LastStarSaviour Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 Wouldn't trust using it against Lambda that much. If it can go through her sword storm she summons from the ground (can't remember name) then getting in her face is going to be cake. That's if the way i'm imagining it in my head really works. It most likely won't be that simple.
Raptor Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 How about blablahblah>5C>RC>dash>6A combos. Are those still around?
Arcknight Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 How about blablahblah>5C>RC>dash>6A combos. Are those still around? With 5C having a level reduction you better hope so lol. Although I was never a fan of using RC's to make combos with Noel. After watching a few of the videos PK posted, my thoughts: -Drive looks like it is about CS1 speed again. Livable. -Spring Raid looks awesome again mid-screen! I hope there are still some solid combos utilizing that. Although I was worried 6C>j.D might not connect like it used to in CS1 -Optic Barrel does not seem THAT much worse. It still seems to connect for combos at least. Not sure how viable it is on its own though. Mixed feelings here. -j.B hitbox: It is really bad. They may as well remove an overhead property from it. -4D seems a little more vulnerable. I need to see more of it. -5D looks kind of crappy still. They left in the slide and the invulnerability is noticeably less. Stop fucking with this attack. Please. Pick something and stick with it.
Raptor Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 I thought CSX Spring Raid could only combo into j.b>air combo. I am losing track on how many wall bounces one corner combo has.
Arcknight Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 I thought CSX Spring Raid could only combo into j.b>air combo. I am losing track on how many wall bounces one corner combo has. Might be why I only saw people go into a craptastic air-combo with it. Even with Thor it did not do enough damage sadly. Oh darn. :/
LunaKage Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 I'm pretty sure that the opponent recovers before Noel does if he bursts through her j.D. I dunno, burst startup and recovery while in the air is pretty ass.
C0R Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 I'm pretty sure that the opponent recovers before Noel does if he bursts through her j.D. Many moves that have projectile protection via guardpoint or invulnerability make exceptions for bursts. Tager for example cannot sledge a burst.
Fluck Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 I dunno, burst startup and recovery while in the air is pretty ass. I think if you time it right you can, startup for j.D + active frames is roughly equivalent to start-up for burst. After that both of you fall down but Noel is above the opponent and will thus recover later. But well, that's just theory on my part. Many moves that have projectile protection via guardpoint or invulnerability make exceptions for bursts. Tager for example cannot sledge a burst. Yeah C0R, but since it was specifically mentioned on BBS I assume that it actually happened to the poor guy who posted.
HexaNoid Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 As we suspected, Rapid Cancelling our drives to do Muzzle Flitter/Optic Barrel combo extenders is possible: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=x9pW54N8ILc#t=120s Unfortunately, due to haidas giving us less heat gain and haida loops being taken out completely, heat to spend on RCs may not be as readily at hand as it used to be.
LiveWireX Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 Yeah, it looks like we're going to have to be a lot more hesitant on when and where we use our Heat when it involves combo. I've got no doubt we'll still be able to dish some sick shit out, but I feel there's going to be more of a focus on setting up for combos this time around than there has been previously.
LastStarSaviour Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 It's sad to see that assault through no longer breaks primer. But on the other hand it looks like it has become safer on block. It could've just been the opponent not punishing it though. There's a really good vid of Takeyama showing Noel off a little bit, definitely worth watching.
LunaKage Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 Assault Through looks faster too. I noticed that right away.
LiveWireX Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 Yeah, it being faster opens up more possibilities just into and of itself. And cool that Takeyama's showing off some Noel stuff to check out. If it's what I'm thinking of, wish he'd stop changing his name though, lol.

LastStarSaviour Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 (edited) No, R-1 is Takehashi, don't expect to see him surface until he has Extend Noel mastered. Takeyama is another Noel player. Edited October 9, 2011 by LastStarSaviour
Raptor Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 http://youtu.be/Esl3WsHhV1w?t=9m46s Looks like we have our BC>Muzzle Flitter combo back, along with other characters that could special cancel from throws (ie Ragna BC>Gauntlet Hades)
HexaNoid Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 Proration seems pretty awful from throws now; that combo dropped before the d.5C could connect and we only netted 2.5k from it.. I wonder if we'll be able to get decent damage in the corner from a throw.
Raptor Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 Well to be fair he did use moves that put out alot of hits before it dropped. Counted 4 hits from B silencer (horrible repeat proration as is) and d.6C. Maybe we still can get a full combo off it, but yes the damage is still meh.

That combo always did ass damage, because Throw > Throw has shitty proration, come on Hex you know this already :3 I'm not worried about it, I think it dropped mainly due to timing, in a match against Valk he did that off of an airthrow and it dropped the same way, it just puts them to high for d.5C to connect is all, he later rectified this by substituting d.5D for d.5B, and it worked midscreen.
VIDA Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 So I'm looking at this thread def like the matter of fact discussion but I can't help bit wonder what's presently the generally pereceived consensus on her viability in CSEX?
LunaKage Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 So I'm looking at this thread def like the matter of fact discussion but I can't help bit wonder what's presently the generally pereceived consensus on her viability in CSEX? Well first tier list put her as 5th from the bottom. That was the last I saw anyway.
AcoTan Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 Oh man, so it is true, d.5B allows d.5C off air juggle now. That's pretty cool.
VIDA Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 Well first tier list put her as 5th from the bottom. That was the last I saw anyway. Do u mean that troll post on the gameplay forum tho?
LunaKage Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 Do u mean that troll post on the gameplay forum tho? No no, it was from a different thing.
Arcknight Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 You mean d.5b no longer blows the opponent away mid-screen? If so that is awesome. That attack served absolutely no purpose outside corner push and maaaaybe hitting a teching opponent with a follow-up OBĀ©. I am probably the only one that ever tried that though ha. It will be interesting to see if CSX makes wider tier gaps than the "older" version of the game.
