That's pretty neat. It's likely due to the new stun proration system. I don't think Arakune was allowed to air tech so you get a huge amount of + on your oki to setup scary cross-ups.

Yeah that looks like the correct way of doing whatever the fuck Maou was trying to do vs. Yumura in that one GC set.

Surprisingly though, I ad libbed the other day against a Relius in the corner by not finishing a set of j.Cs which would normally be followed by a Hirentotsu, and was able to jump as he air teched and throw him, taking the round.

Of course stuff like this seem a lot stronger and consistent in CP, since I could easily get hit by j.A as he was keeping up the mash in order to tech. CP ones seem a lot safer and offer more variety.

I dunno, I'm placing my bets on it having some kinda start up invincibility. IICR, Tao's crawl can't low profile that super (and nothing gets lower than that as far as I know), unless Jakatsu has some lol hitbox.....or invincibility/autoguard.

it's a type of command grab, so I guess it has priority. :/

It's also got a 0 frame start up (I think). Also, it looked like he was showing off the inv. for Jayoku after that, so I'm guessing he was showing off what the grab gets away with.

http://youtu.be/-e3C7sL4ej4?t=4m28s what

Does Burensou have invincibility or something

Amazing cmv by the way, I'm so glad I play Hazama ;-;

edit

I-I think... he low profiled the bite with Jakatsu :v:

Start up is completely invincible, and after the freeze frame it's 0 frames. How long it takes to get to the freeze frame I'm not completely clear on.

That's nice and it also makes sense, considering he can only pull it off of stance.

Also, this set with NOZE-SAMA features one of the best, if not THE best chain usages I've ever seen.

I don't know if it's just me getting overhyped while being sleepy as hell at 4am, but I was blown away by this. I mean, it's easy to just throw out chains like a madman, but Noze does it CORRECTLY, totally on spot.

Most fun player to watch hands down, while being completely solid at the same time.

Mitsurugi a shit

Posted (edited)

Mitsurugi isn't a shit, he just doesn't have as much tensai capacity as Noze does. Sadly, Noze can be too crazy for his own body to handle sometimes.

That, and Noze has some just unprecedented reads. He bullies and teases at just the right spacing with just the right choice of movement.

How the hell do I make such simple spelling errors and such poor preposition choices?...

Mitsurugi is a better player and makes better decisions. Noze makes poor decisions often but has the best movement in the business.

Aside from Mitsurugi and Noze, who are other notable Hazama players? I'm way behind on watching match videos.

I like mitsurugi more but it's always fun to watch Noze to see what he came up with. Although the currently used bloody fangs combo came from mitsurugi I also think that was the first time rising fang was used in a combo so he really revolutionized how hazama is played.

lol I was obviously joking about Mitsurugi, I know he's overall the best Hazama player out there and I'm always excited when I find matches of him.

It's just that Noze is so fun to watch that others often look boring, despite being more solid than him. Mitsurugi is probably the very definition of solid; no fancy shit, he plays by the book but does it better than anyone.

Rocha, Maou, Udon, Hitotose, Kagetsu, Aru, Mutou, Ryota, maybe Onegai Jayoku? He's easy to find at least

Is Rocha still around (in videos)? I remember looking a while ago and he was pretty scarce. I found him pretty interesting to watch back in CS:EX.

maybe Onegai Jayoku?

I love that guy.

Maybe he's not the absolute best or anything, but he's really entertaining.:keke:

This is coming from nowhere, but I'm really surprised nobody has done Mizuchi Rekkazan Rapid Cancel OD combos. Both freefalling states before & after the fancy dancing are begging to be combo'd and would be so flashy as a starter or during mid-combo

Posted

Comboing off Mizuchi RC is pretty much only good if it's the starter, and it's rare/semi-rare to land a raw one. I'm still kinda lost on the new combo system, but in the previous installments, trying to combo after all the hits of Mizuchi was pretty much impossible due to all the hits murdering proration.

+1

Comboing after Mizuchi slash portion sucks. The pro kills it so bad, you get a couple j.5Cs tops.

The only good ways I've found to combo off Mizuchi is either 1. RC the second it connects (paralyzes for like 3 second) IAD, land, Zaneiga starter, or 2. let the chain pull them towards you, rapid, micro dash and Level-2 Zaneiga starter. Even then, they're both raw...

There's also the 3. hilariously glitchy opponent teching out of the slashing portion of Mizuchi and then getting reset by the end (where the 3 snakes hit you). It's weird as shit, but it can lead to amazing damage.

Hey guys, is it just me, or do people refuse to 214D~C after Jayoku anymore? Is it because it's just not optimal anymore? I mean, 214D~C>66C>66>5C>2C>4D>214D~66B>5A>gorillion damage sounds pretty nice to me.
