The one on the left wears pink clothes, has blond hair which looks like it's tied in a ponytail fashion and throws some sort of projectile to the ground. (unless they were using alternate colors) Her persona can shoot a stream of small, greenish balls almost in a line.

The one on the right looks like a male, could have red hair and can shoot a pink projectile that goes in some sort of a wavy pattern. His persona has a distinct red color in something that might be it's hair and can do a slow teleport using wind and a air dash also using wind.

I don't remember seeing anything like that in any other version of P4A. We're looking at new characters here, but who could they be?

That description of the girl sounds like the Female MC of Persona 3 Portable, no clue on the guy though. I do believe you are right about them using alt colors though since the colors don't really match up.

Well that definitely isn't Kala-Nemi or Nemesis behind the character on the right. So that rules out Ken. If anything the persona reminds me of Medea

The blurred footage... neither character in it appears to be a preexisting one. The one on the left appears female and also a shadow (has the glow), has some sort of projectile move that I don't remember any other character having as well as a persona attack that shoots lights. The one on the right looks kinda short.

 

Whoa, I didn't even noticed. The character on the right looks like he's flying on a... green cloud? Wtf. 

I'm... hype about this.

If that's Teddie then what's that weird looking projectile attack coming from the persona on the left? I've never seen Teddie do anything like that.

It looks like Kintoki Douji but that can't be Teddie. I've used Teddie long enough to identify him in blurred images and when the image is tiny. My thought would be either a new character with a similar persona animation to Kintoki Douji's held item throw or Teddie in his human form.

Yeah, the persona looks like Kintoki Souji but the character itself and the projectile are different. Well damn.

If that is a human form Teddie, I would be a fan. I really hoped that was how it would be when he was announced as a character in the original. Anyway, I think the video is too blurred to get our hopes up. I kept thinking the character on the left was Yukiko because of the way they threw their projectile. I want to be hopeful though. 

 

edit: it might actually be them just showcasing new moves for the balance update.

New characters would be nice but since Persona Q is mentioned just before the P4U2 stuff, for now, I'm going to assume they might be showing off the console version, which may or may not have a new game mode that explains the new stuff we're seeing in the blurred portion. Hopefully, they do a formal Famitsu article before or after the show to give us more details.

Turn's out I might have been wrong with the announcement at the end of the Taito national tournament. They talked about expanding the character slots along with balance adjustments.

Do you understand Japanese or are you getting this from some other source? Everyone else has said that the only thing they mentioned was that there would be a new version of the game.

So I had heard it from other sources, but since you asked I decided to double check. The actual announcement made at the nationals was that their would be a new version that would add a new mode of play and character updates. It didn't say anything about adding a new character, I'm afraid. I should have translated it myself before anything, sorry guys.

Damn you guys are good. I could barely make out the shape in the blurred video, let alone anything specific like "It is or isn't Kintoki Souji". Guess I'll just have to wait for the 25th. New mode does not have me as interested as "character updates" does. Hopefully this ends up being healthy for the game in the long-term.

I've known about this picture since yesterday. Pretty sure it's fake since the character on the right in it is clearly P3 FeMC, which makes absolutely no sense.

Forgive me for potentially stirring the pot here, as I DO agree with Strife on this about low expectations, as I was pretty much just expecting a balance update and nothing more.  MAYBE Adachi if we were really lucky, but I stumbled upon this on GameFAQS this morning, and I have to wonder, elaborate troll, or are they deliberately hinting that we have a New Challenger contained within that blurry mess?  http://nenilein.tumblir.com/post/82774317732/they-revealed--p4u2-stuff-during-the-lunar-eclipse.  And while that Twitter account is new, they're following only the official accounts of ATLUS and their Persona-related ones, so those of us trying to decipher that blur may be on to something.  10 more days until all will (hopefully) be revealed!
