That is Chie doing her 5D with the portrait from P3 female protag (not edited in any shape) slapped onto the lifebar.

Odd since for me it looks genuine, but I'm not believing it to be true,

This image is false. It's not even the same stage of the one showed in the video.

False images were made by a certain somebody who is giggling at you guys. Don't go crazy with all the speculation, we'll know in about a week anyways.

That image looks pretty fake in comparison to the actual video. Still, I can understand. I think a lot of us are a bit hungry for some new information.

Pretty sure that one was fake.

But yeah, whatever happens on the 25th, we'll be seeing something new. We don't have any character that summons a yellow projectile that travels vertically while shooting a stream of light.

Vertically up?

Since down is also vertical in a way....and Kanji's D attack is kinda projectile-y but I know that's not it

Kanji's projectiles are all vertical (5D/jD/2D). His only vertically traveling special I can think of is the shoulder charge move.

It has more of a rainbow coloring than simply yellow.

Actually I didn't even notice that.

The persona drops a object, it pauses for a moment, it travels up and shoots a stream of projectiles, stops again, and then travels back down shooting again.

I'd make a video showing where it is exactly, but we're only 9 days off from knowing what it really is so why even bother.

Someone mentioned that one of the Personas was red. When I read this, I immediately thought of Orpheus Telos since that particular Persona is primarily red (with some gold). So either could relate to the 2 P3 Protagonists. I doubt it would be Magatsu Izanagi considering it is less red and more black. But to keep my hype levels down, I will not speculate any more than this. We do have 9 more days for it anyway so we might as well wait. I'm much more interested in how they plan on rebalancing the game instead since certain parties are way to good and others are virtually "LOL too bad".

EDIT: OK changed my mind. I found a potentially better candidate. One of the Personas has a rainbow colored projectile? Well does anyone recall the ultimate Aeon persona that Marie's S.Link grants? That would be Kaguya-Hime http://img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120617200512/megamitensei/images/8/87/Kaguya_hime.jpg

Might as well post the analysis I made regarding character height here (and here's the .webm I had made of the teaser):

- I guess I hadn't realized how much documented character height in Arena was carefully considered. The pixels in-game match up proportionally to the characters' written heights, like Yosuke being 175cm tall or Yu being 180cm tall. Modifiers such as Mitsuru's high heels, Naoto's platform shoes and Junpei's baseball stance are also accurately depicted by how it affects their real heights.

Example:
By capturing Niconico video screenshots in order to determine the dimensions of P4U2 characters in relation to the aspect ratio and then scaling those shots to 1200 x 675, I was then able to deduce, by comparing original P4A sprite sizes, that I could scale those P4A ripped sprite images down by about 84.6354% so that 1 cm was approximately equal to 1.937143 pixel, which proved to turn out pretty much right. For Yu above: 180cm*1.937143 = 348.69 px. For Yukiko: 164cm*1.937143 = 317.69 px.

- The stage in the P4U2 tease is most probably the P4A version of the Stairs stage. I tried comparing it to a bunch of 100 x 100 px Gaussian blurred images of stages and the only one that fit was this one for the Stairs stage.

- The match in the tease is just starting. It's obvious by looking at the health bars for both characters when it starts, which are the standard teal blue for when a character has 100% health. About 1-2 seconds in, player 2's health bar turns green, which indicates that a character has taken damage. (Example)

- Considering the previous points, both insanely blurred silhouettes of the characters on both sides of the stage should still be accurate to the dimensions of their position 00 sprites, which means looking at the color patterns of both characters properly would give me a good idea of who they are, among other things. So, of course, I did that.

I had thought that the character on the left was Junpei before due to their movements which were awfully reminiscent from how much P4U2 footage I've watched. Comparing footage of the same aspect ratio with the whole pixel conversion I had done before in addition to cutting the bottom of the preview picture to the area the characters stand on in order to ignore those golden P4U2 promotional words, I determined that height for the character on the left (292px) is indeed that of Junpei's (291px):

- Which, I guess finally, brings me to the character on the right. From what I can tell, this is an approximate image of their height:

Image height is 274px (width is 110px). This isn't close to any other character's sprite 00 height in P4A except for Teddie with 268px (even Naoto's is 309px thanks to her platform shoes). And, given how some of the background image is perceptible around the character in question, I find it hard to think it's Teddie, who has a pixel width of 232.

Dividing 274 pixels by 1.937143 results in a height of 141.44cm. Ken's height is 140cm.

I'm fairly certain that the above is pretty accurate. To be clear: I'm not claiming anything regarding the characters' identities, since heavy blurring and some colors make it too hard to randomly speculate on what could specifically be in the teaser. But going from what I deducted, it should at least give a good idea of who the characters might be because of their height.

I'm a little surprised they spoiled that but didn't mention anything about Adachi.

Also, if true, it'll be interesting to see how they actually make Rise fight. Maybe she'll be a Persona-less character?

Posted

IDK but I'm crossing my fingers for her P4D outfit.  :U

Maybe she was the one shooting that rainbow shit in the blurred video?

Yeah thinking about it that makes sense.

Posted (edited)

That sounds like great news, well, for Ken at least. I'm still not buying Rise playable though.

Welp, I guess we should just wait. Like always.

You know what, after knowing this and relooking at the video. The persona on the left looks dead like Himiko and whoever is playing is using another palette. You can even make out Himiko's satellite.

So is it safe to say that Ken will be Persona's Axl?  Or maybe Venom?  I do dig me some Venom, and it would make sense given Ken's choice of weapon combined with the balls of light.

And so, even without much proof to back it up, people flooded the site (not DL obviously) with Anti-Ken Amada comments. I'm personally indignant of the little twerp, but if his inclusion is the price to pay for having playable Rise (assuming all this is true) then fine. I'll take the good along with the bad. My lady Lizzie is still here after all and I am more demanding of buffs/further rebalancing that makes her better than having to worry about Ken's presence taking up a slot.

Shrinking the character select icons down to make room for Rise and Ken would actually make 4 more slots (there are 4 blank slots visibly offscreen right now in the arcade version), so I'm wondering if 2 more characters would be DLC.

Well, we've got Adachi potentially, so that would leave room for maybe one more DLC.
