I was a Noel main at first in CT, believe it or not. I had the worst win ratio ever. o_o

Then I was a Hakumen main.

Then he became the submain I never used and then Nu was my new main.

Cor, I feel like absolutely nothing has changed for my Mu (par the obvious things)

Is there anything remarkably different I should be doing with her now? Combos or otherwise, I just feel like I need to improve somewhere here.

And I never really played CT, besides screwing around with it as babby's first fighter.

Nope.

I mean if anyone actually implemented all that 6a otg stuff I found at the end of cs2, her combos are identical.

Oh. Well in that case, that's both relieving and slightly disappointing.

I guess I'll continue to try and get those corner loops down, I'm having trouble getting my old habits out of my head.

Lol I played noel in CT and CS1 arcade. Once cs1 console hit that's when I mained mu even though I mostly played noel/jin until the end of cs1. CS2 I played mostly Mu but still played a lot of other characters. In extend I only play Mu and ragna every once in a while. I'm a fraud with every other character. :> I just know enough of their gameplay to play them at a basic level but I don't really know combos. ;o

All I can say is play more and force yourself to develop good habits and remove the bad ones. It's hard I know but it's just something you have to do. Like developing the having of doing 2c 5c and 6a 2b when you Anti-Air. RCing 6c or 3c into a better combo. Stuff like that is important the more you force yourself to do it the better you'll get. But also, I recommend working on one thing at a time so you don't feel overwhelmed. You can't just learn everything in just a day or what not. It takes a while. Good luck with that.

As a side note, I thought 6a OTG only worked on tager and rachel.

Worked on the entire cast practically...and was really hard to do on others. It was near impossible on Makoto and Noel and those with particularly small hit boxes. 2C OTG erases the need for it. I did indeed get used to that before extend was announced so OTG 2C makes it feel so lovely and so much easier...not to mention works on everyooonnne~

Personally I loooooved guard crushing people with a burst. It gave bursting some very unique flavor that it now lacks. And I MUCH and more preferred insta-curse to can't-get-it-the-fuck-off-me-damnit-I'm-dead-curse with his stupid ass cousin curse-on-block-because-it's-just-that-fucking-awful. I just hate the crappy ass bursts in these later games. I only use them for gold burst reversals since green are garbage. Okay I'll stop with my hate of the current system mechanics.

CT I mained Noel and Subbed a Rushdown Nu.

CS1 mained Noel, Subbed Lambda, Trolled with Ragna.

CS2 Mained Noel, Subbed Makoto, Trolled with Ragna.

CSX mained Noel, Subbed Makoto, Trolled with Ragna.

I think I got a good thing going.

I still have some bad habits as well but I'm working hard to improve.

Btw, is anyone gonna start posting threads on Extend matchup strategies?

Hmm, InBirth footage is pretty sweet.

Feeling a lot better today, might stream for a bit, you guys should put out some questions in this thread.

Are there any 5k Mu combos consisting entirely of moves that show off her ass for 5 frames or more per move?

No ranbat/pnw house gathering? Thought everybody would be playing each other or pnw hangout. Oh well...anyways I think I have found some weaknesses in AAing with mu. Gotta fix that.

What's your gameplan against hakumen? Like mine is to zone until I get a hit then get aggressive. Like it has worked to some degree but I don't like it because I corner myself too fast. But if I am close up, there is the threat of 3c which is amazingly fast. I have also thought about this a little but against him, if you are in the corner, would you even try fighting your way out or just jump and airdash out? Though I think its a lot more spacing dependent. But yea for me I am zoning until I can get him to jump then I go for the AA because hakumen can't do much but counter or hotaru.

I'm thinking of picking up Mu.

I take it that it's going to take a lot of practice, but does anyone got some solid pointers to start with?

I've already been tinkering in lab, and doing her Challenge mode.

hm, well as far as pointers go, I'd say the most common combo starters are j.c ch, 6a ch midscreen, and 2b, 6b corner. Start by learning how to hitconfirm and combo them. Throws as well obv.

don't use 6c at neutral, use 236a/j.236a a lot. and I'd say a good rule of thumb is one stein at a time. also, a blocked 236a allows you to usually get a safe 236d out.

you can play really safe with mu, so try to avoid going in without cover from lasers. j.c whiffs on crouch so it's a terrible jump in move, but it's a godlike air to air, instead use j.b if ever you air-to-ground them. last thing, AIRTHROW.

So many new Mu players! God damn this genuinely makes me happy. I love these boards, More people the better.

Best Pointers:

1) Learn the Matchups. Knowing them all will make your Mu experience a lot sweeter.

2) Pochps above posts

3) Knockdown as much as possible. Oki is your best friend.

4) Get creative. Mu is still fairly "Unknown" Compared to the rest of the cast (Bar Relius) People still haven't discovered everything.

5) Spam the shit out of raw 6C and pray for a fatal
