I can understand why people call it ass but I like what I saw. Decent/average animation was nice, fight scenes were legit but short. They could have transitioned into scenes a bit better but the game's story mode does the same thing so lol. The remixes were nice to hear, especially UHD. Overall, pretty decent, it could have been a lot worse but it's nice, made me happy as a BB fan. Hoping Ragna vs Haku isn't as short as the other fights. Also wondering what's gonna happen with CS's story (I'm assuming that they are gonna do CS, considering they did most of CT's True Ending in a single episode). They could also do time loops and more past stuff if they wanted to. This could go in a lot of directions lol.

They could do something like Endless Eight. That would be hilarious.

It could certainly have turned out far worse than this, and this is better than I expected.

I'd say it was "nice". Not super groundbreaking, but covered all the introductory bases of the BB universe (Ragna is a good guy who's best friend is a cat, Hazama is a huge troll, Jin luvs Ragna, the orphans' sad backstory, OMG HAKUMEN WHY DID THE EPISODE HAVE TO END THERE?!, mentioning Saya, Noel being a bit of doormat, etc)

of course things will get even more overstuffed with information overload once they introduce Sector Seven and then there's the whole Clover family story too. And the Six Heroes. And the Duodecim. Also Time Loops!

So I expect anyone who didn't play the CT & CS to be super confused by all this.

lol, this first episode alone would make zero sense if you aren't a BB fan.

But really, who else would want to watch this anyway.

So basically if you're looking at it as standalone then you're doing it wrong. It's just a treat to the fans.

i dont think this is gonna be true ending yet, but thats just me, gonna depend if Ragna doesnt activate the Azure next episode or Hakumen isnt teleported away by kokonoe, theres just too much to explain yet and characters to introduce, otherwise it was good, a lot better than what i was expecting, if it was a perfect world it'd be Ao Iconoclast for the OP and Stardust Memory for the ED, also, if it does go like i'm saying i'd reckon it'll be 6-7 episodes for CT and 5-6 for CS

Nooooooooooooooooooooooo

Forgot one thing: yeah, the opening is definitely lackluster. The song itself is alright but the animation is lazily/cheaply done.

But hey, there are many animes that don't even have an opening on the premiere. Perhaps they'll make a legitimate one after another episode or two.

Animated 6B has to happen. It will be the best thing about this anime.

Ha ha, I want to see that too most definitely. It really does have to happen.

...I still am waiting for Haku's 5D to just be a giant circle with the letter D in the middle :P

I'm hoping that they'll give it a more upbeat opening then the first episode, but it's okay for now.

So far, they established everything that needs to in the first episode. The introduced the main characters. (Ragna, Jin, Noel, Rachel, and Hazama) They've introduced the setting, (Kagutsuchi), created intrigue for new viewers. (Like why Ragna was so startled to see Noel's face, or Rachel's cryptic nature regarding the continuum shift)

So far, everything is falling into place. They'll probably explain more as the series continues. Sort a like how a lot of anime starts out vague to rope the viewer in, and then explains everything a little later to clarify whats going on.

If it retains this level of animation quality through its 12 episode run, I'll be happy. It could certainly have turned out far worse than this, and this is better than I expected.

Thing is, it's not good, and its not bad enough to be truly funny, like CS1 cutscenes.

Except the fail icesword. That made me chuckle.

I find it funny that Ragna went from Hell's Fang to Axe Kick, lol. Even funnier was that Jin got bopped in only 2 hits.

You forget that this is the anime, where every character is in a state beyond Unlimited Mode.

Actually, I think that was the Inferno Divider follow up. Not Hell's Fang.

I liked it. Not sure why everyone thinks the animation is bad, with the exception of Jin throwing that ice sword everything looked great.

People are worried about pacing, and yeah it seems fast, but this is CT right now, we haven't even seen half of the characters, and the story itself takes place in a loop, there are plenty of things that they could do with this kind of setup. Hell they might even be showing us segments of the story, maybe episode three will be a "meanwhile, this is what Carl, Litchi and Bang were doing while this shit happened". It's too soon to say.

It looks bad (animation) compared to most other popular 2013 anime. Mostly a budget problem. Hopefully they clean it up on the BD release.

Lack of frames and inconsistent faces are the main problems I see.

Honestly, I cannot see why people think we jump right into CS next episode. I think the episode titles just refer the character they will focus on. So the enxt episode would be Noel's CT story.

Next ep Hakumen had better go Mugen and do dem 10k damage combos and Tsubacopter loops.

Nah, OD Mugen...all of dat rape.

Problem with this logic: Noel didn't actually become the successor of the Azure until she stopped Ragna from falling into the cauldron with Nu.
