Preorder can't come soon enough. :X l believe ive seen that rachel is unaffected by wind when using lotus, both ground and air, so she'll just fall slowly regardless of wind or not. I'm guessing it's more useful for corner carry? And I wonder if vertical allows you to set up more lobelias off of a single wind before BBL. if you're talking about horizontal lotus: corner carry, damage, zoning, it's all there. a lotus (the other child we secretly dont like but will never say) has... nerfed to hell j2c lv3 combos that do the similar damage as a strong starter bnb. aka not worth it. it does allow for 3 pole bbl's in the corner, and it has a cool midscreen frog combo but its generally outclassed.

You don't have all day to hitconfirm now so make sure you know your combo routes. They set the default training mode options to have the dummy tech and stuff now it's soooo nice.

Any tips for landing the [5B j.C j.236A] x2 loop in the corner? Anyone have a good bnb for midscreen they can recommend?

I seem to be struggling a lot with follow up 236a with dash 3c, but I think im just trying to input it too fast and it's messing up. I keep accidentally cat-chairing :/ like glirandly said, you need to relearn the timing of a lot of stuff. I'm really enjoying barrel lotus so far, especially the opponent seeking properties. You can move in really fast on the opponent, seem like it will be very useful.
tofurr Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 For the first one, if you start with the 3C5D, you have to end the combo at 3C, like you said SMP. If you start from something else that's not 3C5D and go into that combo route (...6A, 4B dash 5B, 6A, 236A...) you can do the rest of what TD said.

On some chars I can get 5BD > 6A > 4B > 5B > 6A > 236A > 3C > 214C > 5CC consistently, but others the timing gets wonky -_- yeah thats what l meant, 6b comes out sometimes and it completely ruins the combo. worth mastering imo. the second combo seems worth learning too for variety. dont forget guys pretty much all her corner carry combos still work in cp with a few variations to the combo (no more 5cc 236b dash 5cc for instance). if you cant do all the midscreen stuff yet, at least know the corner stuff so you can still play at least decently.

Yes, but I paid with paypal so I can't really help you there. Did you get a tracking number with your email? Maybe you won't get charged until it "officially" ships. Mine said shipped on cdjapan but it took awhile for the tracking number to finally show something and then say that it left.

Kinda useless but I tested out FC 5C > 214A > 2C > (frog) > 5CC > 6A > 236B > 5B > 6A > 236A > (dash) 5B > 6A > 4B > OD > dash 6A > BBL > 236A > 236A8D > BBL for fun lol. 8.7k, works on Litchi but not on Valk. Just thought I'd share lol Also, those CP Rachel mirrors with kirbster. Hype stuff

Mostly because of engine change but yeah just some things I notice as I am playing her: - Ground game is more heavily weighted (bnb change) - hitstop + push back on CH lobelia harder to convert - 2C is nearly useless - BBL isn't as easy to combo into. - Zoning isn't as "freeform" as it was in previous versions. Compared to her previous self these are pretty major shifts in her playstyle. But. I will say that she is still the same momentum based character we all know and love :V Knock em down... get em in the corner... set up shop. Edited October 25, 2013 by glirandly

Combo routes I'd agree, movement and mix up wise shes similar. Edit: Those points are valid, but when I was playing her it just felt natural 4B combos I caught on to pretty quickly. I take it that it means Rachel's zoning was pretty much do whatever you want in the past games which is far from the truth, as matchups played a huge role in what she could do at a given time. If you mean that her zoning just got a little more difficult without wind, needing to factor in more things as a whole then yeah I agree with that. Her zoning definitely did change, seemingly to collaborate with the new lotus moves. Doubtful they'd keep the old 236c with the lotus moves for example. For new ground lobelia trajectories it really looks like they wanted lobelias to be more focused on getting more sword iris hits, and also if the player wanted to hit full screen they would have to use a wind, which applies to all her tools now. Look at how 236a9d hits exactly full screen now, that wasn't a fluke. Lotus needs no explanation. S tier. And pumpkin/frog remained the same more or less.
