N-Otoko is the best I've seen so far. Keita is also someone to watch as well

Also regarding something about the Data thread, I personally think 2B is a superior normal for neutral than 5B is. Mainly because 2B is a low, low profiles, has longer range than 5B, and on a confirm can cancel into 5B to go into a combo. The range on that normal is extremely deceptive

So who are the bullet players to watch?

Shingo is the one I'd recommend, but there are not that many replays with him, I'm afraid (0 reminds me of him a lot; did he change his nickname?). Keita and Ui-do is a safe bet most of the time, and BloodRayne is surprisingly solid for someone whose first replays appeared in late December.

That might be true, it's just that I rarely see it used in neutral. Then again, I've been watching less replays than I'd like to lately.

I played him a little over a week ago and his name was still the same at that time.

Huh, okay, I'll keep that in mind then.

A bit of a stupid question, but how do you cancel the Drive stance? :v:

I think how it works is that if you haven't locked on to anyone, you just cancel it by letting go of D, but if you do have someone targeted, you have to go for the attack or land, in the case of j.D. Maybe you can cancel it while targeting someone, but that's a question for the people who've actually played the game :P

correct, except that you can hold the button for maximum duration and the stance cancels itself with someone targeted.

So you can't just mash-cancel it while the opponent is blocking. Makes sense, it's just that I thought I saw someone canceling it even when it was locked on the opponent.

can someone explain to me how Bullet's drive work? I'm very puzzled because even if I read the OP I still don't get what it does and how it affects her/the opponent

thanks

Bullet's drive deploys a circle, if your opponent is within the circle she'll do an attack that homes in on their current position upon releasing the D button. Connecting with this attack gives her a level of heat (Heat-Up State, of which there are two levels). If you don't connect with a hit when you use her drive (Blocked or whiff) she loses heat instead of gaining it. More heat = different move propertiers/damage values/circle deployed with her drive increases in radius.

What.... happened here exactly. It almost looks like he dash canceled 5C, but Im pretty sure it's not dash cancelable. Ok then, he did 41236C. But that should have combo'd right. She went right through Bang. But the thing that baffles me the most is that N-O went into 720 after the whiff. Was it on reaction, or did he know Capture was going to whiff? I'm intrigued and confused.

Edit: He did it again..... So it's a setup. But how is this working exactly.

I suppose it's just that you can buffer 720 easily after a 41236C by just keeping spinning the stick: if they block it, you press A and 720 comes out, if they don't, you press D and Piercing Engage comes out. A pretty cool OS, actually, even though you need H1 and 50% heat to have both options opened.

As for the 5C-41236C link failure, it could just be him missing the link window, maybe even on purpose.

If you mean Piercing Engage, then yeah, it has its own input. If you don't, then I'm afraid I'm misunderstanding something. 41236C doesn't need pressing D to connect.

41236C is Capture right, where Bullet runs and on hit she throws them forward. I was wondering how even though he was comboing the Bang in the first example, 41236C's hitbox whiffed and he went into 720. I know Piercing Engage is pressing D after Capture. Im just wondering how hes making Capture whiff

Ah, well, remember that it can be blocked, so if Bang recovers fast enough, he can just sit down and block it, which is probably what happened here.

Can anyone make out what Bullet is saying here? I believe that's the name of her AH, but I just can't hear it.

I think I'd be able to make out what she was saying if not for the paper fan smack leading right into the astral heat wind-up before the voice clip, lol

Another question about canceling the Drive: how does Bullet cancel it here (and the one after that, too)? From what I understand, if she were to release the button, she'd have rushed towards Hazama, who was recovering and blocking, respectively. The only other way to explain it is that the time she can hold the button down is reduced on higher levels of Heat-Up, but it seems way too fast for that. Maybe there actually is a way to cancel it for good?

From the looks of it, I don'tthink Bullet can lock on a recovering opponent. If she was locked, a circle would've appeared on Haz, but since she didn't lock on, her drive cancels itself, and she can do a different attack since the opponent would think she's about to get her drive off.

I'm pretty sure it wouldn't work in blockstrings due to how accurate the system is about getting the lock on reticle on an opponent, I've noticed, it wouldn't work as seen in the vid judging how wakeups have some invinciblity that doesn't trigger her.

That doesn't explain that second lock-on, though. Hazama is just sitting there blocking, and there is clearly a crosshair on him (a red one, at that).

In other news, we got our chibi icon, huzzah!

Maybe you can cancel it by pressing A while your holding D. I've seen some players cancel it pretty fast as well. So I'm thinking that may be the case.
