Xie Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 (edited) Hello everyone, I'm proud to announce that project Beginner Mode is well underway and airs on my channel at www.twitch.tv/xiei. Please tune in next time to show your support and participate in the stream! General Info Beginner Mode is a program where we discuss the most basic of basic BlazBlue concepts and fundamentals, and take you from your competitive fighting infancy to glorious new heights! Or attempt to. That being said, Beginner Mode is a program dedicated to a slow, ground up approach to take even the most juvenile fighting game players to a more competitive level. The idea here is not to replace your current understanding of Fighting Games or BlazBlue, but to build a platform for which you may discover and expand your knowledge and skill. To that end, Beginner Mode is for players of all skill levels, as everyone has concepts to learn and perspective to gain. Show Format The show will follow a completely irregular schedule. It is likely to be "More Than Weekly", but will always be announced beforehand. This show will be conducted live, and likely with a (hopefully) minimal amount of professionalism. It will also be conducted in 720p, so if you have poverty internet, you might have a problem. Ideally, my channel reaches partner status someday, so we can get those delicious 360p and 240p options to work, but until then, we will have to make do. Staring at still images or random match videos is somewhat boring, so this show will be conducted webcam style, with the primary amount of footage taken from my face. Hopefully you won't find my grotesque handsome visage too offensive, as this would present a problem. From there, I will splice in images, diagrams, and gameplay footage as necessary, depending on the subject. As we reach more and more sophisticated concepts, the show's format will also change around, covering things beyond conceptual stage and dealing with match analysis and so forth. I've got the hookups to high level Japanese and American players, so certain show segments may be dedicated to inviting them onto the show and talking about their mindset, what they were thinking, etc. About Me If you don't know who I am, I am Xie, I have played BlazBlue and some people might even consider me pretty good! I fancy myself in critical analysis of situations and characters, and do my best to educate and entertain AT ALL POSSIBLE TIMES. Feedback Feedback is of course welcome. If you have any comments, ideas, critiques, questions, disagreement, please ask here in this thread AND THIS THREAD ALONE. If you PM me I will embarrass you by answering your question in this thread, so don't try it! That is all, please look forward to the program! Edited March 15, 2012 by Xie

Alpha152 Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 Great idea Xie, I'm looking forward to this. Maybe a Cross Counter-esque series for BB will expand the player base.
CakeWasBannedd Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 i'm up for this, i still don't know lots of stuff about fighting games that i would like to know, and i'm all for showing support to a project like this. count me in!
Tari Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 I'll try to show up to watch your awe-inspiring face whenever you're airing. Seriously, though, glad to see this is getting off the ground. Partner status for that quality option would be really nice (240p is actually viewable via android phones, and I think jtv has an app for iphone viewing), but I fortunately do not have poverty net, so 720p+ is fine by me.
KayEff Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 huey253 for beginner mode guest as ragna expert
Nakkiel Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 Sounds good! I'm sure any of PNW will be more than happy to help out should you need or desire it.
kenja0 Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 Episode 1: Why Tager is actually a bad character? jking, but yeah, he's bad. Anyway, sounds promising. Hopefully we all can learn something new.
Shruikon Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 Sounds good. I'll attempt to watch it live but I'll likely end up having to catch the archives.
Demon Wind Bomb Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 This should be informative. I was trying to get some friends into BB, maybe showing them this video would simplify things for them (and help improve my game as well).
TD Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 nice idea, l hope it works out for you guys. and i'll be tuning in as well.
Star-Demon Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 I like and approve. Please give us advance notice, though.
LuminAbyss Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 I take it that the third post for Youtube links means episodes will be recorded and uploaded after showing? I'd really like that, I have a younger sibling who would like to get into BlazBlue, and I don't know how well the schedule may or may not work out for them.
Skye Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 I'd love to chip in for anything pertaining to Arakune. Also, on the subject on quality uploads, you can always record your stream and tone down the bitrate or screen size for easier viewing, the poverty internet people will simply have to wait for it to go on Youtube, which would be beneficial to your campaign if it went up very soon after the stream was over.
Star-Demon Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 I'd volunteer to be the John Madden or the Bobby Heenan Style commentator. (or in some cases, the Michael Cole...)
brett_ Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 supporting this and will be advertising it on my channel!
Kuuhaku Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 We'll also advertise it on the PNW youtube channel if you'd like.
Xie Posted October 14, 2011 Author Posted October 14, 2011 Please, EVERYWHERE is acceptable. I greatly appreciate the shoutouts and support.
Moy_X7 Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 Will provide a link for it in my channel, looking forward to these series and are you going to archive these series by any chance?
Xie Posted October 17, 2011 Author Posted October 17, 2011 Thanks for watching tonight everyone! Next Episode is gonna be Tuesday (10/18/11) 7pm PST. Don't miss it!
Ch3äZy Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 Awesome job on the show and thank you! It's nice to see you going over the basics for complete beginners but I must say I can't WAIT until you get into higher level play and going on about strategies. Like how you said something about doing a show about gadget finger and other various moves, that sounds great and I am really excited to see more!
tataki Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 (edited) Am I allowed to youtube it? My channel is full of tutorials for many different games. Edit: I can upload more than 15 minute vids, since you mentioned the limitation on the stream. Edit 2: Also consider also making an audio version of the stream for download.
