Jourdal Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 People are calling CP jin the best character, I don't think he needs more shit. I saw Ronitta i think get 3K standing off 2D by tacking on a D musou (1). We already know what sekka follow up does for his midscreen damage. It's all about those dirty hizangeki resets anyway~
Moy_X7 Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 For switching sides in CSE, I'd just go for the stuff > 5C > 2C > 2D > dash under route. However, that doesn't work with a 2A/5A starter so you'd need to use the standard Sekkajin combo and then end the combo with the 3C > Ice Car cross-under.
Yuushiro Posted January 4, 2013 Author Posted January 4, 2013 Aren't there going to be some patches coming up to patch those infinites and other stuff? I am afraid if Jin is deemed to be too broken he might get nerfed in the patch. oh well, I'll make him work as always but it would be shucks not experiencing first hand Jin's first iteration of BBCP.

I am afraid if Jin is deemed to be too broken he might get nerfed in the patch. oh well, I'll make him work as always but it would be shucks not experiencing first hand Jin's first iteration of BBCP. BB has yet to receive an emergency balance patch. It's always been bug fixes and the like. They didn't even nerf CS1 Valk, and that character was the world.
shtkn Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 bb indeed hasn't, but the two most recent fighting games from asw (p4arena and ggac+r) have. looks like a trend to me...
Moy_X7 Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 P4A got a balance patch? I thought the patch just fixed some bugs like Yukiko's infinite UBs. Then again, I haven't been keeping up with P4A as much. Even if it were the case, I highly doubt that Jin would get nerfed so soon. He looks good but not broken good. If anything, he'll probably get nerfed in the next iteration, BB:CPII or something lol.
Errol Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 the patch was before console release. by a bit iirc. big balance patch.
Moy_X7 Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 (edited) Ah, I didn't know that, thanks for clearing that up. So which characters got balanced with the arcade patch? Edit: Nevermind, I just Google'd it. If that's the case and if the same happened with GG, then a balance patch isn't too farfetched after all. Edited January 4, 2013 by Moy_X7
xlolxlolx Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 all i know is they made chie a little less stupid tho shes still stupid :V and yeah....jin's nowhere near cs1 valk tier lol
Errol Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 JGT 2012 "It's too early for tier lists" JGT 2013 "Balance patch? FUUUUUUU"
Jyosua Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 You know how stupid good Mitsuru is in P4A? Well imagine an air-to-air counterhit j.A into full combos with bufula oki. Yay balance patches. That said, I /really/ don't want to see Jin get nerfed prior to reaching the states. I would be very salty about that.
Errol Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 Balance patches are good. I'm glad to see them doing it, I would be terribly disappointed if they don't do it for CP. But it feels like it would be a shame to miss a version of the game completely. P4A was like that but we had never played it before it came out... The changes they've made in these balance patches have been tweaks really tho. I doubt anyone would get nerfed or buffed terribly much. The Jin Train may continue.
Tecta1Eastside Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 What's wrong with CP atm in your opinion?
Errol Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 Me? Nothing really. I just have always felt that they could stand to make some small tweaks some months after release when general opinion is established.
Tecta1Eastside Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 makes sense but what makes jin so good in this version? i heard ppl say he's alot better but i dont see it really.
psycofang2 Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 makes sense but what makes jin so good in this version? i heard ppl say he's alot better but i dont see it really. his tools and combos are more stable, better overall damage, OD combos are some serious legit stuff, dirty DIRTY resets.
Surf Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 Its funny though, a good number of people thought he'd suck but would be fun to play in CP, since they took a fair number of his tools away and changed others. Wasnt expecting this godlike iteration of him though.
Tecta1Eastside Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 hmm makes sense but i still feel like he's a little overhyped. I'll have to experience CP myself. Thanks for answers my questions.

Wasnt expecting this godlike iteration of him though. Not as funny as the Hakumen board doom and gloom. Or the Hazama 'but we don't get 80 heat per combo anymore, C tier!". Difference in emotion between starting as low tier and high tier.
Surf Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 Dont even get me started on Hazama I was actually going to sub Jin in EX but a couple things about him just really bothered the hell out of me. Like Sekkajin mash and j.D > airdash j.2C > j.C conbos, they just felt incredibly awkward. But Sekkajin mash is gone and the later really doesnt appaear too much. i may sub him i may not, but i wont deny he looks really fun.
psycofang2 Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 but we arent gloomy. i on think anyones actually been gloomy. :I t worst the only time i get gloomy is if chibaken plays hakumen. oh my god, the shit he does, why. other than that no we really dont care about blockable drive. haku is quadro adam blade SSSSS+++++ teir ad i will parade this until everyone knows.

Sekkajin wasn't terrible, but it really showed with 6C and 214A wallbounce. 6C didn't always combo into 2D as the hitboxes were fickle... and followups to 214A wallbounce required on-the-fly adjustments. Swag as hell, but very unstable. I'm really looking forward to Chrono Phantasma because of this reason the most. Though Hizangeki looks lulzy too.
xlolxlolx Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 gotta love 6c>2d whiffing on carl and plat all day hurrdurr
ShelledMenace Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 gotta love 6c>2d whiffing on carl and plat all day hurrdurr that was like the worst thing ever. nothing to ruin a day to realize 6C 2D won't work on the thing you're hitting lol.
Moy_X7 Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 Soon my men, soon, we will have stable combos that do trucks of damage and require little execution. Every confirm is a good confirm for CP Jin lol.
