BladeOfJustice7 Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 I wonder if, when the entire Kiske family becomes playable, if they'll share all one song or have separate vs themes. I know Daisuke gave Ky and Sin one in Overture, I don't see how Xrd would be any different. I'm surprised also Daisuke/ArcSys are revealing the new voice clips, sounds, and remixed songs already. I thought they were going to wait until the game was completely finished.
Zeidust Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 Make da hype Make da Mirako [...] and remixed songs already. I thought they were going to wait until the game was completely finished. I do hope that when the game is released there might be a OST bonus in a special edition. If not I wish ASW would jump on bandcamp and put up their soundtracks already.
Toum Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 (edited) Don't know if this was discussed before, but it seems that I-no's got a new move in her command list: 214H in the air, close to the opponent. The name is "Shôdoku method" (sterilization method XD). Edited November 30, 2013 by Toum
king of heart Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 I wonder if Sol will have a different IK if he was in DI mode
NeoJET Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 I remember I saw that Xrd is 720P&30fps in somewhere, but now I can't find it. I just wondering if Xrd is 60fps or not?
zdravkelja Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 It will be 60fps for sure. Probably 720p on PS3, maybe 1080p on PS4.
OneSanitarium Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 You probably saw something related to the trailers, especially since Youtube videos are locked at 30fps.
Kitsoru Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 I wonder if Sol will have a different IK if he was in DI mode I am wondering/hoping this as well (I was hoping he'd get All Guns Blazing back, but the screen doesn't really look like it; so maybe in DI...)
Kaizen Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 Don't know if this was discussed before, but it seems that I-no's got a new move in her command list: 214H in the air, close to the opponent. The name is "Shôdoku method" (sterilization method XD). Indeed. Chipp also has a new move listed: 623 H, as another follow-up to Resshou (Rekkas), I believe. Slayer's new H-Follow-up has gotten a name change to Helter Skelter.
9TNine Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 (edited) Fair enough, those are all legitimate responses I never really considered. Thanks dudes. edit- Just checked out the new, slightly altered HUD. I liked it before but it's awesome they changed my only real (and very small) gripe with the design, which were the character portraits didn't stick out enough. Now they're bold and beautiful. Which is nice. They changed way more than just the HUD, which I agree is much better (I wasn't a fan of the old one). Even the stage has a lot of differences (Statue of Liberty face details, shield of one of the statues, the fence, shading on the building, etc.). I realize that's less important stuff as far as gameplay goes, but I'm really surprised at how much they changed stuff. I-No new move is likely a command grab. -9 Edited November 30, 2013 by 9TNine

Lol, Xrd is 60fps that is one of the 1st things that would have been mentioned day 1 since FG's at 30fps become quite unplayable, dunno if 720p or 1080p though, but considering how powerful is the Ringedge2 (is on the same league of the PS4 maybe more powerful), i will think that is 1080p. TheRealBobMan Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 Indeed. Chipp also has a new move listed: 623 H, as another follow-up to Resshou (Rekkas), I believe. Slayer's new H-Follow-up has gotten a name change to Helter Skelter. "When you get to hell, tell your brother HE'S STILL A DOUCHE!" Hm... I-No with an air command throw... it makes sense that it would be an air-to-air. Giving her an air-to-ground throw would be bullshit with her already good mixup. With an air-to-air, they could then give her shit regular airthrow range like in +R, which will mean she'll still be good at catching backdashes with her hoverdash, but wont get "lucky" airthrows on stuff like 1/2 screen bursts when ground canceling with j.H, and she can still have really good airthrow range with the command throw without having crazy option selects with her air normals. That name though. I hope it functions like the coveted flying atomic butt-pliers! As for the resolution discussion, ArcSys makes enough fighting games to know that they should emphasize performance over getting some extra pixels on the screen. They'll do whatever it takes to get the game to run at 60FPS, considering their fans will hate them and not buy the product otherwise. If that means 720p, that's what we'll get, though they'll probably manage 1080p, at least for arcade/PS4. If not, they might go for a non-standard resolution that one of the shooters did. I forget if it was Battlefield or Cawl of Doodie, but one of them did something like 900X800. Higher than 720, and they hit a stable FPS that they couldn't get with 1080.
Agni Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 Thankfully, the game'll still look good even with a slightly lower res. Plus, smoothness of gameplay always matters more--a mid-graphics game at 60 FPS will look MUCH better than a high-graphics game struggling to stay above 25FPS (I'm looking at you GTA V...). I expect this game to run perfectly while still looking awesome.
zdravkelja Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 BF4 on PS4 does 1600x900. PS4 should be more than capable to run this at 1080p, it's just a matter of time for ASW. Framerate is king but I'll be a little bit disappointed if we get something less than 1080p.
FallenWhite Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 I wonder if Sol will have a different IK if he was in DI mode I would have doubted it, but, well, we've got a Tyrant Rave that goes all the way across the screen now, so a change to the hitbox to make it not absolute ass would be appreciated.
-Kef- Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 I am sorry if this was posted already, but here are some scans for Bedman and Zato: http://img822.imageshack.us/img822/8366/rv6y.png
Kyosuke Kagami Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 BF4 on PS4 does 1600x900. PS4 should be more than capable to run this at 1080p, it's just a matter of time for ASW. Framerate is king but I'll be a little bit disappointed if we get something less than 1080p. I say 1080p+60fps is a given on PS4. I wouldn't worry. PS3, though, I am expecting a really half assed port. We all already know PS3 has such a hard time trying to run UE3. It can do it, but with framerate issues or sacrificing graphic details. Also, cel-shaded graphics. And BTW MK9 and Injustice are NOT good examples of UE3 games running at 60fps. Games don't even take advantage of the engine at all.
HolyOrderChipp Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 I really hope that the PS3 version is good. It would be a shame if it didn't run well or had glitches. But I think ASW knows what they're doing when it comes to the PS3, so who knows. Maybe the game just runs fine on PS3 anyway? It could be that they don't need the PS4's power to run the "real" version of the game, but they just want to capture the PS4 market, too. Basically, I really hope I don't have to get a new console in the name of getting a good version of GGXrd. That would totally kill my hype.
Kyosuke Kagami Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 (edited) Uh? How can that be, if Xrd is being developed taking in consideration a hardware which is A LOT more powerful than the Ps3? Ringedge 2 is more akin to PS4, power wise. No matter how optimistic you guys wanna put it. Face it, PS3 port will have to be a watered down version of the real deal (REdge2 / PS4), so we WILL lose things on it :8/: I can imagine that version losing the cel-shaded aspect, having toned down graphical effects and running on 720p, so the game can run at 60fps. BladeOfJustice7 Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 I love how Slayer's pipe has "Bat-Wing" written on it lol. Do you guys really feel that Xrd's graphics will be too much for the PS3? While I do agree that it looks beautiful, I don't see it as a notch above our typical PS3 graphics. But that's just me, I'm not an expert on graphics.
Agni Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 It depends. Xrd has TONS of tiny details like the writing on everybody and the models themselves, but it all depends on how power-consuming the special effects are. But real talk, PS4's probably gonna be the version we'll use for competitive play.
BladeOfJustice7 Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 As long as they come out with a new MadCatz kitty board or something for my stick to work on PS4, I don't really care. Along with being poverty status, I'm attached to my stick and I've hate to let it go. Nevermind the fact that I'm sure ArcSys is out to get my monies and will probably release a GGXrd MadCatz stick and wtv. But I'd like to be able to use my stick on PS4 personally.
Kyosuke Kagami Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 I am actually waiting for AkihabaraShop to release a new firmware for PS360+ so it supports PS4 too.
Suzaku Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 (edited) It's hard to say. Xrd's visuals honestly don't seem to be that technically demanding. The high-quality cel-shading effect is most likely accomplished by lighting the character models independantly of the stage and FX, and then lighting and posing each frame of animation as a single state. While the game itself presumably runs at 60fps, it looks to me like the characters are animated at 24fps. All of this comes together to create a convincing simulation of traditional, 24fps cel animation, while avoiding the pitfalls caused by dynamic lighting and higher framerates, which invariably give away that the game is in 3D as soon as you see it in motion. The character models do seem to have a pretty high polygon count, but not any higher than those in other PS3 games. The textures are probably pretty simple and, for the most part, the effects seem to be hi-res 2D sprites with alpha. The backgrounds are certainly more sophisticated than those in BlazBlue, but don't compare to the open 3D environments in most action-oriented games. There doesn't appear to be any blur, bloom, or other post-processing effects apart from anti-aliasing. There's also really not much happening on screen at any given time, especially compared to 3D action games with fully traversable environments and swarms of allies and enemies. So I really don't know why it wouldn't work on the PS3. Edited December 1, 2013 by Suzaku
