Zeron_X25 Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 (edited) Dodge-demon. Skye let's play like 5-10 matches. I don't wanna get too into BB right now cause I got stuff to do. Edit: Am I supposed to get guard crushed while holding barrier? lmao. BK > DbD made my day. Edited May 5, 2012 by Zeron_X25

Edit: Am I supposed to get guard crushed while holding barrier? lmao. BK > DbD made my day. If you run out of barrier, then yes. Every time you barrier to prevent guard crush, it takes a ton of barrier meter away (1/3, iirc), and when you /do/ get guard crushed with no barrier, you're in dangerand guard crushed. Aka, GG

Skye Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 ggs Zeron and Star. Talk about literally putting the controller down when you're cursed.
Star-Demon Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 (edited) ggs Zeron and Star. Talk about literally putting the controller down when you're cursed. It's 8000 damage, not counting the F of G reset. If I get cursed I just put it down and try to escape the game. No point in thinking I have a chance. Already having chest pains over this game. I like how everyone plays against me in a way that the harder I try, the more laughable I look. Good times. NOT. Edited May 5, 2012 by Star-Demon

cookiehours Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 Can someone help me with my defense? Mixup, I can practice in training mode but I need work on defense. I'm always prone to hit a button when I shouldn't. And please answer without being a jerk or snarky. I'm not in the mood for that right now. I'll be on later on.
Zeron_X25 Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 So you mean you just sit there and let people do mixups on you while you try to block? Kinda like training mode with a second controller?
cookiehours Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 So you mean you just sit there and let people do mixups on you while you try to block? Kinda like training mode with a second controller? ...Yes. I don't like getting randomed and I just feel its my fault for letting it happen.
Moy_X7 Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 I'm always prone to hit a button when I shouldn't. Check out the frame data and learn when you can push buttons and punish shit. An IB can make all the difference when punishing shoddy pressure, turn stuff that's 3+ or less into neutral or negative where you can push buttons, or punishing moves that are otherwise not punishable on normal block (Lambda's 4B(2) and 236C) to name a few.

I guess that would help. And I want to make something clear with anyone. I don't get mad over losing. I get mad because I get frustrated with myself for screwing up. I can take losses but I just hate when I screw up over something I shouldn't have screwed up. I wouldn't ask for help if I didn't care about how I play.

I wouldn't ask for help if I didn't care about how I play. No, it will definitely help. Knowing your frame data makes a huge difference in matches. Stop having such a negative attitude. We all mess up from time to time. Just watch the Danisen League stream where my matches are featured. I was dropping a shitload of combos in the beginning. It happens to EVERYONE, not just you. The difference here is that we just shrug it off while you get fixated on your failures. Don't do that, it gets you frustrated and it gets US frustrated when you're just like "lol, I'm playing bad, I don't wanna play anymore". It's okay in random matches but please don't do that on "tournaments" and the Danisen league.
Skye Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 So you mean you just sit there and let people do mixups on you while you try to block? Kinda like training mode with a second controller? On netplay!

I want to be more positive and I'm going to aim for that this time. One time, I actually did laugh at losing a match because it was funny how I lost it. On netplay! ...Netplay with a good connection.
Moy_X7 Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 What you and Star need to understand is that it's just a game, so treat it as such. There's nothing at stake in these netplay matches, you've got nothing to lose. It's frustrating to play Star and he just drops the controller. You in the other hand, you just disband or leave rooms, which is almost as bad lol.
Skye Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 ...Netplay with a good connection. I have a better idea. Offline! Go into character forums and learn basic block strings and mix ups of various characters. Hop into training mode and record those block strings, include grabs. Then practice blocking them, then IBing them, then barrier blocking them, then IB Barrier them. You may fail here and there, but it will give the knowledge of basic block string and you'll be able to memorize and spot overhead when seen.

Except that I don't know how to record this stuff. I never figured out how you recorded that stuff in the first place. And before you facepalm or roll your eyes, I am being truthful about it. Or if it's laggy to the point I cannot get moves to come out that I just leave? Has nothing to do with losing. And don't try to compare me with Star. I'm not that hapless. I just have a defense/mixup problem. Everything else I can do. I feel that combos has always been my strongest point and I have had people say that. Edited May 5, 2012 by cookiehours
Moy_X7 Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 My point stands, stop having a negative attitude. Talk is cheap, put those words into motion.
cookiehours Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 (edited) My point stands, stop having a negative attitude. Talk is cheap, put those words into motion. The next day, I'm fine. I'm not negative to the point it carries into the next day. And I'm well aware its just a game. A game of a series that I liked since CT. A game that I spent time on. I don't disband rooms because I'm losing. If I feel a certain matchup is annoying me or I'm getting worked up, I cool off and try again. I wish people would understand that instead of jumping to stupid conclusions that I disband because I'm losing. Sometimes I *even* send a message that the connection wasn't good and say GGs regardless. And another thing, I can kinda see where Star is coming from sometimes. You can't have fun when you feel hapless in a matchup. I'm not excusing his gameplay or the fact he doesn't take advice but there are times where I have those same sentiments like he does. Zeron_X25 Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 Fuck Arakune's j.B. Nigga can just mash that shit all day and it even clashes with ID (wtf!?)
cookiehours Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 Fuck Arakune's j.B. Nigga can just mash that shit all day and it even clashes with ID (wtf!?) ...I HATE THAT MOVE.
Moy_X7 Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 You can't have fun when you feel hapless in a matchup. Speak for yourself (and Star), I have fun even when I get my ass whooped. I got bodied by everyone on the second set of the Danisen league. I still don't know how Carl really works, that doesn't mean that I'm gonna get all pissed and depressed over my losses.

You can't even imagine how many ID slashes I had in the recent weeks vs various characters and their normals, I face palm when I see that stuff, lol! jD and GH are your friends vs arakune though.

But I'm more positive today so I don't want to ruin that. I'm done. Time to play and hopefully kick ass (or get my ass kicked. ) I have nothing against you Moy. I guess our opinions differ. But I meant it when I said I'm not that bad of a person. Edited May 5, 2012 by cookiehours
