Gyokuran Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Hazama's 6B is a low attack, but yeah almost every character has an overhead, some faster than others.
The Noble Clap Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Carl's, Tsubaki's (I think), Jin's, Sword Robot's. They aren't overheads.
SolarMisae Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 SolarMisae, when I took an extra look at your custom title; http://i46.tinypic.com/2euhfrn.jpg [bad pun]This would explain why Hakumen mirrors are always so interesting.[/bad pun] This is relevant to my interests. And hilarious.
severin Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Nothing wrong with universal overheads so long as they don't have super armor until the end of their active frames it's a good thing they're slow and punishable on block then. also amaneamaneamaneamaneamaneamaneamaneamaneamaneamaneamaneamaneamaneamaneamaneamaneamaneamaneamaneamaneamaneamane. there I've almost said his name as much as solar. I'm gonna be the best. give me a few more posts to mash his name. brb making spinning amane avatar
Agni Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 brb making spinning amane avatar I'm now conflicted. I love the hell out of your spinning Nu avatar, but a spinning Amane avatar would be just so FABULOUS...
Urichinan Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Ragna, Mu, Tager, Hakumen, Platinum, Makoto, Taokaka, Bang and Noel's 6B's are overheads. Litchi, Jin, Lambda, Valkenhayn, Arakune, Relius and Rachel's 6B's are mids. Hazama, Tsubaki and Carl's 6B's are lows.
Isuna Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 One thing I've noticed is that most if not all CT moves seem to hit from above, so all of them might be an universal overhead just like Dust in GG. They are Barrier Blockables, not overheads >_> Only seen Hakumens a couple of times but, doesn't really look an overhead to me. : p
Mumm-Ra Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Well I know they're barrier blockable but it'd be cool if they were also overheads.
SolarMisae Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 it's a good thing they're slow and punishable on block then. also amaneamaneamaneamaneamaneamaneamaneamaneamaneamaneamaneamaneamaneamaneamaneamaneamaneamaneamaneamaneamaneamane. there I've almost said his name as much as solar. I'm gonna be the best. give me a few more posts to mash his name. brb making spinning amane avatar Nah I still gotcha beat. You're not counting the number of times I wrote his name over and over in my diary. Lavender ink and everything. You can continue to try though. And nothing wrong with universal overheads if they're implemented well. Doesn't seem to be the case here though. I definitely like the CT system better than the guard primers. I also must see Arakune's new astral, and really wanna see Amane's astral on the whole cast. Particularly Tager.
SolarMisae Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 You must be so proud, solar. Yes very much so.
destruction_adv Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 So BB's jumping on the universal overhead route too? Everyone already has an overhead though... 6B: Ragna, Bang, Flat NOL bitch, Hakumen, Makoto, Mu, Tager, tao 6A: Arakune, Relius, Hazama, Jin, Litchi, that Magic Loli Bitch, Tsubaki 6C: Carl (I think), Valk 4B: Lamba, Vampire Loli Bitch I only did one for each character, but some have more. They aren't all on the same button though...so maybe this isn't what people mean by universal overhead.
Mightfo Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 brb making spinning amane avatar yes yes yes yes
SolxBaiken Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Crush Triggers aren't overheads (it would defeat their purpose if they were lol) and they can be barrier blocked (wonder if they force a set depletion of Barrier...)
Mumm-Ra Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 They probably will, since they seem to be pretty slow, at least Tager's and what I assume is Arakune's (from the trailer) are, and since both (and Ragna's, supposedly) hit from above it has made me believe that they're overheads, but that's just me .
SolxBaiken Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Well I'm saying it doesn't matter if they're "overheads" as they're supposed to cause guard break, so the hit level is irrelevant.
destruction_adv Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Well I'm saying it doesn't matter if they're "overheads" as they're supposed to cause guard break, so the hit level is irrelevant. But they can be barriered...so the hit level might actually be relevant
SolxBaiken Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 It shouldn't, it's safe to assume they can hit everyone regardless if they're crouching or standing (otherwise what's the point?) and yeah they can be Barriered, but the fact of the matter is you are going to be touched, the only thing that's of great importance is comboability (of which we are seeing a few) and recovery/disadvantage.
Mumm-Ra Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Your guard is technically broken if you're hit by an overhead while blocking low
destruction_adv Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 It does matter...it matters if you can barrier it standing or crouching. It won't break your guard if you barrier, so it actually matters if you can or not because if it's an overhead you can't barrier crouching.
SolxBaiken Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 (edited) Don't get cheeky with me mister~ = 3= Thinking on it, I'm actually interested in what a Crush Trigger does to an airborne opponent... I'm pretty sure it's safe to say you can Barrier either way since it's meant to be a general guard break (and the only way to do so) though overhead > guard crush sounds like a nice gimmick regardless if they block the overhead or not you'll break their guard if they don't barrier :o Edited August 26, 2012 by SolxBaiken
Yaya Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Bullet takes her shirt off when she wins? What a harlot. Unpure. A dirty character for dirty people.
SolxBaiken Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 J-Son no, don't say that D: And hey, she's literally on fire when she fights ; -;
SoWL Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Bullet takes her shirt off when she wins? What a harlot. Unpure. A dirty character for dirty people. It's actually her jacket. And most of the female cast doesn't wear a jacket in the first place.
