Currently I play carl and Relius, so yeah, maybe just the nature of thr fight isn't in my favor since puppet attacks are almost useless, but Carl will get legit insta killed with an OD combo and Relius... well, luckily he has better zoning, but doing notable damage will be a pain. I love the general directiom so far, I just don't wanna die in one combo to Haks

Thus explains why its one of the worst matchups in carl forums right now, but that's beside the point. Any ada move is generally a free counter save Brio. Thats why he's the one character that UBs dont work on that isn't because of body size xD maybe I just don't have much experience against Hakumen, but with carl I havnt had very... productive matches in extend. CP I'm unsure of, but the damage... all thr damage

Carl's pressure and mixup game completely wrecks Hakumen; its definitely not in Haku's favor.

not true. carl's standalone pressure has a few notable holes and also lacks overheads. hakumen can legitimately get out. with the doll he still needs some sort of pressure to start/lead into setups, then it gets ugly but this is all assuming haku gets in this position in the first place (getting hit AND losing the wakeup game). it is extremely hard for carl to approach haku and get any pressure started.

i'm not sure which game you refer to (l refer to extend). admittedly, l haven't watched much cp footage of this matchup and perhaps some things have changed. but in extend, this matchup is certainly carl's bane.

It's definitely in Haku's favor. Haku's neutral is hella strong against Carl and can make it hard for Carl to approach Haku. Haku's counter also gives him a solid tool to get out of pressure + oki. Honestly, I'd say the matchup's bad based on the neutral alone since it's so hard for Carl to get anything started on Haku.

FWIW, this matchup is one of the reasons why Ryuusei claims that Carl is "not strong enough" which led him to switch to Jin.

One thing I noticed though while watching random Carls is that he seems to be the least changed, both damage and mixup wise. 4k still seems to be his meterless max midscreen and other than 5C jump cancellable, mixup seems about the same too. I might try him out, but not sure if I'll stick to him in CP

What I don't get about CP and the OD mechanic is how they treated characters who already had a mode change. Some characters had their powerup mode become their OD (Ragna, Bang, Taokaka), while other characters just got a new powerup mode to go along with their previous one (Hakumen and Tsubaki). Now I can understand Tsubaki's case. She didn't have much going for her, so giving her OD+Mugen to work with is a much needed boost. I feel like Bang got especially ripped off by this because FRKZ used to last forever once you activated it and he gets robbed of a potential OD that could have helped him in other ways. Also why didn't they just make Hakumen's Mugen into his OD and place magatama restrictions or start rapid meter loss after you've used so many?

I just don't understand their choices as to which characters they decided to give brand new ODs and which ones they didn't.

My pardons if this is a beaten topic.

Are people complaining about the 8 star, full overdrive, fully charged 6C starter combos? or is there actual broken overdrive Hak combos?

It is also very likely that Hakumen has damaged you by the time he has enough health to get his juicy OD combos. In many of the CP matches I've seen, getting caught in one of them is a death sentence.

There was one match where Goro was working on a perfect, but he dropped the finishing blow. The Haku then did an OD combo that left Goro with a sliver of health, even though Goro still won the round.

Apparently the only legit strategy is to make sure you have enough health so that an OD combo won't kill you. Unless you use Carl or Taokaka.

Now got to read through Kurushii's scans and no one seems to yet have mentioned that the part talking about Kokonoe's stage says:

第六階層都市ヤビコのとある一角にある地下工場だ

"It's an underground factory in a certain section of 6th Hierarchical City of Yabiko"

Not that it really tells much... was Sector Seven always located in Yabiko or is this Kokonoe's "personal lab" or what?

I still don't think Hakumen is stronger than Relius and Rachel, NVM!

Kagura will be playable at TGS? I can't wait for his basics moves.

Looking forward to the Kagura/terumi gameplay.

Also, this might be a silly question, but are they supposed to change a few things (gameplay/character wise) for the console version?

At the very, would they give Haku a small nerf if his OD combos are as ridiculous as everyone here claims?

I'm assuming they'd use that time between the arcade and home console release to test out a few things.

Nothing will change until the next version of BBCP unless a glitch is found with Terumi/Kagura/Kokonoe. It always has been like that with any ASW titles.

I was speaking mainly in CP. I decided to see some footage for reference and yea, it does look more in Haku's favor when it comes to neutral. I guess its just me who has trouble with this matchup. Its not so much keeping Carl out, but is sandwiching for me.

Well, his counters got weakened, so it might give Carl a break. His 6D is not active for a while so the onlynway he can frame 1 counter them is with Yukikaze.

Just to make sure I read this right. Wait, do you mean that he has no frame 1 counters outside of Yukikaze. What about 2D? Did they nerf that too?

Haks full OD sounds powerful but not broken big damage still seems situational.

I keep hearing Haks counters are blockable? so if you 'catch' a move does the opponent have so many frames to hold back (4/6)?
