You don't run into 5B like an idiot. You hate a matchup that you're already playing right....I don't get it. Just because you can win a matchup doesn't mean you have to enjoy it. Imagine if you're Tao and are beating Tager. It's probably boring as fuck. Or from Tager's side, even if you win, it's frustrating.

Or from Tager's side, even if you win, it's frustrating. I enjoy watching Japanese Valkenhayn vs Tager because I think Tager is that dumb that I enjoy seeing him suffer as much as possible. So I'm sure there is enjoyment on that end from being able to toy with him and in the back of your head you know there's a risk that he could turn it around with one lucky guess. And for Tager's side I'm sure it is frustrating trying to land a hit into knockdown, but once you do you're probably pumped up and if you win I'm sure you're ecstatic.

Although if I had to guess it's probably "land a single hit and then run away for the rest of the round" I need to figure out an answer to those constant 6Cs. There really doesn't seem to be a good way to punish that move.

Be smart and avoid it altogether, or abuse the fact they want to 5B and neutral jump/jumpback and j.C Yes, that is an option but really, if you neutral jump, he can easily run in and 6A (or 2A, I've seen that countless times before), if you jump back, he can use 5C to reach you or even Hells Fang (Yes, this can catch back dashes if close enough), and j.C? Same answer to neutral jumping (6A). If I hit you out of 2B from afar (where you should be doing it) I can't do 6C cause the second hit would whiff, so the crouching state doesn't matter. And whiffing 5B with Ragna does the same for me as it does for you. Bait it. You sure as hell can follow up with Hells Fang on confirm though, and if you're close to the corner, and have 50 heat to expend, guess what? Rapid Cancel can follow up and Platinum eat 3K+. if he double jumps a lot then airgrab him. Belial Edge you'll just have to hold that shit cause it's not that rewarding and if we miss cause you backdash or something we are in CH state for awhile. You guys are making this seem impossible. Just be smart. Grabbing is an option but Ragna has the advantage over Plat in the air, if he's higher than her, he can just j.C her and if you tried to grab, you get counter hit, so guess what? You still lose out. There are other aerial options Ragna has in the air that can stop that or hell even teching your throw set ups work. It's not an impossible match and we are not making it sound that way but for you to say that Platinum has it easier in that match up with Ragna having better normals, better damage on random hits, better aerial options, and really good AA options, you really need to dig deep into the Ragna forums or look into your character again and figure out why you are having issues with a fight that's uphill for the opponent. You already do that stuff Kayeff says. Maybe that's why you win? You know to respect 5B so you have no problem with it. You don't run into 5B like an idiot. You hate a matchup that you're already playing right....I don't get it. I hate to be "That Guy" but you're calling Moy out for knowing more than you in a match up? If that's your excuse for losing then that sounds like a personal problem you have to fix. Like we said; the Ragna/Plat match-up is in Ragna's favor. It's not impossible but it is frustrating as hell to deal with. I know this because I know Ragna, and I fought a lot of Plats, good and bad and know well enough that Ragna has the favor in this fight. I mean, I can beat LostSoul's Plat ever once in awhile with Ragna and I don't main the character, that alone should tell you enough. Knowing more doesn't mean the match up is easy, it just means you know how to deal with it. Applying it in actual combat against another player is another thing especially if it's not the same player using Ragna. Edited May 13, 2012 by Shinsyn
