mAc Chaos Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 I was done once I saw SC4 and how they split Nightmare into two characters. F that noise.
BeaverDeity Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 I was done once I saw SC4 and how they split Nightmare into two characters. F that noise. Didn't they split in SC3?
mAc Chaos Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 Well, either way, SC2 was the last one I really liked.
someonewhodied Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 (edited) He's saying that XBL players suck. You should probably take this opportunity to insult his mother or something. Have you joined average rooms on XBL? unless you join rooms with specific players, XBL isn't all that great in general, with only a handful of active notable players you can get your ass completely kicked across the ocean by. edit: ok fine, maybe i just can't find anyone amazing due to so many rooms with connection quality restrictions. mAc Chaos Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 Well, it's true that like, half the XBL players play on PSN for various reasons nowadays (mostly because of offline tournaments), but I still consider them XBL players. :P Omni, Axis, etc. Their HOME TOWN

Legacy Edge Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 Lately i have huge problems with negative warnings. I get them, a lot.
toanenadiz Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 It isn't like it sucks away your heat or anything. Negative warning only matters in BB if you get hit. Don't get hit and you don't really need to worry.
Overheat Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 Like Toan said: don't get hit, and you'll be fine. That being said, I think that means you have to get your opponent to block more swords, or maybe you're backing away too much. Just play carefully as always, if you do get it. With luck, your opponent will get careless and greedy, and get hit by one of your swords.
Legacy Edge Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 Well my zoning is awfull so i get hit :P But its true thought that i back off a lot, and on bad moments, trying to work on it by swifting to more agressive styles, which lead me to another realisation/question. I seem to be using 236B a lot. Should i be reducing it in favor of keeping my oppenents locked down with 236D (even if i know they will block it)? For example 8:34 here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kc5djna6_4g&t=2m12s , yoshiki after starting the combo with 5A ends it with 236D even thought Noel blocks it and keeps up the presure. I would have dont a 236B, and then get the hell away from her. Is the first way always the superior? Is it a good first step in trying to improve?
Overheat Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 X > 3C > 236B or X > 3C > 236D 236D forces them to block a mix-up, 236B essentially sets the match back to neutral. After a 236D mix-up, you can hitconfirm into a combo or 3C > 236D oki, or you can jump cancel back and set the match back to neutral. 236D is pretty much always the better option, although 236B is still a decent option.
BeaverDeity Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 You're getting negative penalty with Lambda? Why aren't you forcing your opponents to flee and have them get negative warning instead? Jk. But yeah, it's really only a problem if you get hit. If you get negative penalty, don't panic because that'll probably cause them to get a lucky hit on you. Just casually readjust the momentum of the match until it goes away. As for 236D vs 236B, Overheat pretty much summed it up. Hitconfirms into 236B tack on a bit of damage at the end and set the match back into neutral, where 236D forces them to eat a mixup which could potentially reset into another combo or carry them to a corner confirm. It's really up to preference on what you want to do, but 236D is typically a better option. I usually 236D most of the time, but on certain characters 236B might be a more preferable option (like on Hakumen or Tager since they can disrespect 236D with a wake-up counter zanshin or a wake up sledge or something. You can still do 236D on them, but it might put you in an undesirable position if you're not careful).
someonewhodied Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 or if you have heat X>3C>RC>66A>214A>4B(2)>2DD>2147D>5DD>236C>236D>(End here and go for oki if you are far from the corner. If at or near corner, continue)>2B>2C>2147D>Lock opponent tech with 5C spam. Not sure if you can do a 3C after the last TK and then a wheel or spike oki instead. if someone can test it, that would be great. (I know there is more optimal stuff, but this is flashier)
Overheat Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 Unfortunately, the 2C > TK won't connect. I'm pretty sure the 2B > 2C wouldn't connect either.
someonewhodied Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 so much for that then <.< Can you do 66A>2147D there instead?
Overheat Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 Assuming it was (for a common starter) 2B > 3C > etc. > 236D > 6A > TK, then yes, if you can get 6A to OTG the opponent, but just barely. (which isn't normally done, so I'm not sure if it works or if it's character-specific, etc.)
hakimiru Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 If 6A doesn't hit low enough, you could always try 5B > 6A~ although I'm not sure if the proration would still support it by then.
Overheat Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 That's a real make-or-break case. If the proration truncates or rounds down, then it doesn't work. If this is something you would do in a match, I wouldn't expect it to work.
AchedSphinx Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 Hello fellow Lambda'ers, I had an interesting moment today. I was playing this Tao player and he said Lambda was broken. I was literally taken aback. I mean, do all Tao players think Lambda is broken? Seriously some crazy times on the American East servers. He said this while I was blocking for twenty seconds. Not literally, but it was a really long time D:
Legacy Edge Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 Don't think so, you just met an exception to the rest For example i myself hate most of all the...wait for it....Tager match up.

AchedSphinx Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Because being forced to block Taokaka's mixup all the time makes Lambda broken of course Beave, I will show you the video in which it happened when I get time to upload some games. You'll probably think I'm broken too. My life would be so much easier if I instant blocked. As of late, I seem to be doing much better than I used to be. I play so incredibly slow it's crazy. Playing Lambda like a zoner only is rather fun at times, but you do need to go in close sadly. I need to do sickle storm more. Everytime I do it midscreen I have no idea what to follow it up with other than 4B[2], but if they know I do that a lot they'll block high. The way I've seen it done was Lambda jumps high, does jc and 214DC to fall and do 2B > 3C into gravity. That's literally the most technical exchange of abilities I've ever seen haha. But yeah, I'm getting there. You still in California Beave? I'll be off of dorm net this weekend so I will have a good connection finally. What I should do is rent a room in the library and bring my T.V and xbox and play there. Library internet is insanely good lol.

Haha, if someone blocked my mixup for that long I'd probably get mad too, but it's still funny how a Tao player is calling Lambda broken when it's one of Lambda's... not so good matchups. :3 Yep, I'm in Cali. Getting some games in with you sounds like a fun idea, we should play sometime. If you see me on just shoot me a message but this weekend is NCI so I'm not sure if I'll be online on Saturday. As for the sickle pressure stuff, you can also do stuff like Jump->j.B->j.214D©->Airdash j.B->j.C overhead pressure to mix it up with stuff like that. The one day it dawned on me how good Lambda's mixup can be off of that move was really fun lol, I spent all day just making setups xD but yeah, definitely should play sometime.
