I usually hate Moetards but something about Noel had got me liking her since her/rags/Jin/Tager were shown in a trailer to UHD(the very first BB trailer, man that was awesome). I love her original look(new one's alright), her fighting style is boss, Cristina V does an excellent job as her, her themes are fantastic(except for the BD2) and while she has one of my least favorite drives in the game she's a pretty good heroine nonetheless, even in BB's bleak setting. It's funny because the original profiles for Noel made her seem like a much different character than what we actually ended up with. I kind of see where people can find her annoying but in her best moments she's pretty cool. Though, I WON'T LOSE! is like, the most annoying line in the game lol. And yeah she's annoying to fight against but so is everybody in the right hands and no one comes close to Arakune in that regard. And I like Mu, she's badass. Her battle outfit is overly stupid with the fanservice(admittedly the ass doesn't bother me, just the tie + underboob and clit guard + her pre battle outfit being better). Sometimes I feel like some of the BB females' outfits were drawn with Mori's penis. Edited April 16, 2013 by Soothesayer

Mu's battle outfit is... blech, not sure what the thought process was behind that... wait... yes I am. I never really minded Noel, I just randomly picked her up one day and had fun using her and decided might as well stick with her. I don't know how I can stand Platinum for extended periods of time but listening to JP Noel's VA making sounds for more than 5 seconds me want to blow my brains out. Also, facerolling drives. As a storyline character, she's alright. I do agree that her best parts come from the profound sadness she gets when someone verbally thrashes her. I thought Mu was an vast improvement. Then they made Sword of Doom II and turned Mu into Noel [a]. Now I can't stand her too. Also, you know something is wrong when Makoto has more material covering her crotch than Mu does. The only place I can stand Noel is in certain parts of the English Story mode and Remix Heart where I can look at Noel and Makoto e-mote every three panels.

Story-wise, I really wish Noel wasn't so incompetent; she basically spends each story mode flailing about, doing random/cute/sad shit until the very last second, where she suddenly becomes hella critical. Why can't she just be useful all story instead of nothing more than a cute plot device

Plus, I always thought "I won't lose!" wasn't as annoying as Aigis's "My armor!" line in P4A. And this is coming from someone who thinks Karen Strassman did a really good job as Phi in VLR too.

SoWL Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 But Noel's entire point is to be the overpowered Mary Sue insert who's not supposed to be in the story. Mary Sues tend to not get kicked in the curb by life at every opportunity. The thing I like the most about Noel are her voice actresses. Both Kondou Kanako and Christina Vee are fun women who love their jobs, and it shows in their characters. Her character fills a niche, and her gameplay is simple enough to recommend to newbies if they're not sure who to play as.

I feel sorry for Noel honestly, she gets a lot of shit, both in-story and out. She probably gets more shit than Ragna and at least he has a "I don't give a fuck" attitude about the whole thing, Noel is just....unlucky. Here's to CP where she actually begins to grow a pair. Seriously, I'm hoping Chronophantasma does her justice and actually has her taking an active part in the conflict instead of just being a tool used by everyone.

She will be forever flat (am I doing it right?). I just hope she dies. Her character design is good (pre-CP, I don't have much opinion on CP), everything else about her is just bad. That's my opinion.

I like her, but I do have gripes about her too. It's weird because I hate characters like her but for some reason Noel is one of those exceptions. I just hope she dies. Really, with expection to two characters *coughrachelandplatinumcough*, there isn't really one cahracter I actively hate. Like, I can find some moments with Noel annoying, but then again, Carl is one of my favorite characters story wise and even some stuff he does I can go "WTH, man?"

You're so stupid! /kick" Meanwhile, all it can do at you is cringe and whine in complete bewilderment. Ironically, despite being Mori's waifu, she actually hasn't done much. Outside of saving Ragna in CT, things have only been happening to her. She did get a powerup in the form of CP Mu, but then Jin kind of stole her thunder with saving Tsubaki when she took that form in the first place to save Tsubaki so it's like what the hell was even the point of that. But then, Izayoi seems poorly handled in the arcade too imo. I like her character arc of becoming a stronger person + becoming less passive, but damn did it take a while to actually become obvious. Also, her personality IS kind of moeblobbish at times. Plus she is...not the brightest crayon in the box! No really, she comes off as a little dumb.

I don't mind the moeblob, I kinda don't mind the stupidity but Noel's JP VA hits this specific frequency that makes me want to blow my brains out. In English, she's bearable to an extent. I will admit that Noel has her moments. I'll also admit that she takes a lot more shit than she deserves. She is occasionally endearing. In the end, I still can't stand her. And hey, I like Makoto. It doesn't mean I have to like her best friend. >.>

I'll hold judgment until I see the final product, but the fact that he & Ragna fight for literally no reason in his Arcade mode isn't making me hold my breath.

Jin's problems go deeper than Yukianesa. He is literally psychotic when it comes to Ragna. Yukianesa may have made it worse, but even without its influence he wants to kill Ragna. In CS arcade he overcomes Yukianesa's influence through sheer force of will and is as crazy as ever. In CS story mode he overcomes Yukianesa's influence and still wants to kill Ragna. Go through and play his story mode. When Ragna says they'll fight later, Jin gets very excited at the thought of Ragna actually putting his all into it. When Hakumen confronts him in the Cauldron, he says he wants to kill Ragna. It's not like Jin ever stopped wanting to kill Ragna--that was fanon. It didn't invalidate any of his CS character development because he never got past wanting to kill Ragna in the first place. They don't fight for "literally no reason," they fight because Jin wants to kill Ragna and Ragna isn't ready to die just yet. He's not even super dedicated to killing Ragna right now. He wants to save Tsubaki first AND THEN come back and skewer Niisan. iirc, in his arcade quote he still says something about how Ragna better not die to anyone else and gives one of his creepy laughs. It's possible Jin will lose a little of his fervor towards Ragna, but he's probably always going to have a brother complex. Dude needs years of therapy and some Zyprexa.
