Ronove Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 saw some millias using chroming rose (i think thats what it's called...) to extend combos in the corner. it was pretty cool. i really like the idea of that super and i wonder how it really works. anyone know? seems like it would be rad in neutral It could be useful in neutral against in-your-face characters like Chipp but right now the general opinion among japanese players seems to be that it's best used at the corner. Activating Chroming Rose and doing TK Badmoon on a cornered opponent seems to be a good way to keep up pressure and allow Millia to attempt more mixups. If a rose hits it leads to a full combo though the damage won't be anything to write home about. I'm curious to see people try and experiment with it, it might turn out to be a really nice tool to use when going for crossups/Turbofall as well.
Xtra_Zero Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Speaking of Millia, she seems really strong in general. Dat beach mad quick yo. Mixups all day. Dust got raaaaaaange mang.
LeonD Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 LOL I think this has already been answered... but is IK comboable?
deadite Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 An news wheather the PS3 and PS4 versions will have any glaring differences?
TAI-X Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Nothing known about the console versions yet except that they will release in 2014.
Ronove Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 An news wheather the PS3 and PS4 versions will have any glaring differences? no official news but I think we can safely assume that PS3 version will run at 720p and PS4 at 1080p.
FatalDMG Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 I have quite a chunk of matchup stats for May, and wrote a detailed breakdown of the game mechanics. Hopefully at some point I will upload it to google docs. But being totally new to the game gives me such a great feeling. Absorbing everything like a sponge! I will attend a tourney for this soon.

She's always been strong, so this is nothing new. LOL I think this has already been answered... but is IK comboable? IIRC, either you or your opponent has to be in Hellfire state (i.e., the health bar is flashing), and the activation animation will freeze the opponent, allowing you to combo into IK.
XXXDC Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 I have quite a chunk of matchup stats for May Can't wait to read them .
Final Ultima Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 (edited) IIRC, either you or your opponent has to be in Hellfire state (i.e., the health bar is flashing), and the activation animation will freeze the opponent, allowing you to combo into IK.To be more specific, your opponent has to be at low life and then return to neutral to trigger their remaining life to flash (which occurs at around 20% of the Life Gauge or less, but the Life Gauge lies so your life total could be higher). They will gain the HELL FIRE buff to their Overdrives, but you will gain the ability to combo into your Instant Kill. If you have 50% Tension or more when you enter Instant Kill Mode, the Instant Kill Mode activation will turn into a super freeze. Edited February 24, 2014 by Final Ultima
Xtra_Zero Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 She's always been strong, so this is nothing new. Well, yeah. But for some reason I seem to be falling for her shit more often and she seems harder to hit in Xrd.
Tenj|n Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Yamanaka tweeted that the console version would be on a multi-platform system for both PS3 and 4, if my Japanese serves me right. https://twitter.com/Yamanaka_ARC/status/436885098827235328 Saw this little tidbit, somebody made a DLC Fredrick look for Sol's profile art. http://t.co/eXBsWOETFs

Then again, I have to go by footage rather than actual experience. ^ "Just in case (there are people who haven't heard yet), we're planning a multi-platform home release on PS3 and PS4 later this year." #NothingNew Edited February 24, 2014 by redsilversnake
HoudiniJr100 Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Saw this little tidbit, somebody made a DLC Fredrick look for Sol's profile art. http://t.co/eXBsWOETFs I like it :P As a fan of a hilarious GG college AU fanfic I just wanna say one thing; "needs more bunny slippers" I like it either way, especially how you got Fredrick's eye blue (since this is...well...sol before he became sol)
TD Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 are there any youtube videos of millia using this chroming rose super? also, how is bedman, is he any good? anyone kicking butt with him yet? and what is he anyway, some sort of rush/zoning hybrid?
Mumm-Ra Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Faust is looking pretty top tier to me right now, the recovery in f.S is like nonexistent.
Akujikan Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Faust is looking pretty top tier to me right now, the recovery in f.S is like nonexistent. Yeah, Faust f.S is bonkers right now, especially since on hit or block it can cancel into item throw pretty safely from the next zip code.
axel Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 EDIT- http://youtu.be/UkvENUnN83M Seems like when opponent is sandwiched between Zato and shadow, opponent gets pushed towards Zato instead of away, kinda like Carl and the puppet. Does 1st hit of Shadow Gallery give knockdown?
BladeOfJustice7 Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Faust is already not looking as strong with the recent vids, like HEVEN's venom. Holy shit his match with that Slayer was hella hype along with his match against BOB's Zato. I'm surprised by how quickly HEVEN is discovering optimal corner combos and mixup/pressure tools with him so soon. Faust will definitely be a strong character down the road, but I doubt as strong once people learn how to play the game and not treat it like AC/ACR. But seeing Faust is tiring lol. Glad to see people are already figuring things out, Millia is coming along well (she just lacks abare and oki setups), but Slayer, Zato, Chipp, and Potemkin still have a long way to go in my opinion more so than the rest of the cast.
STenSatsu Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Ya, HEVEN's play in that Mikado 3v3 was great. Loved the IAD combos.
Starlight777 Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 I hope someone figures out Bedman soon, I haven't seen anyone win with him yet. It does makes sense though seeing as he's an entirely new character in a roster full of veterans.
SoWL Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 I hope someone figures out Bedman soon, I haven't seen anyone win with him yet. It does makes sense though seeing as he's an entirely new character in a roster full of veterans. I remember seeing BBCP's newcomers all over the place right after the game's release, so I'd rather blame his unorthodox playstyle. Yeah, Faust f.S is bonkers right now, especially since on hit or block it can cancel into item throw pretty safely from the next zip code. Isn't that pretty much how it is with his old f.S? I'd say the only trade-off is that it doesn't move him forward. Not sure whether it comes out faster or not, but it might. Saw this little tidbit, somebody made a DLC Fredrick look for Sol's profile art. http://t.co/eXBsWOETFs If anything, those green slippers remind me of Okarin. When is someone going to start a Bedman thread in his character discussion board? It doesn't have a moderator yet either. Bringing this point up from a couple pages back. It's fine to try and organize the subforums the way the admins want it to be, but it's a totally different matter when you do nothing and forbid the userbase from doing anything, too.
Xtra_Zero Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Does anyone have a link to a video of Sol (crouching) CH 5H Bandit Bringer working? I swear I just did it on the CPU and it didn't combo.

It does makes sense though seeing as he's an entirely new character in a roster full of veterans. I faced a pretty damn good bedman this past weekend. Bedman is a very dangerous zoning character since he has so many tools for almost any situation. May vs. Bedman seems to a pretty uphill battle since he covers much of the screen and his projectiles out prioritize mays completely. Not to mention her J.2HS gets beat clean by bedmans anti air.. he is a problem to deal with.
ElvenShadow Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Yea... there aren't that many Bedman players in general yet but I think he will get better once people figure out how to use him more. It is still pretty early. I have only fought Bedman a hand full of times. You can see a few matches of me fighting some Bedman players here from the Mikado stream footage right before the 3 on 3 from Saturday. http://www.twitch.tv/joniosan/b/505362387 My matches start around 4:31:00. I had a bunch more matches that didn't get recorded. Had a good win streak going but then people stopped playing me and I lost to MOM mode right before the tournament started LOL
