Week 1 tournament this thursday at foonzo

The game just came out so we want to start making it hype right away! No one really has experience with the game so it's a fresh start for all of us. There will be more serious tournaments in the following weeks, and we have casuals at foonzo every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday.

Free entry fee (foonzo's rules still apply, you must buy food at the venue and be 18+). Prize : I will buy the winner a beer from foonzo! (or juice or something if you don't drink...)

Start time is 8 PM, but if you can only be there later, let us know and we'll add you to the bracket.

The format will be decided depending on the amount of entrants. We should have multiple stations with the game on that day. Tournament will be run on PS3 most likely. There will be a stream : twitch.tv/bibiquadium

For those who were interested in KoFXIII but didn't want to hunt down a physical copy of the game, you're in luck.

I actually got my copy for $20 whereas this PSN version is $30. Just a head's up.

It's got mind games, mixup, okizeme. And best of all, i just discovered that it IS possible to parry online reliably. Love this game !!!

also it has the ultimate lobster mode.

Yo, for real, the Souls series of games are some of the best games I've ever played. The atmosphere and gameplay just blend seamlessly. I don't know what it is, but FROM worked some dark art and we got DmS/DrK Souls.

Artorias may very well be the best character in the universe. We know this despite the fact HE'S NOT EVEN IN THE GAME IN ANY WAY. Do you realize how good the world shapeing has to be to be able to pull this off in a game with so little dialogue?! Also if i had to pick a place to come from, i'd probably be from the Great Swamp. Pyromancy literally == Tamashii. Straight up !

Edit: Also how could i ever forget. Solaire is actually Shishigami Bang-u in disguise. He's grossly incandescent.

The world-building is incredible in the Souls games. The locations and dialogue just speak to you. You could say the lore just comes to you as you play the game, rather than relegating it to a menu like too many games do today. It's freakin' fantastic.

I used to main Artorias' sword, too, so I got to feel badass for a while. I'm a little bit less badass with my Divine Zweihander +10, but it still feels manly to swing it around.

Also, gimme Demon Ruins/Lost Izalith or the Painted World. I totally love those places! :D

Can I join the tourney via netplay? This is in no way an absolutely terrible idea, and I'm sure everything will run juuuuust fine with the venue internet.

Everyone is gonna be mashing anyway, how is that any different from netplay?

If anyone has a 360 version of P4U, it would be appreciated if you could bring it to Foonzo tonight so we can have additional setups using the cabs. If someone could bring a PS3 too it would be nice. If we get a lot of people we'll need a lot of setups.
