There's no way someone can do this that it doesn't look like they're insulting you.  If they mirror you after you've beaten them, it's like they're saying you only won because of your character and look see they can be cheap and scrubby too.  If they mirror you after they've beaten you, it's like they're saying you're so bad that they need to demonstrate the proper way to play the character so you don't embarrass yourself further.

I know their true motive is probably neither of these in the vast majority of cases.  Still, that won't stop me from narrowing my eyes and whispering "You asshole..." every time it happens.

 

Tbh I do this but only after 3-10 matches or so of the character I was using previously. I don't do it to be an ass though, only because watching another person play a character I use always makes me want to play that character. Also mirrors are usually funny.

 

 

Haha, that's pretty much like Izayoi mirrors, except that whoever gets their Gain Art stocks faster wins. You don't really have to dodge Izayoi mirrors though since nobody uses her anyway, but it's funny when it happens, because you're both all like "SONIC SABER! SONIC SABER! SONIC SABER! SONIC SABER! SONIC SABER!".

It's pretty funny doing this with Jin vs Izayoi too. All the Ice Swords and Sonic Sabers clashing.

Any match where a person can do the same strings over and over and you can't press buttons because of input lag...Looking at you Jin, Azrael, Terumi.

I think he's saying regardless of lag. Relius with ignis out, regardless of lag, has great blockstrings. In lag though, Jin can do 5B>5C>2D as much as he wants. Azrael can do 5B(B)>236A all the timr and Terumi can condtantly reset pressure with j.2D

This isn't even specific to those characters. That's literally how the game is on netplay. You can IB things all day (if you're fortunate enough to even get that) and still not punish the opponent regardless of the character you're fighting. You can input a reversal, a counter assault, or even a 5A/2A during their telegraphed or patterned mixup/pressure and be stuck on defense all day long...well, that is until you get hit (which will happen).

 

I really just don't like this game on netplay at times. I'd say "3 or 4 bars and nothing else" if not for the fact that even 3 bars chug along at times and 4s are sometimes nonexistent.

Its real noticeable with dp characters when your inputs get eaten, or just in general when you want a counter assault and out comes an overhead

For some reason I only seem to run into Platinums (Heart Car) and Terumis (Idiot 6C mashers)

Here's a new pet peeve: The vertical range of air grabs. Something about seeing my character get suddenly teleported from above the opponent to level with them for a grab's animation just makes me cringe every time I see it.

Funny thing is, if they get predictable with it, you can abuse online play and air grab her out of it.  Pretty hilarious to pull off.....

im convinced hakumen's feet have magnets which go straight to peoples hands when they input grabs. im just like...what.

That's happened to me from max 5B range. It's like Nu grabs his toe.

Also grabbed from behind. I just teleport into her grasp.
