xlolxlolx Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 there will probably be an yes/no option for the youkai taking
Sahgren Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 According to this Siliconera article, it's been confirmed that it's not just youkai on the roster. We get to choose onmyouji too.
SoWL Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 I must say, "Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan" is one awkward translation. At least more info is coming.

SolxBaiken Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 Uhhh, no offense since I know NOTHING about the manga the game is based off of, but the gameplay looks super silly... It's screaming "party game" rather than "serious fighter" at the moment with all those screen spanning attacks, also it looks a bit confusing too. Like this is basically 1 on 1 with assist that are pretty much always on screen right? And why does the screen pan out so far? Well I'll just reserve further judgment, but should I check out the manga? Cause the characters look pretty interesting.
SoWL Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 Damn, my first thoughts were "Silly" and "Not a serious fighter", too. And I still like it, even though I haven't read the manga. For now, I hope that there will be a duel mode of sorts, just so I have something to do offline with my brother.
Sahgren Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 It also doesn't look like you can't tell the health of your assists, that could really get in the way of anyone trying to take it seriously. The manga is interesting. Little warning though: It takes a while to get rolling, since the author doesn't seem to know what he wants his plot/characters to be for the first ~20 chapters.
Hecatom Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 Trailer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0pHmaeVeTKQ&feature=feedu Gameplay Vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XVLOKRx_P_A&feature=feedu thanks for the links the game looks interesting so far like a fusion of smash with dbz legends and a naruto game
Starlight777 Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 This looks like Smash + Jump + any bullet hell Definitely more of a party fighter flavor.
Xtra_Zero Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 You know, I keep looking for a game that will destroy my perception that different stages in a fighting game are always a bad idea. I WANT there to be a good fighter with platforming in it. This does not seem to be that game, but it looks worth trying.
Hecatom Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 stuff Here's a little more information about the game that I translated from this scan: http://gamingeverything.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/nurarihyon_scan.jpg This is about the gauge at the bottom of the screen: Battles are determined by the Influence Gauge. By defeating the opposing Supreme Commander and their aides, the gauge changes and whoever pushes the gauge all the way to the other side is the winner! (Arrow pointing to the Influence Gauge) Various factors during battle affect how much of the gauge changes. For example, even if you defeat the opposing Supreme Commander that doesn’t immediately decide the battle. EDIT: Based on what I was told on the NIS message boards, due to a publishing deal ArcSys has with Aksys here our best bet for getting the game localized is either Konami or Aksys. Here's some more information I translated from here: http://www.konami.jp/products/nura_ps3/info.html I only translated information relevant to the battle system. Team Battle During battles in Nurarihyon no Mago Hyakki Ryouran Taisen, in addition to the Supreme Commander you are controlling, you take your aides and minions and form one team to do battle. During battle directing your aides and the timing of summoning your minions are vital tactics and utilizing these components are essential to how battles unfold. Because each character has different abilities and characteristics, you’ll be able to develop many different strategies depending on how you construct your team. Experiment with all of the combinations and create the strongest team! Combine your power with your companions and claim victory! As you defeat your opponents, the Influence Gauge at the bottom of the screen increases. Once your team’s side of the gauge fills up, victory is yours! Team Composition Supreme Commander The player controlled character acts as the main character. In addition to issuing attack and defense commands to the aides, you can also summon minions. Aides – Command-able During “Guard Mode”, the aides automatically take action to protect the Supreme Commander, while in “Attack Mode” they focus on attacking the enemy. The aides can automatically switch between these two modes, but the player can also command them directly. Minions – Summon-able During battle you can summon them and they appear for a fixed time to battle. You can set up a formation of up to 8 minions. “Shima” and Fear Gauge Breaking Shima will give you benefits during battle Throughout the stages are stones called “Shima” placed around and breaking them gives a fixed amount of damage to your team. (This is worded strangely, but I think it’s saying breaking these will allow you to heal.) Reclaim taken Shima! As the number of Shima increases, you will be able to summon powerful minions! Build up your Feat Gauge to unleash a powerful strike! By attacking the enemy and claiming Shima, your Fear Gauge increases. Build up your gauge to unleash your ultimate technique or your Hyakki Yakou Technique to finish the battle in an instant! With 50% of the gauge you can unleash your ultimate technique! With 100% of the gauge you can invoke your Hyakki Yakou Technique! A note about the “Shima”: Shima can mean “territory”, which in the context of this series would make sense if that’s how they mean it here. The stones here are referred to as “Shima” as if they are a proper noun, so I didn’t translate it. Essentially you destroy the Shima to control the territory around them. It’s probably best to think of them “Territory Stones.” Another note: If you’re familiar with the series you’ll know that “Hyakki Yakou” refers to the Commander’s “Night Parade of 100 Demons.”
SolxBaiken Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 Just a reminder for anyone looking forward to this.
SoWL Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 Goddamn, why are all the official videos so out of sync? I wanna see some gameplay, but I get distracted by the sound instead. Whatever, less than a week to go for the other vids.
xlolxlolx Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 ^they work fine for me :o dont think ill bother getting this, konami seems to be targeting middle schoolers for this
Cirno Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 this game is frigging awesome. ive only been playing for 30 minutes and ive got grab resets to death with tsurara
SoWL Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 Just found out that AmiAmi sells this game for only 4500 Yen. Which means that I may actually buy it, even though I didn't consider that at all after seeing the price tag on Play-Asia.
HARD_BREAD Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 this game is frigging awesome. ive only been playing for 30 minutes and ive got grab resets to death with tsurara Would you mind making a vid? Also, does this game support stick?
Hecatom Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 i want to buy this game, but im broke as hell :/ im definitevely getting it when i got the money
Cirno Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 Would you mind making a vid? Also, does this game support stick? card assists require right analog stick so i'm not so sure if a fightstick would work (you can still play without card assists, normal assists use x and circle buttons and you can even play without those if you wish). i was already considering making a video, but my "recording equipment" is less than spectacular, so i may not be able to just yet. i'll see, though.
Keo-bas Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 darn waited too late to order, looks like their sold out on play asia and i hate being on waiting list
HARD_BREAD Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 Someone uploaded a vid on guard breaks using a jump canceled ground string into IAD normal sting repeat. http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm16259120 I can't wait to get this game myself.
