Samurai deeper kyo rep

Nice to know I wasn't the only person that thought that immediately, before remembering the series wasn't in Jump. :yaaay:

Final Trailer

Man, I was on the fence, but seeing a crossover of this magnitude just makes me so pumped! [even for the series I know nothing about/don't care for] and man, it is always cool to see how characters interact in this environment lol

13 freaking minutes? Can that even be considered a trailer by now?

Favorite point is probably Jonathan passing the baton to Bobobo with a CV joke (Bobobo is voiced by the same actor as Dio).

Assist only, sadly...

God dammit. Just when D-Gray man was the only Jump series I've seen that I thought was really good...

Katekyo Hitman Reborn has kind of a special place in my heart, so right now Tsuna is one of the few I legitimately want to play.

Really long promos like this one are meant to be played on loop in store displays.

I'm just wondering. Is there any chance of it getting a NA release? Or will the North Americana owners, not collaborate, and because of copyright clams, never get released outside of Japan?

A snowball's chance, BUT stranger things have happened lately, and it has more of a shot than previous Jump Stars games.

The biggest hurtle is bringing enough interest to the company, sure we appealed to Harada for Project X Zone but [as it featured Tekken characters] he actually had something to gain from that. As it stands, no one really has any major stake to gain from bringing this over here, it would pretty much be on faith and a labor of love. That said, we have gotten 3 One Pieces games, Fist of the North Star, Bleach, Saint Seiya, and even the new Jojo's game over here, not to mention non-stop Naruto support. So there's a chance [depending on how well enough those games sold individually as they are all held by Bamco] that J-Stars could be consider.

Yooooooo is that uhhh the guy who voices Eddie voicing that dude with the yellow afro?!

If this game does come out to NA I am so using him.

Yep, it's him and the new voice of Dio (Jojo) voicing Bobobo Bobobobo (the afro guy).

For anyone who cares [lul reviews. lul Famitsu reviews] Shounengamez translated Famitsu's review.

Points of interest:

  • Minimum completion time is 5 hours, with up to 60 for 100% [apparently the story is split into 3 arcs]
  • Apparently Vita ver's camera movement is kinda bad
  • On Vita touch screen control is required(?) but intuitive
  • Difficulty can spike

The game is out, and while I'll only get my copy around April, there are already quite a few gameplay videos around the net. For now, here are the demonstrations of all the moves in the game:

Yeah, game is a blast so far but man is the J-Adventure mode tiresome at times....but once you get the high flying ship it isn't so bad. Haven't touched online yet [want to make sure I'm at least Scrub 1st Class] but Kenshin is everything I wanted and more :D Now I just need to find a really good assit...

Not even sure where one would start when writing a guide for a game like this...

My friend down the hall ended up downloading the game and I probably won't be able to play it till tonight or this weekend. I'll gladly provide footage if necessary, I'm sure story will get my channel pulled down so I guess I can do training room and hopefully look into versus and netplay.

Like everyone I'll most likely end up playing Medaka and subbing Himura. All through YouTube this morning all I found was character demonstrations and people didn't even know how to play them, just mashing till something happened.

Posted

Sadly there is no real format of training mode [most are just using vs 2P or lvl 1 CPU] and I doubt story footage would get taken down but either way it is kind of unremarkable honestly [actually kind of a hassle lol]. I'll probably try out some netplay tomorrow.

Can't say jack about Medaka but Kenshin is fun, but yeah this game will attract a lot more casuals and it is only day 1, so yeah lol

Is anyone interested in getting a digital copy with me? You only need to get one 3000 yen jpn psn card.

PM me if you'd like to buy it with me!

Edit: Closed.

I'll be down to play once my copy gets here :> it already shipped but I'm still waiting lol.

No training mode is a bummer but I wasnt expecting the game to take itself too seriously. Question to the ones that have it, how spammy is it? is there any chance to take it seriously or is it just like the Naruto Storm series where certain combinations can just derp everyone out? can you call assists mid-hitstun?

Posted

Yes! I want to know if I should play this competitively as I hope it will act as a Naruto and possibly Smash replacement back in the states (Even Injustice). Yeah, I'm having a miserable time and these E-9 are calling some bad shots on my end, I won't be able to play it or record any footage till the weekend.

Assist characters are what I'm somewhat questionable about. Will they have to be in agreeance with your online or offline partner while choosing one? Is there a wiki that explains every assist abilities? I'll possibly consider a healer type since I'll probably depend on my own performance for combos and such.

Posted

The only wiki that I found has been dead for about half a year now, so it's difficult to learn anything other than what you can see in the videos. I do know that all Assists only have one attack they can perform, and the healing one is the To Love-Ru super-interesting girl.

I'm working on a write up now.

Also just because there's no traditional training mode doesn't mean it is not "serious" [does Gundamn have one? Either way this is pretty much the -even more- anime ver of Extreme VS, and we all see how well that was received]. Of course it is too early to tell how truly good anything is at the moment, but some quick responses:

- Yes you share your assist with your partner, so call them wisely

- You "can" spam, however there's so much start up and recovery on nearly everything that I wouldn't advise it lol, as you get used to the game you'll be able to blow shit up hard

- Yes you call assists during hit stun, but not all assists are immediate [or even attacks] and most have HUGE cool down times [shortest I've seen so far is 15s, longest is 60] it is not a 100% combo breaker tool [especially with a1st point

- Only Support only characters have 1 action, playable characters have 2~3 choices

Ok, I'm going to finish up my Kenshin stuff to see if you guys like the notation and then I'll have some of the assists stuff there too [god, there's just so much to this game lol]

OH, also, the Samurai School stage needs to be BANNED, NOW! lol, place is dumb, only stage with environment damage and they can easily steal 1/4 of you life. Luckily you can't be KO'd be them, and yes they are telegraphed and easily marked, but in an fast pace game like this with 3 other people to worry about it is just a little silly [awesome when fighting the CPU though :kitty: ]
