Mr OSD Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 I think that's a pretty fair statement to make now honestly. As much as I love Chrono Trigger, I don't think it's aged too well like most classics really. One of those "you had to play it back then" kind of things. Nope. Played it for the first time this month. Instantly became my favorite game of all time. The only reason I'm not playing a 2nd playthrough atm is because Metal Gear Rising is consuming all my time.

HOW THE BLOODY HELL DID YOU MISS THIS MARVELOUS WONDER FOR A DECADE AND A HALF?
Kriegdrache Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 Bladewolf is best companion. metal gear rising is pretty much Shadow Dancer for the megadrivensis. -Play as a cool ninja -Has a rad as fuck dog as a sidekick -Saves hostages on a regular basis -Pretty sweet boss fights
Milln Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 I apologize that I offended some of you, but I can't take it back. <3 I like Chrono Cross a lot. Super Mario RPG is legit, i've beaten that with every possible party combination, it's so fun and the themes are always catchy. I even have the soundtrack! Hey what about that Ogre Battle? Don't you wanna Fight It Out! ?
Mr OSD Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 You're playing CT just now? HOW THE BLOODY HELL DID YOU MISS THIS MARVELOUS WONDER FOR A DECADE AND A HALF? Never had it as a kid and my xbox games didn't bore me yet. I wanted to save it untill I was really bored and I finally got a gamepad for my pc. And since (western)games nowadays are all the same I got bored + my Metal Gear Rising hype was too much. I decided it was finally time.
EXonestar Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 Chrono Cross > Zelda games. Y'all niggas can behead me too. ATARI > All games.

Don't you wanna Fight It Out! ? High five for the rest of your opinion. It's a ridiculous shame Mallow or Geno never appeared again. SMRPG > CT > just about everything else I've played. (Nostalgia talking again lol) I've only played a GBA version of the Ogre series. That game just liked to take hilarious opportunities to maul my units.

The codecs with him are hilarious, especially the Gubayama one in chapter 5. I'm so hype for the 3rd DLC where you get to play as him.

Most of the western protagonists today are scruffy brunette white men who shave the same exact way.

Old casshern came into mind
mAc Chaos Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 As long as we're all giving up our rights to post: I actually can't stand Chrono Trigger. I'll play a little bit of it, then get bored and distracted and go play a better game. =O I recognize it's good and that it contributed a lot to the era, but I just plain don't like playing it. I can't get past this post. My jimmies have been rustled. How can you... what... I...
Starlight777 Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 Besides that. Old casshern came into mind THE RUIN I know you mean the old Casshern that's worth watching but still THE RUIN @MaC he likes SMRPG, thus he is forgiven for his transgressions.
Chaoschao222 Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 I can't get past this post. My jimmies have been rustled. How can you... what... I... I think CT's pretty trash, too, never been a fan of Square games in general, though, especially older ones.
mAc Chaos Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 I am the opposite. The only Square games I have ever liked were Chrono Trigger and Super Mario RPG. The fact that neither has random encounters is the best part.
Starlight777 Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 (edited) I think CT's pretty trash, too, never been a fan of Square games in general, though, especially older ones. Do you at least like SNES games Chao? I am the opposite. The only Square games I have ever liked were Chrono Trigger and Super Mario RPG. The fact that neither has random encounters is the best part. Chaoschao222 Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 Do you at least like SNES games Chao? Depends on the game, obviously. Won't just say I like games in general on any particular platform. But I will say I've enjoyed playing games on every Nintendo platform, from Gameboy to SNES to Virtual Boy to Game&Watch to Wii.
Milln Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 Hahaha It's good to know that Chrono Trigger is still highly respected. Let's see... what else is fun on my bookshelf... We already talked about Breath of Fire... As long as we're talking snes, what about Zoop? That scoring game that everybody, yet nobody played?

The one time I played that thing it hurt my eyes.

Was the that the puzzle game where your a shape in the middle and you have to swap shapes around to match them?
Milln Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 Was the that the puzzle game where your a shape in the middle and you have to swap shapes around to match them? That's the one! Got pretty difficult after a couple stages.
-Seo Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 Anyone for some games. I've literally got nothing to do tonight
Chaoschao222 Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 You played a Virtual Boy? The one time I played that thing it hurt my eyes. Played a few on separate occasions, wasn't too bad on the eyes, but there was only one occasion where I played it for more than 2 hours in a sitting. Played lots of VB Wario Land.
Shruikon Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 when are we nuking this thread into oblivion i don't think i can look at it anymore
Kujikawa Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 Plz not the JRPG discussion again, we just had it. Despite owning a PS1, PS2, PSP and PS3... I've never played MGS. Apart from Acid. That game was sick.
