ShelledMenace Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 It only takes one ghetto frametrap to condition someone to respect your 6Cs. :P ghetto frametrap....I like that phrase lol
eQualz Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 (edited) So I was in the lab trying to figure out how to utilize 236D oki. Haven't tested that in a match but it looks promising. You dash under after a corner 214A and throw in a slightly delayed 236D. It'll catch them rolling away if they try to. If they neutral tech and block you're free to do whatever you want. There's one thing that concerns me which I was not able to try out. I don't know if you have enough time to 2B them if they simply stay grounded till 236D flies over them. So if you're willing to spend 25 heat this might be worth to look into. edit: It's bullshit Edited March 8, 2012 by eQualz
Moy_X7 Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 I can't see this working on my head, I'll have to try it out but why exactly do you need to dash under them after the 214A?
xlolxlolx Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 (edited) youre free if they delay neutral tech or quick wakeup its pretty bad even if they block it......if they dead angle you then you just wasted 25 meter for no reason and gave them corner =/ Edited March 8, 2012 by xlolxlolx
eQualz Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 (edited) @Moy - 236D flies off the screen too fast if you stay where you are. I guess you could gain the same results if you simply walk back a little. Back dash leaves too much of a gap for jumping out. Plus it's more likely that they try to roll away (might only work once but hell, you can force them to neutral tech if you go for 214A dash under shenanigans) @xlol - Yah, that's what keeps me worried but I totally forgot about the replay function to test it, lol. edit: It's bullshit Edited March 8, 2012 by eQualz
shtkn Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 an interesting thing i've noticed is that on emergency tech (probably for neutral tech too), you start in a standing position, even if you're holding down the entire time... and it seems like going to crouching animation has startup. this might be useful for fuzzy guard stuff, and it's the only reason the icecar wallbounce > crossup options in that video work. crouching in bb is interesting, if you rapidly tap down, you character doesn't match up with your directional inputs... it's like there's startup for crouching/standing up. you cancel the crouch animation into crouching attacks, which is why some combos/blockstrings actually work. now i wonder if those crossup options can be beat by doing neutral tech > mash crouching attack...
Moy_X7 Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 That's what I noticed. Sometimes if let's say, I as Jin do IAD j.2C > j.C, and I slightly delay the j.C, then the opponent will get hit by the j.C and it will register as "an unblocked high hit/red exclamation mark" even when they're standing up. The same deal goes for when you hit a crouching opponent with a low. They're crouching and I'm guessing that they're about to stand up, and it registers as "getting hit by a low/yellow exclamation mark", even though they're crouching.
TCSyd Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 I'm pretty sure that you're invincible during what little frames you might be stuck standing after emergency/neutral tech. I can't seem to land a meaty 5A no matter how hard I try, let alone a j2C. The training dummy doesn't respond like a person for w/e reason, and won't shift to crouching state right away. Even so, the j2C cross-up after wallbound works just fine on crouchers, but you have to do j2C a bit deeper.
shtkn Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 yes, i thought it was a training dummy bug too, so i recorded a jin doing that crossup thing, then tried to neutral tech crouch block myself... and i always got hit standing. i really do think it's a system thing, tho i encourage you to go try it to make sure it's not just me missing something. when i get home i'm going to try doing a 2A on wakeup and see where that gets me.
TCSyd Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 (edited) Ah; my bad. I assumed neutral tech was the same, but it seems you aren't invincible during the forced standing state after neutral tech. It seems pretty hard to land a j2C in time, however. Edit: Actually, I'm not too sure now. I've been trying to meaty 5A on neutral and emergency tech, and it seems impossible if I crouch block (3). If, however, I just crouch (2), then I get hit. Edited March 9, 2012 by TCSyd
xlolxlolx Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 oh yah, something i liked to do in cs1 was jump cancellable normal>whiff air throw>iad backwards crossup/fake crossups, its worth the attempt if you train them well enough with mix of overhead, low, pressure reset, frame traps, etc
Moy_X7 Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 I haven't been this hype watching Jin matches in a while. www.youtube.com/watch?v=VuTcX1GBAqY#t=7m20s

Jourdal Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 I knew his name looked familiar....but BBCS2 site has been down all week...he doesnt seem as reckless as the last time we saw him though. As I always say....west japan seems to have all the jins.
kirk Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 Yeah i tried to confirm on the site cause the nameeee looked so familiar, was guessing it was #3 jin. Then I remembered having the acho 3v3, looked it up there.
ShelledMenace Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Wow that Ragna really got blown up hard lol
vanfleihight Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 Punishing Noel's air super with ice arrow is the most satisfying feeling you can feel.
Moy_X7 Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 Punishing Noel's air super with ice arrow is the most satisfying feeling you can feel. That and punishing Pumpkin summon + Lobelias, Arakune's cloud summon + ground (low) bugs, and Hazama's attempt at trying to get in with chains are almost as sweet.
Yuushiro Posted March 11, 2012 Author Posted March 11, 2012 today I got 6C CH and double dash cancelled on reaction and I realized, hey I have 100% meter... double ice arrow-ed for almost 5k....
