TPPR10 Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 Few news: First, Sakurai has stated that you shouldn't expect seeing a lot of third-party characters (I think Namco Bandai said they don't wish to add any, so MegaMan might be an expection) http://kotaku.com/dont-expect-a-lot-of-third-party-characters-in-the-nex-513203533 Second, he also said that the new direction they are taking with the game is to strike a balance between casual and hardcore players http://kotaku.com/the-next-smash-bros-will-balance-casual-and-hardcore-513211771
Kyosuke Kagami Posted June 18, 2013 Author Posted June 18, 2013 I just hope they find a way to justify having 3 fucking Star Fox characters who have a lot of similarities. IMO they can just nuke Falco and Wolf. Also they better NOT remove Ike. Or his gamestyle, at least.
Starlight777 Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 If more than one StarFox character ends up in the roster, one of them better have a damn Arwing for a Final Smash.

psycofang2 Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Game needs Lloyd "Swordrain" Irving and I'll buy 3 copies. as long as its sonic/super sonic sword rain and rising pheonix involved ill take it. hi ougi needs to be judgement light spear, not that eternal sword shit.
Chaoschao222 Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 Shoutouts to expected events \o/ At least Persona gets more love, now.
Tokkan Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 LOL! Nintendo said, don't watch our game scrubs! Tell me I'm a bad person, because this made me smile for some reason.
RifleAvenger Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 (edited) LOL! Nintendo said, don't watch our game scrubs! Because obviously, casual players of smash will see this, feel inferior, and never buy a SSB game again. Never mind that most people who don't have at least some interest in competitive fighter or competitive smash won't even know this exists, and be none the wiser for it. Even if it did pose a threat to their self-esteem. I have no interest in Smash beyond goofing off myself, but seriously, what is Nintendo thinking? Unless some executive over there is just mad that MLP didn't get the spot. Edited July 9, 2013 by RifleAvenger
Starlight777 Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 Shame, I was actually looking forward to watching "No Items, Fox only, Final Destination!" as a main event. Persona filling in that slot? Should've went to Skullgirls as runner up of that fundraiser.
Hecatom Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 LOL! Nintendo said, don't watch our game scrubs! I fucking love this good call Nintendo  This way we have more persona and no smash is a win win situation
YoYoCheese Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 I love Nintendo, but I really can't support this. They just lost a ton of points for me.
Vulcan422 Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 (edited) Wow. This may have just surpassed former Xbone policies as biggest dick move ever in my book. Although I heard this happened at an MLG event so I should not be surprised. I feel really sorry for Smash players right now. EVO was going to be their Woodstock, and now the company they support goes and betrays them like this. Edited July 10, 2013 by Vulcan422
haketh Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 I fucking love this good call Nintendo  This way we have more persona and no smash is a win win situation You are the most hypocritical piece of shit.
Chaoschao222 Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 and now the company they support goes and betrays them like this. Well...
Elochai Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Looks like Smash is back. http://shoryuken.com/2013/07/09/changes-to-evo-2013-smash-schedule/
SolxBaiken Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Now it's time for all the loyalist who shunned their idol to backtrack, thus strengthening their devotion, because "they listen". Damn Microsoft and Nintendo are evil geniuses.
Hecatom Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 (edited) Lol, it was damn obvious that they will retract due the backlash You are the most hypocritical piece of shit. Cry me river marica Edited July 10, 2013 by Hecatom
Kyosuke Kagami Posted July 10, 2013 Author Posted July 10, 2013 Fuck final destination matches. Boring ass shit to watch
TheRealBobMan Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Man, I know it's a meme and all, but that stage ****ing sucks. Newbies and scrubs always pick it saying it's balanced, but they usually play Samus or Falco or someone that has strong projectiles and benefits from the terrain. At least in competitive play people counterpick. Hopefully we wont see Jiggs vs Young Link on Dreamland go to a time out again though, while the dudes on commentary talk about how gay the game is. The only good thing about FD were matches like Isai vs Neo (I think it was his Roy) were amazing. 1:30 of the Roy player jumping around zoning on the other side of the stage while Isai's Falcon stands still. Then he empty jumps, to forward jump knee > knee > Dair spike. I can't believe it was removed from youtube. *shakes fist* Glad Nintendo decided to not be asshats about this one. As much as I'd rather see Skullgirls or Guilty Gear at Evo, I'm glad Smash got a spot.
Agni Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 I heard from the grapevine that this may have actually been a problem with an automated email-reply system Nintendo has. It's possible that Nintendo just automatically robo-replies any email with the word "streaming" in it with the response "private streaming is not allowed". The person I talked guessed this because EVO apparently got their reply back almost instantly. So Ninty might not have been intending on blocking the evo streams (which is why they apologized so quickly).

But hey, all's well that ends well.
