heavymetalmixer Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 Confirmed: Kokonoe is a paid DLC http://www.siliconera.com/2013/09/11/kokonoe-is-a-paid-dlc-character-for-blazblue-chronophantasma/
Tokkan Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 That's has actually been confirmed for a while now.
Circuitous Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 It'd be easier to know that if people quit posting useless bullshit. Plenty of infractions given out. 321 posts deleted. Every. Fucking. Time. A new character is released, we get this bullshit. How do you people expect anyone to get worthwhile info with the nonsense? Knock it the fuck off. If I come back to this thread tomorrow and have to do this again, I'll just ban the offending parties.
HoudiniJr100 Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 I understand wholeheartedly, and apologize for acting along in such bullcrappery (yeah it's a word to me)
DSveno Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 It'd be easier to know that if people quit posting useless bullshit. Shouldn't those news and information be posted in the News thread to avoid these kind of situation?
Circuitous Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 Shouldn't those news and information be posted in the News thread to avoid these kind of situation? It should, and most of it is. That doesn't excuse a lot of the things I ended up deleting, however. Ah, so as to post more relevant info myself: I'm curious about CP's pricing. What are the prices in parentheses? It means "with tax," nevermind.
Luminos564 Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 Actually I got a question for anyone that can read that scan: what does Kokonoe's Overdrive, Graviton Rage, do exactly? I get that her normal Drive focuses on the "pull" and "repel" but what about the Overdrive? Is it just the strengthening of those effects or is it something else?

Luminos564 Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 -Strengthens Graviton -Graviton gauge has a smaller consumption rate and a better recovery rate. Ah so the Graviton (Pull) consumes that gauge to the right. And Active Bit (Repel) might not? Interesting. I can't wait to see how it is implemented in the actual gameplay. Thanks for answering.
Tokkan Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 Ah so the Graviton (Pull) consumes that gauge to the right then? And Active Bit (Repel) might not? Interesting. No, they both consume the gauge but the gauge is a different colour depending on whether it's pulling or repelling (Pull = Blue, Repel = Yellow).
Luminos564 Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 No, they both consume the gauge but the gauge is a different colour depending on whether it's pulling or repelling (Pull = Blue, Repel = Yellow). So then, why is the gauge green in this instance? Is it because she's using neither Graviton or Active Bit?
Tokkan Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 So then, why is the gauge green in this instance? [image snip] Is it because she's using neither Graviton or Active Bit? Yes, pretty much.
HoudiniJr100 Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 It makes sense that way, but what gets me is the element icons, what exactly to they do if they connect to her specials like the freeze gun
Luminos564 Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 So let me see if I can grasp this altogether. Apologies if this sounds obvious to others, I'm just not good with characters with a lot of gimmicks. -Graviton pulls in enemies depending on where it is at, impairing the opponent's movement. Mirror matches with Graviton active should be fun to watch. -Active Bit repels. What it can repel though I am not certain. Projectiles seem like the obvious choice, but I also suggested that it might alter her specials. Please correct if I am way off the mark. -She's got a lot of gadgets that do different things. A freeze ray gun to immobilize the opponent outright. The scan seems to suggest that it can be followed up with the gatling guns. She's got a rocket punch which she can uppercut people with or shoot it at them. A "fire cage" (the move where she's seen firing a blaze straight into the air), which I assume is to further impair movement. A satellite beam that may/may not use a targeting device. I guess we found our trap character. Set up traps and control the opponent's movement options. Then when they're immobile bust out the spanners, wrenches, rocket hammer drills into their faces. Alright, I can dig it.
TPPR10 Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 Do we yet know how to activate or switch between Graviton and Active Bit? Also, I like how she can freeze and electocute the opponent. Its nice that those effects aren't bound to single character.
Myoro Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 (edited) If we are correct in assuming green is the neutral color (concerning bit gauge), then the initial belief that the uppercut robo fist becomes the rocket robo fist, while being pushed or pulled forward from Kokonoe, goes right out the window. In the scans both of those moves are done while the aforementioned gauge is green. I would not be opposed to thinking that the bits could slow/speed up the rocket powered fist and projectiles like it. I could see the slowed rocket punch being used in Oki, and perhaps the fast version would get more damage or reach further to continue a combo that had sent the opponent beyond your normal reach. If turns out to be true then CP adds a charge character and a trap character to the series, sweet.
Myoro Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 About the bits, has it been confirmed that only one can be out at a time?
Circuitous Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 Nothing's been confirmed. We don't have a full translation yet. Please feel free to wait for the translation rather than guess.
Mumm-Ra Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 (edited) If the mods don't want people to discuss and speculate what we know about the reveal in the gameplay discussion thread, then lock it. That way when we do get a full description of Kokonoe's gameplay aspects we can post a lot of "OK" since speculation isn't allowed. Might as well open a Kokonoe subforum already so all the speculation and discussion can go there. What's wrong with speculating? It's not like people are throwing a fit because Jubei wasn't released or something, what people specilate might even turn out to be true. Like what happened with Xrd's clash system, mods were against people speculating over a trailer, claiming that it was nonsense to analyze the first trailer. Turns out the speculation was true. Let people speculate. Edited September 12, 2013 by Mumm-Ra
Circuitous Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 I'm not stopping speculation, I'm reminding people that we'll have concrete info this weekend at TGS and once translations are done. If you want to make an educated guess, go ahead. For example: the green gauge probably means it's recharging.
AMB Bakery Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 "A wise man speaks because he has something to say; a fool because he has to say something" ~Plato (attributed, but not proven) Anyone who was given an infraction should think long and hard about which category you fall into. In fact, you should think long and hard before you even say anything. Think to yourself "Am I really contributing to an actual discussion in which I should wait for more information before making an educated assessment or am I just emptying the contents of my full-retard fanboy boner? Welp, it's that time of day again, time to smear Haagen-Dasz on my thighs and look at furry porn." Per the scans Kurushii uploaded, I think it's quite ironic that a small character like Kokonoe gets such large C normals in the vein of Ragna or Hakumen. A friend of mine is actually banking on Kagura to have a really godlike jump C. Though honestly, I wonder how the jump C normal shown in that scan works. I'd guess just from the animation that it downs just like Bang or Valk j.C but we'll see come the 19th. I can do rough translations if anyone would like based on the scans (for example, the comment next to her freeze move says that it might be used to extend combos, but that seems like kind of a no-brainer), though some of the kanji are so scrunched up that they're illegible.
Bibiquadium Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 There's a massive difference about logical speculations and "I saw a few pictures, here's how this character work." Or "Omg Kokonoe kawaii, they should totally give da supa beam super, this is sugoiiiiiiiii ~(;~~, frm dat pectur u kan clirly c dat she will be aburu two dew dat in dis eggsact c-nario". Thus is just common sense.
Dark Ranger88 Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 (edited) There are a couple of screenshots where the gauge is green and not completely filled (like the one where she's activating overdrive, using aerial wrench, and using aerial drill hammer), there are also pics where the gauge appears to be filled up and still green. Based on this and the pictures of her activating the push/pull being blue and yellow, green is most likely the neutral state (which lets the gauge recharge) where neither push nor pull is being used. Green probably has nothing to do with the meter being fully charged. This is assuming there is no bonus for having full meter and the screenshots didn't intentionaly leave the meter drained. The thing that people seem to have missed is the screenshot on the bottom right of the second scan. Is she summoning an orbital laser or something? Doesn't seem like a DD to me, so what's up with that? The beam looks like the blue Tager laser super, but vertical instead. This could be her second DD (the pic is just taken after the superflash) with Tager in the sky. Although that wouldn't explain why she still has full heat. The heat regen effect in CP's training mode (if it differs from CS) could have restored her heat while the DD was near the end of it's active frames though. If it is an aerial Tager laser,t though, it could do more damage in exchange for a more limited hitbox. On another note: Does firing the Tager Laser use 100 heat? In every screenshot of the tager laser being fired Kokonoe is at zero heat while Hazama is at 100 (indicating that the training mode options are likely set to 100 heat / there are also several picks where Kokonoe has full heat when she hasn't touched Hazama yet). However in the screenshot of the beginning of this distortion (the one where tager is coming out of the ground) Kokonoe has only consumed 50 heat, meaning that this DD could have an option to use an extra 50 meter at the end to fire the laser, like MTW->Terra Break. "A wise man speaks because he has something to say; a fool because he has to say something" I'm still relatively new to this site and hey I started off in the Netplay threads, where the posting guidelines are really lax. I just didn't know how seriously you guys took the main threads when I transitioned to posting here. Edited September 12, 2013 by Dark Ranger88

Nice catch on the 100 heat thing; That makes sense. It would have been odd for them to set Hazama to 100 heat and Kokonoe to 50. Useless speculation?
