Huh, thought Akihiko's would be faster than that.

Well they all have Ragna 6B speed and below, not hard to block.

Kanji is the most safe, but there are 4f jabs in this game.

I hope this game is not as easy as it looks

Depends on what you consider "easy" and what you're comparing it to. There's definitely high level play if you're worried about that for some reason.

I don't think that having easy execution would make a game easy. I don't think there is much of a point to having hard to execute stuff just for the sake of having difficulty.

No matter how execution heavy or light a game is you'll always having spacing and prediction and stuff.

I actually think I'd prefer for a game to have less execution requirements like smash ( sorta ) because then I can spend more time learning how to play the game against people then having to learn how to make my moves come out.

A sense of propriety comes from playing a character/game with high execution.

It's simple human nature to feel better about yourself when you win from trying/practicing hard.

P4A learning curve is really good, you'll really get the hang of things once you really understand ur characters' OMC and OMC burst tricks. I had my copy since last thursday and im already feeling pretty great with Yu and Mitsuru, as I play i learn more and more, i like that aspect. can't wait to go to a few locals and majors (^_^). oh btw auto combos do suck sometimes lol

So, has anyone else noticed that certain moves do more damage depending on where you hit the opponent? For instance, Mitsuru's j.B does 400 damage unless you hit close to their stomache/thighs, in which case it can do up to 800.

Sure you werent holding B or had awakening on the opponent?

I didn't know j.B had charge property. :v: LK just told me that.

Edit: After further testing... I'm not sure that it's the charge property causing it. I can get 520 out of the charge... but not the 800 that I'm seeing. Still not sure what's causing it.

Edit 2: I've verified that I get the 800 when not charging the move at all... interesting.

No, no counterhit. Just simple standing opponent. If I was at home, I'd record this and show you, but I'm currently in Fort Walton Beach on business... :v:

Edit: More testing shows it's not related to the other character's body. It seems completely random. I hate to ask this... but are there critical hits in this game?

you sure it wasn't awakening related? you get a defense boost when in awakening

defense boost reduces damage to 62.5%

800*0.625 = 500

which is close (but not exactly) 520

How would it be awakening related when I'm seeing this at full health in training mode. :v:

Also the 520 value was related to charging the move. The odd value I'm seeing is 800... twice the normal damage from not charging the move. And I'm seeing it when I'm not charging it at all.

You can have awakening turned on and be at full health in training mode.

According to the wiki, the base damage for Mitsuru's j.B is 400-520 damage. Her 5B 700-910 damage. She doesn't crit, I assume it's simply range based.

Can someone else just fucking go try it? Go use j.B in training mode about 30 times in a row, and you'll probably see it.

Awakening mode IS NOT ON. Also the damage I'm seeing is 800. That's not within the base damage, which is why I want to know why I'm seeing this value.

Im at work so I cant even test. :P

Clearly P4U is more important than work. :v:

That sounds about right. Performed SMP combos on an Awakened training dummy and the redux the damage dealt was somewhere between 50-60 percent.

The most it can do is 520 charged.

@Jyosua: I was curious about your claim, so I tested it, and yes, I did it 30+ times in a row. I always got 400 dmg unless I charged it, then I got 520. I have no idea on how you're hitting 800.
