She also stays on the ground too in corner combos so it's really good for wind regen and we get pumpkin + frog oki. I don't see where this is bad. Concering midscreen combos, right now we don't have much for wind regeneration with 3C SMP but there are still some things we don't know (lotus, use of OD?), I'm confident enough the jps will find something. Also, Rachel's crushtrigger doesn't bounce. It knocks them down, allowing for a 5B relaunch. On a stream Rachel did [...] 3C > 8D > (dash) > 6A > crush trigger for a knockdown and relaunched the opponent with 5B into BBL. TD Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 ugh, still waiting on that lotus effects... the guy was in training mode, seemingly experimenting with both lotuses, and nothing happened. is there any sort of text description that says what they are supposed to do? @sakaku ok i've seen what she can do in the corner atm, very impressed by the new combos and how quickly she recovered from the SMP nerf, also the wind regen is good. midscreen might have very similar combos as corner at least using 6a/4b, and might need crush trigger. george seems to be used towards the end of corner combos and needs 4b to connect correctly. besides OD use and lotus, l really want to see this throw > astral

samthegreat Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 (edited) @TD, the ranbat matches with Zero are on YouTube, but on the second stream he had convincing win streaks in casuals against Valk, Tsubaki, Tao (Matoi), Haku, etc. I recorded a quick OD combo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mi8MHWwsEDA Though it does use 75 heat (only requires 55 however), it seems like in CP BBL isn't always worth it because she gets meterless oki and damage rather easily in the corner. We can place 2 rods with one combo + frog oki (one with 6A > 236A > 6A stuff; 3C 214A [opponent techs] 5B 236A) and get the 3rd with the next combo we are going to land. Also, midscreen combo route might be [...] lvl2 j.2C > (5B) > 6A > 236A > (dash) > 5B > air combo. Reference. That was also a sick way to land a random lvl2 j.2C. I'm starting to lose interested in Lotus. It's time people figure out what it does, and it better be good because as things are right now, she doesn't even seem to need it.

I don't usually check this thread, but I happened to see this and took a look at the JP wiki. Here's what they say for these two moves: Belze Lotus Command:22+A(also usable in air) •New move. Fires bat-like projectiles from rods. If these touch an opponent, they become more succeptable to the effects of vertical-direction winds. Barrel Lotus Command:22+B(also usable in air) •New move. Fires bat-like projectiles from rods. If these touch an opponent, they become more succeptable to the effects of horizontal-direction winds. Please feel free to ask if anything else is unclear~

TD Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 more technical than useless. its going to need a lot of figuring out. my first thought is that the lotuses have good synergy with OD. there may be plenty of ways to abuse lotuses, especially if the effects are strong enough (like, lotus 5d pushing the foe half a screen). besides that, having homing properties is a great thing for rachel considering pumpkin.
Chiizu Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 If I'm not mistaken, the projectile itself is pretty much a joke with no hitstun whatsoever, and the effects only apply once the projectile hits. Your point about it being used during OD is quite intriguing though. I think we'll have to weigh both uses of poles depending on the situation once we figure out how to use lotus properly. In the case it turns out to be bad, it's not like we will miss it much anyway.

I've seen 8D lift the opponent all the way to the top of the screen (confirmed), and 5D3C with B lotus slides full screen pretty much (that was only my impression and doesn't really fit with the description "if these touch an opponent, they become more susceptible", will have to be confirmed). There definitely is something to do with that.
