Mumm-Ra Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 At 3:17, Elphelt does 4 shotgun blasts in a row. Every hit is techable, but If I stun someone near the corner, I'm doing a few of those if it's early enough in the combo. yeah that's good damage, I can't wait for the combos. I wonder if you can yrc the shotgun shot and still get the blast out, like with proyectiles (stunedge, chemical love, tandem top) or if it counts as a physical attack.
Uncivilized Elk Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 Do we need to worry about that "very stable" comment about the game running on PS3? I'm now super worried about frame rate drops...
Kieofire Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 Do we need to worry about that "very stable" comment about the game running on PS3? I'm now super worried about frame rate drops... Â I feel like you shouldn't worry about it due to the PS3 version running at the same resolution as the arcade version, if they mess it up then something would have to be very wrong.
king of heart Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Me and Elven shadow and the other killer players will be playing the tournament on a PS4 pad on a laggy screen lol.
sren Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 http://live.nicovideo.jp/watch/lv192598848 guess the TGS pad tourney soon over here
TheRealBobMan Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Daisuke is on the stream now. Looks like it's going to finally start.
Kieofire Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 After sitting through their boring waiting music for an hour I hope these matches are more entertaining than the exhibition matches from yesterday.
kosmos badgirl Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 I think I missed, anyone recorded it?. I guess it was nothing special, right?.
SolxBaiken Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 I was satisfied = w=b  Pachi exhibition was nice, got to see some more of Sin in action + w+ and lol Elphelt can get a confirm from full screen snipe with RC lol  But too much kanchou [100% success in Hellfire is still pretty D:]  Watch Pachi nerf demand Faust nerfs now, just like how Chipp has no health because Ishiwatari lost instantly to him in an exhibition /funnyoldrumors

NesmerII Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 #buffprotectorofzeppianskies  Obviously I haven't played the game, but I'm going to be pretty f#cking disappointed if and when I get Xrd and my brother consistently beats me because Potemkin is shit now.  But then again, he mains Slayer, so I might be ok.  THEN AGAIN, our best friend mains FAUST OHFUK.   Regardless, looking at how the reported tier lists have been generally structured, I feel game balance in general would benefit greatly from giving Venom some help with whatever he needs (damage?), and giving Potemkin his AC tools back (heat knuckle oki, 5P hits crouch, 2S VACUUM GOD DAMN WITH XRD PUSHBACK COME ON) and maybe letting air ICPM be combo'd into from jH or something.  That flame pillar will never ever be even remotely useful though.  What in the actual fudge were they thinking?  In terms of Axl, seeing as how his damage seems ok but his gameplan is boring, is it even possible to easily "fix" him?  Oh, and while they're at it, give Mr. Zepp his old defense rating back FFS.  I know Pachi allegedly hates grapples, but when the only character in the game without a standard forward dash DOESN'T have a SIGNIFICANTLY higher defense, then there's something wrong.

Circuitous Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Obviously I haven't played the game, but I'm going to be pretty f#cking disappointed if and when I get Xrd and my brother consistently beats me because Potemkin is shit now. I know Pachi allegedly hates grapples, but when the only character in the game without a standard forward dash DOESN'T have a SIGNIFICANTLY higher defense, then there's something wrong.5P doesn't have to hit crouch since they buffed 2P. Now they have separate purposes and this is fine. 5P whiffing crouchers even allows stupider tick grabs. Embrace it.Also, ICPM does combo from j.H if you do it at the right height (which FAB is getting much more consistently now - it's actually viable). Trishula is weird but has uses, eating projectiles and controlling space directly above him pretty well.Potemkin could use some stuff but he's not as suffering as we once believed. You'll be okay. (Except against Faust, but one of them would need a complete overhaul to make that matchup good.)
the_d3v Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Actually PS3 version was playble at Arc's booth. Â It looked really decent! me and Elven Shadow were really surprised! What worries me the most is if there's any slowdown at certain points when things get to flashy. Â Here's hoping that there's none of this when it comes out.
redsilversnake Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Interview with Daisuke. Â http://www.inside-games.jp/article/2014/09/21/80801.html The main takeaway from this: offline replays, which can be uploaded to the leaderboards. The rest is basically him giving general overviews of Sin and Elphelt, and hyping up story mode.
Maker Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 What worries me the most is if there's any slowdown at certain points when things get to flashy. Â Here's hoping that there's none of this when it comes out. I remember reading somewhere that the PS3 version was the "arcade port" and that the PS4 version had upscaled graphics.
SoWL Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 The main takeaway from this: offline replays, which can be uploaded to the leaderboards. Finally. Let's hope other devs get the message and let us record offline replays, as well.
SoWL Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Uhh, yeah, like them I mostly play ASW fighters, which never had that feature, so go figure. Also, I believe we tried saving some offline UNIEL replays, but didn't see any "Press Start to save" messages after our fights.
SolxBaiken Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Well, at the very least, PS4 and X1 have native video recording/editing/sharing so this will be less of an issue going forward.
Uncivilized Elk Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 I remember reading somewhere that the PS3 version was the "arcade port" and that the PS4 version had upscaled graphics. Yeah, and now if you've been keeping up you would have also read that it is now being claimed it was easier to port to PS4 than to PS3. Which is what raised concerns.
Mebaro Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 i got a chance to play both sin and EL at TGS and heres what i remember  Sin: you can cancel special moves into special moves if you have food? meter, i don't know if moves needs to be in specific order  236HS: can be charged for a long time, i don't know what happens if it hits fully charged  RTL: you control the direction of last 2 hits  Instant kill: you can see part of it in the trailer where he pins down sol with his flag  EL: you can switch between shotgun and rifle  shotgun stance: you cant jump in this stance, her dust animation changes and doesn't have that dust particle effect, not sure if still act as dust because i didnt land a hit with it  Rifle stance: pressing D goes to normal stance and pressing i think (S,HS) shots the rifle, i dont know if they are different  the cake super is 236236D  Â
CCVengeance Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Missed it but hopefully it was recorded?
the_d3v Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 I remember reading somewhere that the PS3 version was the "arcade port" and that the PS4 version had upscaled graphics. PS3 specs are lower than the arcade board, so it's a legit concern that there might be performance issues with it, especially with Ishiwatari saying something to the effect that it wasn't an easy port.
