GGs last night, Pedro. I noticed your Mu improved. My Valk needs a ton more practice. I need to get better at using wolf to move around. He sucks against zoning.

On the other hand, you're 1000 years too early to challenge my Haku.

Real men get up past 1 PM. Superheroes get up at 5 am

I'll give you my impressions on your valk, I don't play him or play against him a lot, but I think these are just general things that apply to any character.

1) your spacing is slightly off, you do many attacks from too far (but Mu's hitbox becomes so big when she does attacks, to explain some random hits you got that were too far to pick up)

2) your jump ins are kinda predictable. I try to react but lag screwed up my timings which led to counterhits that were supposed to be the other way around.

3) your mixup isn't a mixup. Use more lows/command grabs. Too much night yager, that jin that was used to playing online IB-punished every time.

4) I felt like you were afraid of getting in or taking risks, or maybe you just don't know when to get in. Here's the data : they made steins fire faster in CS2 and made the command laser faster too, but if you look at frame data, CS2 steins have 107F until they fire but can be jump cancelled on frame 21, command laser comes out on frame 46, but here's where it becomes interesting. Ground command laser has 63 F recovery, but air command laser has 5 F recovery after I hit the ground. If you're close enough, super through it or something. So yeah, when I blow them up and whiff I'm like ooh shit, but you don't do anything about it. I can't tell if it's a good or bad matchup, but I think Mu can easily keep valk out, he really has to work/guess his way in, make Mu afraid of using some tools. However once you land a hit, if you don't drop and make a successful reset/mixup, GG. It's kind of like vs Makoto, but you don't have 3C or 214X barrier so harder to get in, but you do have that command grab.

About your haku, we gotta play more. I'm going to blame lag for mistakes in spacing and reactions (I try to make an effort to guess as little as possible), but it's a rather interesting matcup with quite some depth and is always fun/frustrating to play. The fact that you can come up with such a conclusion after only 1 or 2 games, with lag, concludes that you are purely talking shit and I will have to rectify this situation next time you come to a meetup. Starting in early January, EVO is partnering with the top grass-roots tournament organizers to form a regular season of fighting games. Our 2011 season will run from January through July, culminating in the EVO World Finals July 29-31 at the Rio Hotel and Resort, Las Vegas. At each stop of the tournament season, players will earn ranking points that will directly determine their seed in the tournament brackets at the EVO World Finals. With literally thousands of players attending the finals, you're going to want to secure that seed if you want to advance far in the brackets.

Haha, no, that's not a spoiler at all. I posted it for the obvious reason that it's a guy punching his monitor out. Doesn't have anything to do with Madoka although I have kept up with the show, which is weird because I haven't seen any anime in a year+. I just heard comments about "episode 3", gave it a watch and it's suddenly a guilty pleasure. The more horrible the show becomes, the bigger my enjoyment. :P

Anyway, thanks for the advice on my Valk, though all I really need right now is practice and experience. I still can't even finish a single combo and I have no idea how to approach let alone mixup or anything like it. I'm mashing stuff out at best.

The meeting is noted, sir. However, I will probably not be putting on my pink silk gloves on Sunday. It might have to wait for another week or two. Keep your stick well oiled.

Ugh I hate doing combos online. My muscle memory tells me "okay now you have to press C" but my eyes are still telling me "wait for it... wait for it...". As long as you can do them in training mode, eventually they'll land in offline matches, but you probably know that. Hima plays valk and is a beast if I'm not mistaken, check his CS2 stuff out.

Lol madoka, yeah I just watched ep 5 I think. I assumed that it was a spoiler where those 2 lolis had actually teamed up and it was all going according to plan (à la death note).

Look forward to trading blows with you again, I'm not sure I'll go online tonight, though. I leave my stick at the HQ and everyone uses it so it should be already warmed up when we'll need to face off, I hope you don't mind.

I loved the part where you beat everyone in the room :3. And yes to answer your question, all them matches were on my freshly modded arcade stick ! Everything works flawlessly. And i'm slowly designing the incorporation of PS2 capability. Can't wait to show you !

And uh. I don't really know that much about concordia, but I do know that polytechnique you can get a beer for 1.75 or a pitcher for 6$ at the uni's pub. At initiations we had free beer starting at 9 AM. I'm don't drink THAT much so I don't know everything about it, but there's probably a lot more than that going on. Engineering and alcohol go together apparently.

Fixed, and no. He's in Toronto visiting his family he hasn't seen for like two or three years and I have two exams on the 11th. On top of that, for pretty much every weekend since I got mvc3 for my bday, people have been coming over to play me. Causing me to go to sleep around the hours of 3-6 a.m. So I need to get work done.

So I won't be coming to anymore meets until the 15th (the day of my last exam).

But when I do come back they'll be a surprise waiting for you guys. It's not extremely hype, but moderately hype. One hint is that Nini won't like it directly, but indirectly he will.

Not true, being good at a fighter doesn't mean you're not worth being mentioned. As long as it's not retardedly dumbed down, then it's a legit game with legit tactics and depth. That's all that matter ken, and yes you have been improving significantly. One of your best traits is adapting to the advance people give to you immediately.
