[CS2] Platinum the General #2: Now with 100% more mahou shoujos!

Thanks peeps, I was thinking I was the only one having problems. I do win pretty often, I guess I just get frustrated when I realize that all but 3 or 4 of her matchups are massive struggles. Getting stuck on defense for half a match is fucking irritating too, right now I need to find ways to break out of Bang's blockstrings of salt and Rachel's corner strings other than blocking for 30 seconds at a time.

You're right Urichinan, Extend is right around the corner, so there's no real point in dropping her at this point anyway. And I had never thought about using 5A in her pressure like that.

Spud the skill level of Plat mains in JP goes from bad to good, there isn't any A+ Plat mains.

Actually I'm not sure what you mean here.

TL;DR I'm still a scrub and Platinum is a dirty, dirty cocktease

There is really no "great" Plat mains.

Shiromadoushi is good and Kyaku or whatever that Carl players name is who also uses Plat are the best ones.

I did enjoy that A-cho cake colored Plat who uses Heartcar.

Rachel isn't that bad for me but then again I IB a lot of stuff to move in quicker so I could be wrong.

Bang is actually in our favor lol.

Hi, umm... I'm new to playing online and competitively...

I'm trying to learn combos and tips on my own, and I've done some of the challenges, but I'm no good going head to head with other online players. I play usually as Rachel, Noel and now Platinum, but I really would like to get used to using Platinum.

I play on PS3, and I don't know what I'm up against a lot. Or rather, I don't know how to deal with the situations I'm faced with, and I panic. I'm looking for help somehow, and I've always wanted to talk on the dustloop forums, but I'm always scared. I'm unknowing of the lingo that is used for fighting games except for the whole directions and A B C and D. It's a pleasure to finally write. I hope you guys can help me.

Welcome to the Platinum boards! I'd say the best way to learn how to deal with certain situations is by recreating them in Training Mode. Trying to find punishable gaps in blockstrings, and etc. and if you want to learn about lingo and terminology you should go to the beginner's section of Dustloop http://www.dustloop.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?100-Beginner-Mode here is the link. If you have any more questions, ask here or in the Q&A topic and don't be afraid to ask people for help, most of us are usually nice here. Enjoy your stay!

I still think Noel's has that title. bitch grabbed me out of backdash...FUCKING HEXANOID.

lol, I'm a fan of that shit too, but I usually only do that when I feel like I'm in control, like I'll jump back, and just before I land I'll do an Airdash and grab, it catches a surprising number of people.

Hello there Blibbles! Welcome!

You get the jitters when actually fighting players online? Had that when I started too. Here's some tips:

1. Learn some BnB combos from the Plat combo boards. Play and use those against the computer until you can beat Hell level AI.

2. Play online. Go to player matches and join any room that says "jp".

3. Get Ass Kicked. A lot.

4. Fight in Ranked. Be amazed on your Wins.

That'd build up your confidence. Good luck!

I'm just gonna leave this here~

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Because switching languages every time you use a character with a bad dub is dumber than using a character with a bad dub

I've been hearing lately that some of you are having problems performing the Bubbleless Hammer Loop consistantly. Is it the sj after 2C 5D or the j.C delays?

Posted

Does the timing for the super jump matter that much?

Do I have to delay the Super jump J.C or the second J.C for it to work?

WHY IS THERE SO MUCH YURI IN HERE!?

The Super Jump timing doesn't really matter, it's just the delay between the j'C's that's important. You want to nail the first j.C as high as you can, and then delay your second j.C until they are slightly below you.

NPG is sorta doing a yuri theme, which NVG did soooooo goddamn long ago, so NVG are hipster faggots, and NPG are poser scrubs

1. Because Yaoi is gay.

2. High as I can? that makes so much sense, I am gonna try that.

Edit: It would be so much easier if you guys just made a timing vid or tutorial on this because I obviously don't get how it works.

Whenever I try to delay it its level 2, when I do it as fast as possible its level 2, I thought it was a height thing but the hammer whiffs when I do that.

My practice dummies have been: Jin, Ragna, Carl, and Rachel.

Extend info is starting to come in. Seems like some things have changed from the loketests

P.S. loving the yuri avatars

Decided to take a stab at the Plat jbbs. Assuming this gossip has any sort of legitimacy, (it seems to, as many of the buffs/nerfs already confirmed were mixed in with ones we weren't aware of yet) it's not all fun and games for Plat in Extend. Although some changes we weren't aware of are quite nice, (3C untech on counter hit, followupable with 5C. godlike) CDT having more hitstun (although I think they say mami > mami > CDT still drops.. not sure. 【キュア受身不能時間増加、マミサ>マミサからでも落とさないように】).

As for nerfs, seems like 5A is slower (they say it feels sluggish, so). They also note the 6C FC Float as a nerf.. not sure. 【6CはFCしても浮かない】

They continue to mention 5C, Pan, Bat, Mami, and Fan having lower P1, and that CDT has less guarantee..? Not really sure about that either. 【キュア保障低下 】

If anyone else wants to take a stab, be my guest. Kinda late for translating this stuff right now so I didn't put a ton of effort into it. Remember, gossip is gossip. We won't really know anything until the videos start flushing in.

ps: the yuri avatars are obnoxious as fuck

I took a stab at it

  • With regular missile, 5C> 5D> JC> JD> DJ JC> something

    • 6C FC> JC> 5C> Mamisa> 5C> 2C × n still works, still raises the concentration of salt in the room.

      • 5A can only be chained 3 times , of course, and they say it has "compensation"?

        • Cat hammer is stronger and has more minimum range (no more will it whiff at closer ranges, but why the fuck were you using it close up to start with? I digress.), but has "compensation"
        • Also launches on CH now. Cue more salt and hatred towards Platinum.

          • She can combo off the Super Bat in the corner. At least one person didn't seem to find this worth the meter still iirc.
          • More importantly, her regular bat launches on CH, just like in the loketest (or something. Correct me if I read that wrong)

[*]Sounds like she can do a Hammer Loop with the Super Hammer at any height (as opposed to only after a Lvl 3 superjump). So no more bootleg delays in the air.

          [*]"With Special Hammer Mami> 5C> J.C> J.D> 5C> J.C> J.D"

[*]At least two people said that they felt 5B was a superior poke to 5A now. I support this. Horizontal range on a bitch.

          [*]Mami> 5C> Standing pan> 6C> j.236C> JC connects in the corner

[*]Sounds like CDT is a little harder to combo timing-wise

          [*]Stiff 5A is stiff

It's pretty rough, that's all I could really get.

EDIT: went through it again and fixed some mistakes. It's more accurate to the source, which I hope to god is legit.

My overall opinion: I think Platinum could have come out a LOT worse. Damage nerfs aplenty, but lots to make up for it. If her 5B is good enough to compete with Litchi's or Ragna's, I think it could give her a huge boost in most matchups. I'm thinking the devs wanted Platinum to shift more from a fast rushdown/unsafe mixup character to a (still-annoying) passive-aggressive character with above-average spacing options who also has some unsafe mixups to throw out once in a while. Y'know, like what they intended her to be to start with.

Please do correct me if I'm wrong on any of this, guys, I'm a scrub for a reason. Hope this helps.
