Chaoschao222 Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 The Bloodegde Alliance Skype only wants you to have swag So I assume Lumin isn't in it?
Yggjrasil Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 Somehow, he made his way in. Only because he owns a red jacket.
killionaire Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 No initiation rites or any of that. This place was the very first to actually implement skype chat rooms, after all.
[SpA]Relentless Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 Actually you have to buy one of these and wear them everytime you join the chat.
gli Posted January 16, 2012 Author Posted January 16, 2012 Played Extend at an arcade. I honestly couldn't tell I was playing Extend lol (in regards to Rachel changes). Relius though I had no idea what I was doing.
Yggjrasil Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 You play Relius like a JJBA character....Unless you never played that game, then you just do shit. lol.
gli Posted January 16, 2012 Author Posted January 16, 2012 Sort of last minute I got to go play so I didn't study up on anything beforehand. Methodically pressed buttons and tried joystick motions to see stuff. I watched videos when I got back and facepalmed when I saw a real combo. Whatever I was doing was stupid -_- Spammed j.2C > special cancel as my "victory" thing whenever I had a chance
Sadeyo Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 Relentless;1238947']Actually you have to buy one of these and wear them everytime you join the chat. How did my boxers make it online! Where can I buy these >_>;

Sadeyo Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Those boxers take more priority before BB. Touhou fandom. I love <3 Erin.
gli Posted January 17, 2012 Author Posted January 17, 2012 I thought Rachel mains were good eggs. Turns out they are all bad apples!!
Chazmobile Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 I thought Rachel mains were good eggs. Turns out they are all bad apples!! We're all beautiful and you know it.
gli Posted January 17, 2012 Author Posted January 17, 2012 (edited) On a more serious note, I think a lot of people could benefit from reading about this study (especially salty netplayers): http://www.ascd.org/publications/educational-leadership/oct07/vol65/num02/The-Perils-and-Promises-of-Praise.aspx A long but worth it read about the different ways people approach the same problem of learning. There are two groups: - one that believes intelligence (or skill) is innate ("bad") - the other group believes it is something that grows ("good") protip: having the latter school of thought is better. Almost done with college and this is pretty much what happens at the upper-level. Edited January 17, 2012 by glirandly
Sadeyo Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 I thought Rachel mains were good eggs. Turns out they are all bad apples!! Were you living under a rock? I'm corrupted to the marrow of my bones, you'll need a Rachel like me. Time to get the dust off my uniform.
killionaire Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 I'm sorry, did someone suggest that for even a moment that we are PURE beings on this earth?
kirbster Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Well, to be exact, one's "skill" or "talent" is always the result of the interaction between genes and the environment.
kro_ Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Of course praising effort is better than praising intelligence. The former is something they can improve upon and the latter is just a compliment. Manipulation 101. Case 1: "You are really smart, imouto." "tehehe~" Case 2: "You must have worked hard, imouto." (cue waterworks) "onii-chan wahhhhhhhhh! You know what? I worked really hard. I worked really hard to be the best imouto I can be!" As for whether or not intelligence is fixed, I think it is fixed. But in 95% of situations more effort would have made the difference between success and failure. The discrepancies in intelligence among people you meet in college aren't really large enough to matter except in very rare cases.
Tari Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 I'm going to agree with kro on this. I'm also going to agree with his exact examples, because they're the best possible examples a person could ask for.
gli Posted January 18, 2012 Author Posted January 18, 2012 (edited) Imouto award. Yeah pretty much that. Pre-existing ability exists but it's not until you have exhausted all possible effort through deliberate practice that you'll see the (small margin) of difference the innate skill makes. Were you living under a rock? My rock living quarters are located high above Japan. I guess you could say I ROCK OVER JAPAN. Edited January 18, 2012 by glirandly

killionaire Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Effort builds my character. Although my eyes may need patching at the rate I might push myself.
Herbal Grey Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 lufenia wants me to post.... herro...... gli i was lurking on some post you made that you forgot you were playing csextend.....yea, i entered a tourney and got 2nd without ever having played the game before...playing against relius players was very scary, so i whacked them with the pumpkin and dominated them in the corner so they couldn't scare me with attacks and combos i've never seen before. i remembered it was extend every time i tried to jump after fork -_- sooo sad....tager is suddenly scary...no safe pokes........
