Weekend was soooooo awesome, except for the fact that I got super sick the day of the tournament lol. Woke up with a fever, headache, sore throat, muscle pains... it's a miracle I managed to play well. My pool was unreal, it had Souji, Brice, Kaeru, Lich, TheBiter... Souji wiped the floor with me lol. He is simply invincible, during all weekend I only managed to steal one round off him. And it's a good matchup for Rachel too! I never thought the difference in level would be so huge... but then again nobody knows how to fight Arakune here. Nobody was a match for him, I was afraid he'd get bored haha. In comparison, Dora was much more manageable, I even managed to win a match against him lol (not to say that he wasn't strong because he's gdlk as well, it's just that Bang is much more played here).

I was nervous against Xie and autopiloted a lot... he did a couple of reads that scared me and got in my head. Apparently it's all your fault Dave, he knows the matchup because of you!

But yeah overall I'm extremely happy with how I did minus that match in top 8, everyone came to this tourney and the average level of skill was incredibly high... West Coast, East Coast, Japan, Canada... fun times! Still sad that Dave, TD and Gli couldn't make it

But yeah to stay on topic, who is that Rachel that Sakaku posted here? When landing CH 6a, he adds 5b 6a 236a before or after kerokero lol. Overall he looked really solid.

Looks like N-O to me. It's a-cho, default color and he does the typical N-O combos that noone else does (5B, j.3DB, j.C, land dash 5B, j.3DB, j.C, land dash 5B, 5CC etc).

Wasn't too sure what to make of this, but after 2C Rachel jumps into the air and the Wind that blows is somewhere in between 5D and 3D. I don't know if that's the effects of Lotus or maybe a new Wind direction (maybe 6D considering 5D and 6D have the been same for forever).

Yes, I noticed that too, I wonder if it's because of the barrel lotus (which I think it is). I wonder what this means, gameplay-wise.

Anyone else a bit disappointed that Lotus is all Rachel got? I look at all the other characters who got multiple new things and I just want more to play with.

Perhaps because I've played Rachel exclusively since CT and no one else, and I'm a bit bored.

Rachel's changes are more subtle though. Lobelia bouncing in corner, 4B bounce, OD, Lotus, 5C fatal.

I was hoping for a new DD, but I agree with you Gli, about the subtlety. It's different enough to change up the way to play Rachel and to make me interested in the game again.

Didn't Rachel's 5C already had fatal counter capabilities in CS2 and CS Extend? The thing is no one used it at all. Now 5C fatal causes CT/CS1 spin and I see some potential with that.

l think her normals and special are under certain 'rules' as not to break her. her wind already has tremendous capability and she can hit anyone pretty much anywhere on the screen, combined with all the screen space she can occupy at once. it might be difficult to give her a move that isn't TOO useful given this, for multiple reasons; the company clearly has had trouble figuring out what to do with rachel in the past. l agree with you though except l hardly find her boring after all these years.

I don't know if this has been reported yet, but in this video, http://youtu.be/35d9u-9R44A?t=1m22s , we can see that barrel lotus bats are affected by wind. I can't find the video, but I remember one where we can see that lotus bats can be winded backwards, so it seems that if you are willing to spend the wind, you can pretty much guarantee to get a bat on your opponent.
