Hecatom Posted March 6, 2011 Author Posted March 6, 2011 (edited) Meh, not another one of those Carl,Lieselotte types and its a shame because I like her design. actually it looks more like kohaku - hisui combo from mb than a carl esque character to me, and no, those kind of chars arent equally in terms of gameplay, imo with chars like zato and carl, you have to position your partner deliberately and think and play for 2 chars at the same time, for chars like kohaku and hisui, and from what this one seems to be, its more like a char with an assist that only take actions when you do the commands, otherwise its folllowing you automatically around the screen, so you only basically use the partner as a combo extender, and maybe for certain setups, not as complicated like managing 2 chars at the same time Edited March 6, 2011 by Hecatom
Akiro Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 Fuck yes, a Carl type character. Now I have even more reason to play this game.
Kain Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 Maybe its because I never played any JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. I play Jojo's, and I think you're wrong here. Yes, you control 2 characters at the same time with characters who have 'active' Stands, but for the most part, you'll be using them to set up tandem mixups and to attack, not necessarily have to worry about where they're positioned, especially as you can control your Stand without moving with a special command. Devo is the only real Carl-like char in the game, and Carl has to control both his sister and himself at the same time while worrying about resources, where Devo only has to worry about his doll when he's applying pressure or when he wants to be a dick and attack you from fullscreen. So what if his doll dies? He gets it back in a second anyway. (this is the opinion of a Jojo's scrub who plays a char with no Stand, is one of the worse characters in the game and has a SF4 Akuma gameplan) I honestly hope this game is good on launch, looks really hype.
Ichipoo Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 Meh, not another one of those Carl,Lieselotte types and its a shame because I like her design. I, for one, have great respect for people who are good at playing Carl-like characters. The playstyle appeals to me, but I simply don't have enough skill to make it work. Even the fact that I tend to lose to them often doesn't change that. This, this so much.
SolxBaiken Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 Wow didn't know people placed so much value into archetypes, maybe it's due to the fact I'll never have another character that plays like Baiken ; A; I'm just concerned Aoi isn't for me because her Persona did most of the work = w= Well 5 down, 5 to go, still hoping for a really appealing character...
F. Wily Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 (edited) actually it looks more like kohaku - hisui combo from mb than a carl esque character to me, and no, those kind of chars arent equally in terms of gameplay, imo True, that seems rather reasonable.... Wow didn't know people placed so much value into archetypes, maybe it's due to the fact I'll never have another character that plays like Baiken ; A; You would be surprised... I mean how many times have you seen some guy in a white gi. That said, if I find what I like... I wouldn't really care about the archetypes the character is based on. Edited March 17, 2011 by F. Chris Chaos Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 He reminds me of Freeman from Garou design and gameplay wise, which makes him an instant main for me. You know what? I thought the exact same thing when I saw Carmine too. BTW, Carmine is a guy (sorry if I'm hells late on this)? If so, that is hard to believe.
kazukifafner Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 You know what? I thought the exact same thing when I saw Carmine too. BTW, Carmine is a guy (sorry if I'm hells late on this)? If so, that is hard to believe. Yeah, apparently it was officially confirmed by a twitter post (or maybe a blog post, idk) from French Bread. Maybe it's just me, but I already thought it was pretty obvious Carmine was a guy anyway :/
Halcyone3 Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 Yeah, apparently it was officially confirmed by a twitter post (or maybe a blog post, idk) from French Bread. Maybe it's just me, but I already thought it was pretty obvious Carmine was a guy anyway :/ same, there was definitely no way those were boobs >_>'
Hecatom Posted March 17, 2011 Author Posted March 17, 2011 everyone assumed that carmine was a dude, the problem started when sites revealing the information put him as a she :/
WeegeeRux Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 I can't believe i was tricked to believe he was a girl....
Starlight777 Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 Don't worry Fox from Bloody Roar is a trap people should feel bad falling for. In Carmine's case it was just the hair and his feminine portrait.
Hecatom Posted May 3, 2011 Author Posted May 3, 2011 damn you people, i thouht that there was some news about the game -__-
Delrian Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 damn you people, i thouht that there was some news about the game -__- I'm glad I wasn't the only one...
Aegis High Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 I'm glad I wasn't the only one... LOL me too, I had forgotten about this game.
SolxBaiken Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 Hey guys lets keep posting about our disappointment at nothing being new posted in here without contributing anything = 3= Seriously though I've been waiting to see a character I should care about or at least listen to more of the music (I'm still humming the trailer song often)
SoWL Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 I wonder if anyone wrote down the text from the trailer by now. I'd still like to try and translate it: maybe it has some more plot details, and every single bit counts.
Ichipoo Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 I can't believe i was tricked to believe he was a girl....Shoutouts to you for making me think there was new news for this game.
kazukifafner Posted May 4, 2011 Posted May 4, 2011 I wonder if anyone wrote down the text from the trailer by now. I'd still like to try and translate it: maybe it has some more plot details, and every single bit counts. Well, I'm about as amateur as you can get when it comes to translating, but: First Line: Our anticipated new arcade project is about to begin. Second Line: The mysterious event rumored among the people - "Night of the Void" ("Immortalize") Third Line: Living eagerly, Searching for a soul, Fourth Line: A monster that consumes existence - "Oblivion" ("Immortal") Fifth Line: The person who can awaken anywhere and everywhere - "False Born One" ("Inverse") Sixth Line: On that fateful night, people will gather. Seventh Line: To protect what they must. Eigth Line: None would hand them over. Ninth Line: The ever-repeating battle. Tenth Line: And then, coming soon - "Seven Days of Endless Infinity" ("Seven Days Immortal") "That man's will . . . before it happens, I'll do it myself. That's all there is to it." The mocked boy who accidentally became involved in multiple events at once - Hyde "It's fine isn't it? [For that as well, we have the reason for the sword of the night](?). We'll advance through the mountains and rivers of death." The one who appears before Hyde, "The Girl from the Chance Meeting" - Linne "Fighting is heartless. Power is all that matters. Those with thin arms should realize their powerlessness!" The one who lives forever, "The Mysterious Old Man with Strong Arms" - Waldstein "Heh heh heh . . . that face is great. Isn't it the best? That beautiful face is so warped." Whose desires are insane and pleasurable, "The Beginning's Red" - Carmine Eleventh Line: From the production staff behind "Melty Blood", an original 2D fighting game. Twelfth Line: Native HD resolution, [3 times the conventional ratio!]* *No clue what this is second half is supposed to mean. Thirteenth Line: Super high definition character sprites! Fourteenth Line: The life of the 2D Fighting Game! Pulse pounding action! Fifteenth Line: Character sprites overflowing with personality! Sixteenth Line: High Definition graphics that even show expression! Seventeenth Line: The fighting engine is even more refined! Eighteenth Line: Run on the stage of a new fight! Nineteenth Line: The challenge to reach the top! Twentieth Line: The best of all fighting games! Twenty-first Line: [Encompassing the whole French Bread team!]? Something like that. I didn't translate the very last image (mainly because I didn't feel like it).
Mr. Kimura Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 I'm interested in that guy with the scythe, I'm eagerly awaiting for more character reveals.
Kaisukex Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 This game looks Awesome! another game to look forward too.
Tachyons Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 Some updates they posted this May. Thanks to Erkz for the translations: - We said we'd try to have the game in operation by the end of the year, but it's been delayed to Spring next year. I'm sorry, everyone! It'd be nice if we finished before Spring though. ^^; - Koihime AC is seriously coming out! - About the AM Show Exhibit... There's been some trouble regarding the voice actor contracts, and while the game's pretty good without voice acting... I don't want to admit defeat, orz. Oh well, we'll think of something. - Sorry for the hold up. The next stream's broadcasting date has been decided. It will be held on the 19th at 23:00. Hecatom Posted May 24, 2011 Author Posted May 24, 2011 why no one is talking about the stream? i guess that everyone missed it, but the good thing is that its archived on the link above
