose a CEO winner vs. Revelations winner FT10 grudge match at Evo. Get hype!
SuperFX Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 I propose that a) a mod cleans out all the debate and b) that FL stop pimping CEO in this thread. There's a whole lot of he said/she said bullshit going on here, so let's all just agree to disagree and move forward. Both sides are committed to their tourney, so be mad somewhere else.
