mAc Chaos Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Hakumen is back to CT cheezy speak Awesome. I loved that voice.

Valthazeryus Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 (edited) Valthazeryus and Isuna when u guys try tager again can you test any of the following things if possible? Check if command grabs are still untechable after a guard crush. Tell us about tagers overdrive. Does it also make the magnetism alot stronger? Is Magnetism no longer useless trying to pull in valk or hazama out of the air? Can you buffer 720 from overdrives invincibles startup? Are crush triggers rapid cancelable? Did you find tagers moves to be faster when you played it or does it just look that way in the videos? Check if they gave tager back his voltic charge 720 counter attack that he had in the final arcade version of extend but was removed later in a patch. Did they made any improvements to Voltic hammer counter attack? Was spark bolt given any startup invincibility? Does 6As super armor starts up earlier than before? Can you still combo after a 360? Can you combo into or out of grand punish? Thanks alot for everything u guys are doing for us! I think Magnetism is same level for Overdrive and a regular D move. When I played, I thought 5A linking into 5B felt a little faster. But that could just be the new sound effects on hits. Every character, when they hit makes a sound like they're punching aluminum cookie sheets. Lol. Spark Bolt with startup invicibility, I doubt, same with 6A super armor starting earlier. As for comboing after 360A+B, the new Atomic Collider makes it hard. This is all good information. I can try to test it out, but remember that there is a huge line of players that get restless sometimes. Lol. And Isuna already answered some. But your questions are asking for pretty specific stuff, like if 720C comes out of Overdrive activation if buffered, etc.. QUESTION: Are the BGMs remade or remixed? The latest batch of vids from Isuna has audio of the match, amd watching the Bang vs Bullet match, for some reason what I can hear of Reppuu playing sounds different, but Im not sure. Could be the noise though. Also, Bang sounds pretty serious from his battle quotes. AWESOME. I think the BGMs are remade. I can't ever hear them that well over the loudness, but I also thought the first time they redid BGMs. But they redid voices for sure. Edited August 12, 2012 by Valthazeryus
Agni Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Bang taking inspiration from the dub made me sad. So he's more energetic now? Honestly, the dub didn't really change Bang's personality that much. EDIT: IF they redid the BGMs, they better keep the original songs in as well.
BladeOfJustice7 Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 My opinion regarding Zanshin. While the input is much more easy than other reversals, you still have to chipsen between high and low, they dont catch throws, and isn't rapid cancelable. If you're going to hate a reversal, hate ID. You play each match-up diffrently anyway. Play Tager and see what a truly bad match-up is. After all, dont we all like BB because of the unique characters and the unique match-ups that follos, unlike Same Fighter? ^ Sounds like people are just angry they can't use the same approach on a character who is supposed to have the best defensive options in the game by design. Unlike most of the cast he's not very mobile and is forced to block and punish. Counters can easily be punished honestly.
Isuna Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Rather "I am a American super hero so I must say cheezy things in this cheezy tone "
Moy_X7 Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 ^ Sounds like people are just angry they can't use the same approach on a character who is supposed to have the best defensive options in the game by design. Counters are fine the way they are, they have an equivalent risk/reward factor. The thing that makes them truly shine is the fact that they nullify projectile oki as well as projectile cover (Ice Swords, Plat Kitty Missiles, Litchi's Ds). For the oki setups, you don't even have to get a "read" there. You just see your opponent about to dump some shit on your head while you're grounded, you wake-up, and mash 2D furiously because you SEE the shit that's about to get dumped on you and there's nothing the opponent can do about it but back away as to not get caught by the unblockable. I personally don't have a problem with it as it is one of the things that makes Hakumen... well... Hakumen. You gotta see it from a Litchi main's perspective though, Hakumen completely nullifies her best oki options that cost her meter for free.
mAc Chaos Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 (edited) Well, you have to distinguish between people getting killed by the Scrubkiller™ by hurling themselves into C mash and counters like a wild boar, and legit complaints. Litchi getting her oki shut down is fine if you don't like it, but it's just part of the matchup. Although, can't you change the timing and directions so it's not just DDDDDDDD to escape it? When I fought LK sometimes he would use it and I would have to at least wait a bit to counter each part of the staff because it was moving around nless it was just on top of me the entire time. I mean, if it's super slow and telegraphed, then what do you expect. That's pretty much the default for what is supposed to get countered. But it's supposed to balance out with other things; he's harder to fight up close, but easier to zone, etc. It's supposed to be part of fighting him, just like Tager can just backdash your shit and 720 on wakeup if he wanted. Every character has their specialty. Hakumen's specialty is disabling other character's specialties. Edited August 12, 2012 by mAc Chaos
Moy_X7 Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 I never got around to asking Litchi mains why Daisharin is not as viable as Stick Man in EX and Haku's 2D completely blows up Stick Man.
mAc Chaos Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Stick Man just spins constantly and can get 2D'd like Nu's rain of swords. The one where the staff twirls and you can input commands though, doesn't have to be as air tight.
Moy_X7 Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Yes, I know the difference between Daisharin and Stick Man and how Daisharin can get around a wake-up counter lol. It's just that Daisharin is somehow not as viable in EX for some reason.
mAc Chaos Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Hmm, that's a new one. His 2D isn't any different. At least outside of the proration and the way it bounces you after you get caught.
Moy_X7 Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 No, I mean using Daisharin as oki in general, against the entire cast.
TD Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 daisharin does absolutely shitty damage because of the last hit having 10 p2, theres no way to make it whiff in the corner yet so youre getting 1-1.5k on average from a successful mixup. it's still gdlk if the next mixup will kill but that's rather situational. plus it only does 5 hits as opposed to the 6 in all other bb versions
Nakkiel Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Yeah and it's not like Daisharin totally doesn't have a 10% prorate on the final hit or anything! i got ninja'd
E3vE3 WAZ HEA Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 (edited) from the video posted on bbcp litchi though, Mr. shtick no longer beats the crap out then rapid spins, he just spins and takes flight to the sky. Edited August 12, 2012 by E3vE3 WAZ HEA
Moy_X7 Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 I swear, some people bitch about the most trivial of things lol. Anyways, back to the current discussion. So Azrael's evil aura thing has projectile guard point and a counter that goes along with it. It reminds me of Kula's Counter Shell.
BladeOfJustice7 Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 No it seems to be an all-around guard point, I saw it cause a counter hit on someone trying to hit it, unless I am mistaken. Good sensible discussion about characters, dustloop has come a long way. Now we just need someone to post something stupid so that we can all go back to hating fellow posters on dustloop.
Moy_X7 Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 No it seems to be an all-around guard point, I saw it cause a counter hit on someone trying to hit it, unless I am mistaken. Nice, I wonder if it's a 1st frame guard point move.
BladeOfJustice7 Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Nice, I wonder if it's a 1st frame guard point move. based on this: Growler Field (214B, can be charge): The Raoh aura, knocks down if the enemy is hit with it, can be used as a reversal I would say yes, since it'll probably be his go-to reversal on wakeup. And he doesn't look like a character who would be developed without a reversal in his gameplay. ^wheres blade What?

And he doesn't look like a character who would be developed without a reversal in his gameplay. Oh, well now I wonder if it's a special guard point move that absorbs throws like Noel's Fenrir or Mu's DP lol.
BladeOfJustice7 Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 If you're asking if you could just simply grab Azrael out of his guard point stance, then that would be stupid imo. he doesn't seem to have any downright umvc3-esk offensive tools, so a solid reversal is necessary in my view.

Yeah, that's what I meant and I hope his reversal is throw invulnerable. We just have to wait and see how this Drive works out when people get more experience with him.
