Ah, by "apple head" he's talking about "ahoge." Means "foolish/stupid hair".

I honestly never even noticed it.

Does ahoge apply to both strands? I thought ahoge specifically meant the one strand going forward (see: Lambda, Saber from Fate/Zero)

Oh okay. That's a little less confusing then. For some reason I saw it as 2100. So Makoto only went a year in the past? OK, that's a little less confusing. So the explosion that destroyed Ibukido in that timeline in Makoto's video was the tampering of Mu-12, correct?

Makoto actually went into an alternate timeline/previous timeline/parallel universe (however you want to slice it) that took place on 12/31/2199. Rachel posits that her ties to Noel combined with the residual energy within the leftover Mu-12 bodies at Ibukido and the nearby Cauldron warped her through time and space. It's actually a wonder she kept her sanity at all.

The explosion that destroyed Ibukido was probably the same thing that destroyed it in other timelines--Nox Nyctores Gigant: Take-Mikazuchi. Unless Mu's tempering went horribly wrong and the Cauldron exploded or something. I'm not well-versed on all the different ways that particular timeline diverges from the "main" one. It's easier to understand if you listen to Wheel of Fortune, a drama CD that showcases a timeline very similar to the one in Makoto's story: a world where Noel no longer existed. Wheel of Fortune actually ties into a lot of stuff.

Won't believe how many hilarious mental images I got from reading that.

I thought Makoto basically jumped into that parallel universe that Tsubaki hears about: the one where Noel dies in the blast, and Tsubaki ends up staying by Jin's side. Also the one Hakumen mentions, and the one where Tsubaki eventually dies because of Terumi.

I was bummed we never got to try and save Tsubaki in her story mode since it went at length about how she was brought into that timeline because it was an important day.

It is that universe, or one just like it.

Sadly, it's not like it would've made a difference. If Nu didn't kill Tsubaki, Take-Mikazuchi would've wiped her from the face of the map regardless, and that timeline would end. Tsubaki's death at the hands of Nu was more important for strongly impacting the Jin that would later become Hakumen.

Oh, and this is "interesting":

*snip*

At least now she doesn't magically change legwear in the middle of animation.

Yeah, argreed. And no, it is not because her normal costume makes look like a stripper (I have no problem on fanservice, unless it is ridiculous), but because that costume looks legitially cool. Though maybe that's the reason why she wears it outside the battle so that no one mistakes her for a hooker.

And she needs to look like a hooker in battle because...?

Not looking for an answer. There is no logic to be found here. We can just deal I guess.

I guess you could make the argument that since she's a spy, her current choice of clothing makes it difficult for her opponents to focus in battle. Then there's the argument that any "wardrobe malfunctions" would be real-time mental "guard breaks".

...then there's the obvious answer of fanservice. Let's go with that one.

Less clothes = more mobility = appropriate for a Makoto.

Seems like a simple concept to justify a fanservicey appearance imo...

There's a thing called "practicality" Makoto wouldn't stand out so much if that wasn't her every day attire, but it is.

I remember when I cared about practicality IN fiction, then I remembered the definition OF fiction.

:kitty:

I'm overthinking this aren't I.

God damn this subject really brings some people's piss to a boil.

If you want to talk about something else then talk about it. Don't just tell people that their current conversation sucks. That's useless.

Talking cat people. Boobs not popping out of microtops became the everyday norm since that.

[EDIT]

Also, to the person above me. I don't post here often and I just check for art and inspect Ragna gameplay, but from what I can tell? This is just Dustloop.

People tend to be blunt here. B\

Oh my God are people still bitching about Makoto? Seriously?

Rachel posits that her ties to Noel combined with the residual energy within the leftover Mu-12 bodies at Ibukido and the nearby Cauldron warped her through time and space.

You mean other Murakumo units. I have no idea where you got Mu-12 bodies.

Pretty much this; with Makoto's fighting style being what it is and how she uses pretty much her whole body, she needs as much movement as she can. And honestly it makes sense given who Makoto is; we already know she doesn't give a damn about if people see more of her skin than not, even if she's naked. Honestly it wouldn't surprise me if she did have a wardrobe malfunction and it didn't bother her and she kept fighting (which makes that one idiotic GIF somebody made where it does happen and she gets embarrassed hilariously inaccurate.)

I'm honestly surprised more people can't draw this conclusion, but most of Dustloop is intellectually deficient anyways so this isn't too big of a surprise.

Who fucking cares :v:

People who get bent out of shape over a fictional, fantasy world being unrealistic, or people who think all females need to dress like nuns.

God damn this subject really brings some people's piss to a boil.

If you want to talk about something else then talk about it. Don't just tell people that their current conversation sucks. That's useless.

If it's a legitimately idiotic discussion, people are going to say it. Don't just tell people not to tell people that their current conversation sucks. That's useless.

This is just Dustloop.

Or the people in question are just assholes.

No, they're "Mu-12 bodies". They were base bodies that were made the create the 12th prime field device but didn't quite make it.

Guess I need to play through the story mode again, because I swear they made it pretty damn clear that they were the other Murakumos.
