excelence Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Mid air asteroid vision please XD ... kinda agree with shitty mobility, and now i'm kind of curious about AV trajectory adjustment.
StarGazer Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Mid air asteroid vision please XD ... kinda agree with shitty mobility, and now i'm kind of curious about AV trajectory adjustment. double jump > AV C~D but if they nerfed our mixup, pressure, and damage but they buffed our mobility, then that means she is not makoto anymore right?... more like chipp zanuff now:?:
Crosell Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Not really sure where you are getting that. cs1 Makoto had great mobility with asteroid vision. I long for the days of 214c barrier cancel. It made lambda so much easier to deal with.
HIGEKING42 Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 i never use astroid vision to close in on my opponent because i get too predictable.
LiveWireX Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 Well, I'm having some oddly different troubles now, lol. I don't know if it's partly due to the fact that after so long of playing Pad and getting a Stick on Tuesday, I seem to be having difficulty dashing, air dashing, and well, not jumping straight up by trying to frantically press forward to run (since I feel dashing takes more effort). But anyway, still having problems with parts of the 2B>6A>2D>2C>214B~D bit. I guess some of it could be that I'm not sure if they're supposed to cross up over you after 2D making it so you just have to turn around and 2C, or what, since I keep doing the D part of 214B~D and hitting it so it connects when they've practically landed on the ground. As well, there's a couple of combos where it's in the corner and says stuff like 5D>2C, but...5D in the corner sends you way back from them, and it doesn't mention a dash, so I dunno. It's weird because I want to learn her, but a lot of this stuff just seems really intimidating and her like BnB combos, and like "simple combo" this or "standard combo" that, is well, pretty long for a newbie. Did any of you guys run into stuff like that?
Crosell Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 (edited) One less combo practice if you are transitioning and just focus on motions first. You will develop bad habits, slow things down a bit. This combo, is this mid screen? Whats your starter? a grab? yes you have to dash to do a 5d 2c For the most part, she isn't overly combo difficult, she has a few awkward motions, 66 6a as one or 2366ad as another. Its just learning her d moves. Her mid screen combos are simple, as you can go pretty for with just a dempsey roll ender. Hit confirming is the most important thing for her. Makoto loves OKI. LiveWireX Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 If it helps, the combo I was practicing off of to try and get used to the motion started with a Back Throw into the 2B. And I suppose you're right that practicing the combos when I'm not used to the movement (as like I said, some things like button placements, the R triggers being on the left side of the L triggers for example, and getting the movement commands, is taking longer than I'd like) could slow progress. I'm probably just doing it that way because it's like, I kinda feel "I've practiced these before, so I should know this". But realistically, I probably have to swallow my pride and realize it is kind of like starting over in a bunch of ways.
Crosell Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 It is starting over, you rebuilding all your muscle memory. I can't help you with that combo, whenever I do 4bc step back 2b 6a 2d I always go under them and it just whiffs completely.
LiveWireX Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Thanks for all the help again, Crosell. I was really just trying that combo to try and get me used to some of the strings and that. I'd be the last person to know if most of the time a 2D>2C is supposed to involve them going over top of you and flying behind you, or away from you making you have to dash 2C, lol. I'll probably just need a bunch of practice anyway. After all, I get the feeling all of you guys who picked her up in CS2, or even CS1 had a bunch of problems like this too, so it's probably not as uncommon as I think.
Crosell Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 It shouldn't it should be a consistent corner push towards one directions. I'd look through this thread for a combo video, I don't remember who posted it but its very good, and a lot of these combos weren't used in cs1 :3
LiveWireX Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Will do. And I gotta ask, are you usually this helpful to people? lol
Crosell Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Most of the time. I figure I owe it to the board, since people like Omni have helped me out so much.
StarGazer Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 the back throw > walk back combo difficulty depends on the opponent hitbox. you might want to do another combo if you find it too hard or if you were fighting someone with weird hitbox.
LiveWireX Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Yeah, you've probably got a point. That being said, learning a new character + learning stick at the same time, probably makes things slightly harder than they need to be.
HIGEKING42 Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 lucky for you people my stick is messed up so i still use my pad. I have no money to mod it and i'm fine as it is.
OmniSScythe Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 I'm considering uploading some matches that I may have saved, anyone have any request as to which characters should be in there like against Carl or Rachel?
Chaos11 Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 I'd like to see how you handle some Noels. Thanks Omni
FFMX323 Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 Hey Omni I would like to see how you handle other Makotos and Tager as well. Thanks.
StarGazer Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 that will be awesome, thanks omni. i want to see you handle a gdlk tager and taokaka
OmniSScythe Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 I'd like to see how you handle some Noels. Thanks Omni I don't any matches saved at the moment against her but I'm gonna try getting a match with one of the NVG's Noels. Hey Omni I would like to see how you handle other Makotos and Tager as well. Thanks. that will be awesome, thanks omni. i want to see you handle a gdlk tager and taokaka I'll try to get a match with one of the Makoto's on my friend list as well for Tager and Tao.
Nini Heart Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 I'd like to see Rachel and how you cope with the loss of 214B/C > barrier. I personally find her 2a really annoying, it's as fast as Makoto's and reaches further than it looks.
OmniSScythe Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 (edited) So I'm uploading Rachel (PervertQ) Carl (Isuyaru) Ragna (Nineball) and Huey (Bang) for today... well some time tomorrow. ...actually make that Wednesday. Edited August 20, 2011 by OmniSScythe
HIGEKING42 Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 i'd like to see how you deal with litchi and mu 12
Heaven Posted August 25, 2011 Posted August 25, 2011 I'd like to see how you deal with Lambda. I know that the matchup is supposed to be fairly even, BUT I JUST CAN'T DEAL!
